Was pleasantly surprised by this place. We recently moved from SF (CA) and anytime we move we hunt for good pizza. Not our favorite pizza joint in the area but much better then we expected and it's close to home. We went with our old fav pep/pineapple and the slight hint of garlic was a nice surprise. Staff was friendly when I walked in and I noticed a dog treat bowl by the door so I'm guessing pet friendly during summer when the tables out front are in full use. Overall we'll be back and look forward to trying some other items on the menu. read more

I've been here several times and overall they have been great. The food isn't cheap if that's what you're looking for but I do think it's worth the money which is the important thing. This review will consist of my latest experience but I'll say that it's been fairly consistent. I was running around today and just needed something a step up from fast food. I got and it was the late afternoon slow period. While it was off to a slow start, the guy working the kitchen was attentive and the service been the 2 staff members there was not only attentive but genuinely friendly. It didn't seem like one of those things were these guys just had to smile because they have to deal with the public. The food was fairly quick and honestly it was really good. I'm not going to claim I'm an expert on italian food but this was really good. The presentation was well done and the most important thing, it was very delicious and filling. It's really well prepared food. Price honestly isn't bad. It's a little pricier than Red Robin but the food and service was really well done. The atmosphere is great too. It's relaxing and gently lit and the seats and tables look well maintained. It's a nice place to take your loved ones or even for a quiet dinner date. read more

Well, I had high hopes for this place as a possible new pizza house but that isn't going to be. I stopped in during lunch time a week ago and wanted a NY slice of cheese pizza. Being a former New Yorker I am always on the lookout for someone out here who can give me a real NY style slice. The place wasn't crowded (maybe a hint?) and ordered two slices of cheese pizza. Twenty minutes later I got my box and went home to enjoy but that wasn't to happen either. When I got home after that long wait I bit in and got a mouth of burnt, tough pizza. Inconsistency is the name of the game at Bella. I'm only giving them 1 star because of this, and because of their lack of customer service for a long time customer. Other than that, sometimes the food is very good. Like other reviewers, sometimes the pizza is really, really, good. But usually there are issues with the order (we typically get food delivered), and the last time I ordered a pizza for my family it took an hour and a half to get. Of course, by that time, the pizza was cold, soggy, and inedible. I called to give feedback and was told that they would send out another pizza-well by that time my kids had already eaten and my husband and I didn't want to wait another 45 minutes. I declined the offer and the man on the phone offered to comp the next pizza we ordered. This weekend, after months of abstaining from pizza (trying to cut back on the fat), I called Bella to order. I asked the gal on the phone to look at the notes on my account so that I could take advantage of my pizza offer. No dice. She said she believed me but didn't have the authority to fulfill the order. (Also, there is a $10 minimum deliver charge -what?! On my free pizza?) So I told her I understood and asked her to check with the manager. Evidently the manager on duty "didn't know what to do" either. I asked her who would know, and she said the other manager. I asked her to give him a call to see what he'd say. She called me back 10 minutes later to inform me that she was sorry, but I was out of luck. I guess I won't have to deal with the hit and miss from Bella anymore. If I could give a zero stars, I would. But I can't, so I have to give Bella a one star. I purchased a Groupon for Bella for a dine-in experience but I allowed it to expire. I at least expected for the face value to be honored (I believe it is federal law that states it has to be up to 5 years, but I could be wrong about that). Sooooo, less than 3 months after expiry, I phoned an order in and informed the person who took the order that I had a Groupon that had expired but was hoping to use it for the face value. The employee said he wasn't sure he could do that, that the manager/owner wasn't there, and that he would try to reach him for approval. Meanwhile, I was told it would be 25 minutes for my order to be ready, which was fine. I ordered a calzone, a gyro, and a Greek salad. When I arrived to pick up, the manager/owner still had not been reached, so not only did I have a Groupon I'd already paid $19 for, I was charged