You can tell they really put so much work into the wall art as well as the installation of a decorative power line, to make it feel like you are dining outside on a nice, balmy day even if it's actually the middle of winter. The pani puri station is so fun and whimsical, the server prepares each bite for you while you pick which sauce you want to go with it. I felt like I was at a night market. We also ordered the pav bhaji which was hot, buttery and delicious. Tied together with an order of garlic naan and chicken tikka masala, our meal was sumptuous and so satisfying. This is our fourth time coming here and we will definitely be back with our friends and family.

Just two minutes before entering the restaurant for a snack, I tripped in the parking lot over a parking stopper and fell flat. After being seated, I realized my knee and elbow were bruised and throbbing with pain. My daughter asked for some ice, and the young man at the reception immediately brought a pack of ice. Surprisingly, he also returned with band-aids, alcohol strips, and gauze. I was truly impressed by this kind and thoughtful gesture, and I wanted to share it here as a different but very positive experience.

Raunak is part of a corner plaza and there's parking available but it could be limited during peak eating hours. It has a classy, beautiful interior that has great ambience for dinner with friends or a date with your partner. The staff were friendly, nice, and attentive. I ordered the mutton biryani! It had such a beautiful and colorful presentation from the veggies, meat, and rice combined. It was a bit spicy but it was paired with a great amount of raita to mellow out the flavors. Lots of pieces with bone in, it was tender and delicious. The staff were so nice in setting the mood for our birthday guests by even playing happy birthday in the background. Great experience for fine dining in Milpitas!

They were happy to make a reservation for us as well. For me personally, I ordered the Butter Naan & Chicken Tikka Masala. To be honest, I have had better tikka masala elsewhere... but it was pretty decent here! It was REALLY CREAMY and the flavors still came through. Chicken wasn't tough and the portions were fine. The Saag Aloo was flavorful and spicy! The consistency was really thick too. I also tried the Mutton Biryani and it was delicious! Flavored really well and the sheep was tender. Quite spicy!

It's just a little cold in there for some reason. We started with a watermelon spritz and the inji-puli lotus appetizer since we'd never tried anything like that, and it was very yummy and had such a nice crispy but soft texture. It was also a good portion for all four of us. We got the goat curry and the chettinad spice vegetables, and a few parathas to share. We were afraid it wouldn't be enough but the parathas are actually very filling, and also have a really great texture of both crispy and soft, and delicious flavor. The curries were good, could have used a bit more salt but good spice. The stars of the show were the desserts - this deserves its own section because omg I'm still thinking about the desserts!!! We got the gulab jamun brûlée - an amazingly well done take on creme brûlée with a perfect top, easy to crack and beautifully flavored. The filling was amazing and sweet and so so yummy. They also were kind enough to give us a complimentary chocolate cake which was absolutely amazing. I'm generally not too impressed by chocolate but the quality of this cake was phenomenal with perfect sweetness and richness. I need these two again !! Definitely recommend coming here for an occasion.

Wow. I've never been to an Indian restaurant this posh before -- the moment I walked in I was like,…read more"woah." The space is absolutely beautiful, which explains why reservations are so hard to come by. I somehow snagged a last-minute outdoor reservation for four, but three more people joined us at the last minute. When we arrived, I asked a gentleman who looked like the manager if we could move indoors because it was cold. Even though they were very busy, he found us indoor seats in a perfect spot -- we definitely got lucky. We were a party of seven, half of us vegetarian. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share, and everything was great, but the vegetable biryani stole the show for me. I don't come from India, so take this from a non-native -- it was hands down the best veggie biryani I've ever had. The flavors were incredible, and it came with raita and a chutney that paired perfectly. I kept thinking about it even after trying everything else. Other highlights: the gunpowder idli was mind-blowing, and the lotus root appetizer (my first time trying lotus root) was a delightful surprise -- great texture and flavor. The dosa was soft and exactly how I like it (I'm not into crispy dosa), and the paratha with the vegetable curry was delicious too. The meat dishes my friends ordered got rave reviews from them as well, but I was still daydreaming about that biryani. Service was excellent -- the staff were kind, patient, and especially attentive to the kids in our party. When the restaurant is busy there can be a wait for food, but trust me: every bite is worth the wait. Highly recommend Anantara if you want a beautiful dining experience with outstanding food.

Never tasted so sour Rasam in my life. I am yet to try other dishes so giving the benefit of doubt to the restaurant by giving neutral 3/5 rating. Perhaps other dishes are not as sour as what I experienced. The waiter however was very nice and the ambience good. This looks like mostly a takeout place near Walmart and Big Al's. I will be back to try their biryani and give a final review.

Please don't give your business to an establishment that is so disrespectful towards its customers. We arrived just before 9:15pm for dinner on a Friday evening and were promptly seated. The restaurant wasn't crowded and there were only a few families dining at the time. There was only one person running the entire restaurant floor and it took him a little while to come take our order. We decided to share a chicken kottu paratha and a chicken dosa and while the kottu paratha was pretty delicious, the chicken dosa was a disaster in more ways than one. In the bay area, where you're surrounded by tons of great dosa options, I was genuinely surprised to be served a dosa that was so tasteless and filled with completely dried out tough chicken. Anyway, while we were only 10 minutes into our subpar meal, the square payment device and 2 to-go boxes were placed on our table without a single word from the waiter. Because it was only about 8 minutes left till closing time for the restaurant, we figured that the sole waiter managing the floor must be trying to wrap things up. Anyway, we paid within a few minutes and tried to continue with our meal. The waiter however kept pacing next to our table and made it amply clear that he wanted us to pack our leftovers and leave. As we were packing our leftovers, the waiter turned off all the restaurant lights except one. As we hurriedly left the restaurant, I looked at my watch and it was only 10:04. I eat out a lot and at most restaurants all over the country and worldwide, customers are not seated after the closing time but customers who have been seated and served are allowed to finish their meal. Even if Namma has different rules of operation, they could have easily communicated the same politely and not been so passive-aggressive and disrespectful. Needless to say, this was my last time at Namma. Fellow Yelpers, you've been warned of the service you will receive at this establishment.
