Got the family pack gongura paneer biryani for a family dinner. It comes with the biryani, mirchi bajjis, a sweet, and a soda. The place was pretty busy when I got there, but I just grabbed it to go. The biryani itself is fantastic. Not too spicy. Really flavorful. The paneer was soft and the rice had that nice gongura flavor. The mirchi bajjis were average. But the sweet we got was carrot halwa, and when we opened it at home, it had mold on it. That was disappointing. Kind of put a damper on the whole meal. read more

I was in the area and hungry, found a local place. Once I arrived, I realized, I had been here, years ago. Not sure, if it was the same place or owners though. I tried their lunch buffett. The service was amazing 5 out of 5 stars! I was acknowledged and greeted immediately. They were busy, but immediately cleaned off a table and asked if I wanted Naan and a Dosa. Not a huge fan of Dosa's, but this was probably one of the best Dosa's I ever had. We're off to a great start. The buffet food was amazing. High quality and flavorful. Keep in mind, I live in an area with half a dozen Indian restaraunts within walking distance in Evergreen and they can't match this quality. This review is for a Doordash order. We love trying out new biryani places in the Bay Area in the hope that we may stumble across one that is different. With the saturation of biryani places in the area now, that's slowly becoming a pipe dream. LOL. So I was particularly happy when we discovered this place on DD. Now I wouldn't go so far as to say that the food here was spectacularly unique, but as far as the taste and freshness of the food, I'd give it full marks. We had the Goat Ghee Roast Biryani, the Ulavacharu Chicken Biryani, the Lamb Seekh Kebab, and the Chicken Masakalli. The appetizers were spot on. The lamb was succulent and flavorful. The chicken was tender, spicy, and delicious. Both biryanis had great flavor and meat-to-rice ratio. The order arrived on time, so the service here on-site must be pretty fast. First time trying this place tonight. We tried the goat ghee roast biryani and butter chicken (as a benchmark). First off, that butter chicken was phenomenal, easily the best I've had in the Bay Area. I don't know what they're putting in that but it was delicious. The goat ghee roast biryani was equally delicious, the goat was very tender and well spiced. And the rice was perfectly cooked. Pulihora - spices, lentils, peanuts, and sour ingredient (ex: tamarind, lemon, or green mango) mixed with rice and tumeric Phool Makhana - lotus seed curry Rasam - tamarind, tomato, spices and herbs in soup Sambar - lentils, tamarind, herbs, spices, and sambar powder mixed into vegetable stew Dal - lentil stew Ask staff from naan and/or dosa. There is also a dessert table on the side with fruits, pudding, and pani puri water. For $17.95, the price is very reasonable and you can try so many different dishes. Lunch buffet $17.99 (for weekdays) Have gone here 3 times. Went there today and strange enough, they have a sign now stating you can pick one Budweiser or one bud light with the lunch buffet. Originally, there was a sign (and there still is a sign) of one free can of soda during the weekend buffets. Major pitfall for today: super curry-fied table (aka very dirty table) but they quickly fixed it (thank you!). FOOD: It was spicier before. Typical tastes and options you expect at any Indian buffet with the addition of AYCE puri puri (brownie points!!). I don't eat poultry but table mates state execution has improved but only of the bottom pieces as the top pieces are saltier and drier. I wish there was spinach curry sooooo much. I also wish there was mango lassi/some sort of ice cream to calm down the spices and heat, haha. Provided dosa (typically have to ask for it but surprisingly they asked us for the first time today if we wanted dosa), plain naan, chai tea, and a canteen of iced h2o. Strangely, their name is biryani and the rice always tastes horrible--I have had fantastic rice elsewhere so I am speechless. AMBIENCE: Typical Indian buffet vibe. Lots of workers coming in to eat. SERVICE: Prompt used plates pickup/removal. Very polite and courteous. However, there is an obvious liking towards others of the same race aka Indians as they promptly asked if they wanted beer, more naan/dosa, and frequently asked them if the food was up to par and if they needed anything else. Parking should not be complicated--free and private lot. I miss the OG Indian buffet that was originally here SO much. I hate how a "chain" took over. We've had their butter chicken before and it was incredibly tasty--rich, comforting, and full of flavor. Their mango lassi is dangerously good too... so good we guiltily had a couple extra . Last night we ordered the chicken curry using their buy-one-get-one-free deal, and it absolutely delivered. Normally, I think one plate and I be good. But since it's Buffet. I did 2 orders of Naan. Thr chicken curry is better with Naan. The goat curry would be better with basmani rice. But in a Buffet I don't eat rice. Overall a good deal and very clean place. I was the only customer there at 2:30pm I think the lunch buffet ends at 3pm I will try to visit more. Ordering for takeout in advance was easy online, with a reasonable 20 minute quoted wait time (I arrived 5 minutes early and my order was ready). Got the butter chicken with butter naan, and it had the perfect level of spice with a hint of sweetness, and lots of chunks of tender chicken mixed in with the curry. Also got the egg fried rice, a single order was large enough to probably get 4 meals out of this. It had such a nice balance of ingredients (egg, carrots, onions), and it wasn't oily or overspiced. As someone who works in Milpitas, I'm constantly looking for good/new places to eat for lunch. I always crave Indian cuisine, so I decided to try Biryani Junction and it did not disappoint. The lunch buffet was actually something I didn't know I'd like. I was undecided on what to eat, so the buffet allowed me to try several recipes w/o having to pay ala cart prices. The entire box was flavorful except I found the rice a little dry. It's nice to see the menu has various veggie options for biryani , will try out the soya and jackfruit ones next time.