another $25 for my order. Uh??? During the transaction, the manager/owner miraculously showed up, then proceeded to argue with me about giving me credit for the Groupon. He said I needed to be dining in, I needed one other person with me, and I needed to adhere to the rules of the deal -- what I'd ordered wasn't in line with the Groupon. In order to qualify for the Groupon, which was expired mind you, I was required to have ordered TWO calzones or pizzas or pasta dishes, AND I had to order wine or beer, neither of which I was willing to do. So at that point, I had paid more than $45 for a calzone, a gyro, and a Greek salad. And my kids were at home and hungry and looking forward to me bringing home some food! And then I made the fatal mistake of bringing up the fact that when the restaurant opened 8 years ago, we had ordered for delivery and the salad we got with the order was gritty. It was a Caesar, and the lettuce was dirty -- someone in the restaurant hadn't washed it. We called at the time and they apologized -- a new restaurant, and new employee -- but when I brought this incident up with the manager/owner, he vehemently denied that that ever happened. He asked me for my phone number (which is apparently how they track customers) and insists that I have only ordered from them once, that the dirty salad never happened. LOL. I don't forget things like dirty salad. At this point in our conversation, the manager/owner made the decision that he was tired of me. He told the kitchen clerk to block my phone number and refuse me business ever again. He took the food I ordered away from me and told me to leave. No, I'm not kidding. Oh, and he refunded me the $25 in cash. But not the $19 I'd paid for the Groupon. Soooo, needless to say, I am all over this. I don't take this kind of stuff lightly. read more

Outside banner states New Food New Attitude, unfortunately new food means lower quality. I've been there numerous times during the older attitude regime. They used to have a layer of cheese on top of their baked pasta dishes, it was an unpleasant surprise when I took the top off the serving dish and discovered the naked pasta. Not only was the cheese missing from the pasta, it was also missing from the salad and the cheese / garlic bread has also dropped down in taste and quality. Since coming to Washington a few weeks ago, I've missed very little about my home state. Except...that pizza...that little hole in the wall place, the owner who shouted at me regularly ("Whats wrong with you-a! Why you not try my other toppings, ah!? Not good enough for you!?" The crunchy crust....the mild Italian sausage.....it was heaven, all of it. I've been craving "New York Style" since I landed in lynnwood, and going to bellas' and based on Yelp! reviews, I really only expected normal medium crusted, chewy dough, with excellent toppings. Well, shock and awe me out the door! THIN and crispy, and the toppings were phenomenal. And the sausage ....*wipes a tear of joy from her eye..though not shredded as at my favorite joint in California, was mild Italian sausage, that flavor took me straight home, and I was comforted. Service stank but I don't expect much from people anyway, so when I asked the hostess for another cheesecake slice (the first one dropped on the floor, yes, it was in a plastic container but my boyfriend is wierd and wont eat things that don't have clean, straight lines where they're supposed to..sometimes I cut jagged bits out of a hunk of cheese just to mess with him) and the waitress looked at me and said "REALLY!?"..I wasn't surprised. I guess it was a huge deal for her, i know!!! I should be more understanding; those cheesecake slices are SUPER heavy, and she labored over it for a full 20 seconds. To her, my apologies. I've been here about a year ago and the food was only decent but pricey. I told myself I'd wouldn't be back. However, the restaurant had a Groupon deal, so I bought one. Oh man, was it a mistake. Talk about customer service. This place had absolutely NONE. I guess this is how the owner of Bella has trained their staff. The owner was on vacation, so apparently he had asked his staff to not take the Groupon offers. This was after the fact that I had called to confirm they were honoring Groupon deals and had drove 20 minutes to the store. We asked for the manager and the staff claimed to not have any manager for the store. That right there tells you something already. We were simply told they cannot do anything and if we dont like it, we can leave and ask Groupon for a refund. Well, that is exactly what I am going to do. I just had to walk out. Walked in and no one was there to greet. Guy behind the counter told us to sit down. Sat down the table was dirty as was the booth seats. Waited 15 mins before guy came out to curtly ask what we wanted. We ordered and had to wait another 10 mins for the meatball appetizer. In the meantime I had to get up to get my own drink and had to fish thru 3 glasses to find a clean one. Had to get my own silverware too. When the Meatballs arrived they were ice cold and the sauce was tepid at best. We had to leave....service was horrible and slow. I did leave money for the drinks though but felt that was too much. Also overheard while we were sitting there: a customer came in to pick up a pizza he called in at 5:08 but when he arrived at 5:50 he had to re-order his food and wait. Sorry. I like having a choice of delivery places other than pizza. What I didn't like for the delivery is when the driver has the charge slip my card number is fully imprinted in red along the top. I came in around two, saw the board of specials charging 6.50 for a beer and a pizza slice so i figured i might as well come in 'cause that's not too bad right? I walked in and waited about 15 minutes (the only employee who was there working went to the store to buy something leaving the store unattended?). I ordered the beer and pizza and was charged 7.50, slightly annoying, but that's fine, i wanted to wait it out and see if it was worth it. It took very long to order and i was handed a beer and sat down. I was drinking it until i got about halfway and i looked at the beer and it was ~3 months past the best by date. I was kinda bothered that it wasn't checked and tasted off but oh well. So I asked for another beer and he handed me another without any problem. I wish it ended there but then that beer was expired from march of LAST year, 15 months later. I told him that was expired also and asked for another beer and it was the same thing until a few beers later he just handed me a corona, which didn't have a best by date on it but i would assume it's already expired also but i really didn't care by then as i wasn't offered a refund or anything to make up for it and just drank it. The pizza then arrived and just at a first glance it was really burnt and not really appealing but i figured food is more about the taste and not the looks but was then met with an equally unpleasant taste and texture. It was very dry and it was kind of bland. The sauce and cheese and bread was dried out and it had the texture of reheated pizza but i didn't watch since i was already preoccupied being bothered by the expired beers so i can't say that it was, but i could put money on that being the case. I didn't end up finishing the pizza because the taste and texture was just so off but it might've been a bad day so i guess i can't judge entirely. If you're reading this owners, for the love of god give that man some help. And guy working, if you read this then quit because your owners don't care enough about you to keep the store even relatively functional. I'm not normally negative like this but it was a pretty pathetic showing. read more

I like the lasagna at this place. This pizza is not very good but I like that you can buy it by the slice since I love pizza and continue to give it a try just in case it gets great based on how much I like the lasagna. The gyro is decent too. The service has never been great here and when we first started going it was because we bought a deal for several meals at a discount. I'm still annoyed that part of that deal was an auto-grat of 18% and then on top of that I was tipping 20% and no one said a word to me...and that was after they didn't great service. As a server I always pointed out when someone had an auto-grat added, it's just common courtesy. 3 stars, I'll still go on occasion but not my favorite spot. My mom has raved about this place the past couple years she has been coming here since the ownership change and menu revamping. We had family in town and decided we needed to check it out. The service was great and the food was splendid!! You wouldn't expect something as good as this to be located in a strip mall in Bothell. After being there Andrew and I discussed that it was probably best that we are out of their delivery area. Everyone started off with cheese bread. The bread was golden crispy on the crust but still soft on the inside and coated in mozzarella. There in-house produced marinara is the BEST marinara I have ever had. It had a great zing to it. Andrew and I shared a meatball, pineapple, and black olive calazone. The ingredients were obviously high quality. Andrew can't stop raving about the wonderful crust. The rest of the family got the meat pizza with pineapple. We loved the crust too. I liked that the meat had a lot of toppings, but they were cut into small pieces so that they stayed on the pizza rather than just falling off. Crust was thin and super tasty on the pizza too. Leftovers have been great. We can't wait to go back and will have to try some pasta. In addition, they have a great beer selection of a little Italian place.
