On July 2, 2026, my family was in Virginia Beach for a reunion and decided to visit Bojangles. My daughter remembered enjoying Bojangles chicken in Manhattan years ago, so we found the location nearest our hotel. When we arrived, Bree, the cashier, greeted us warmly. She was welcoming, helpful, and offered thoughtful order suggestions. She was also patient, professional, and knowledgeable, and she processed our orders and payments quickly and efficiently. The staff who prepared our food were friendly and attentive, making sure every order was correct. Their attention to detail was excellent from start to finish. I ordered Bo's chicken sandwich, not spicy, along with a biscuit and peach iced tea. The sandwich was well seasoned, and the biscuit was golden brown on top, pale on the sides, flaky on the outside, and soft and layered inside. Its flavor was rich, buttery, and mild. The peach iced tea was delicious, and altogether, everything was finger-licking good. The Bojangles team, from the cashier to the cooks and order preparers, worked together smoothly. Even during the busy lunch rush, they remained calm, friendly, and attentive with a wonderful sense of humor. I also had the pleasure of meeting Vince, the Director of Operations at this location. He represented the company exceptionally well. He was personable, efficient, and clearly skilled at managing both the team and production. During the lunch rush, I saw him clearing tables and greeting guests when the dining area became short-staffed because of the crowd. He gave clear, precise instructions without raising his voice, speaking to his staff in a calm and respectful way. The mutual respect between Vince and his team was easy to see. My wife and I decided to try Bojangles for breakfast after hearing some good things. I went with the spicy chicken biscuit, seasoned fries, and a sweet tea, while my wife got the kids' two-strip combo with hash browns and a soda. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite meet expectations. The chicken itself was fine, but the biscuit was very thick, heavy, and greasy. The seasoned fries were just okay, and the sweet tea wasn't as good as I had hoped. On the positive side, the staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which we appreciated. I had to drop some tables off at the MWR dept and before heading to work stopped at a non Chesapeake Bojangles for a bite to eat. To be honest, even if I wasn't hungry, I would've still stopped because, well, the powers that be of Bojangles feels every city in Hampton Roads should have at least 2 but the 'peake, luckily for me, I was famished. I was torn between my 2 favs- Cajun, egg and cheese or a Cheddar Bo. I decided to go with a Cheddar Bo, Bo rounds and a Pepsi mainly because I wanted to fill up on potato vs biscuit. I made the right decision because that Cheddar Bo was oooooey goooooey, hot and tasty, but not filling, I saved that part of my belly for Bo rounds. The folks were friendly and fast and the parking lot quiet and clean. I hear there is a FINALLY a Bo coming to the 'peake, but so far away from me the Elizabeth City location would still be shorter and less traffic. Bojangles, don't let me know. I finally saw my first Bojangles in Virginia and decided that we needed to try their chicken. We got a box of their 8 pieces of chicken and 4 biscuits and took it back to our hotel to eat. First when we got there to order we asked the manager Joe if all the chicken was hot and he said yes so we got all our food we sat down and our food was very lukewarm and we got a 20pc family meal. Second we went up there after we found out our food wasn't hot and we asked for the manager. When the manager came we explained to him everything that happened and manager Mike told us that he trusts everything the other manager puts out even tho we kept telling him he didn't give us what we asked for. I hate that I have to give 1 star. First off the server had a horrible attitude and demeanor, attitude in the voice when she was talking to me. You know exactly what I mean. Ugh. It had been a while since I visited Bo. I didn't feel like making breakfast so I stopped by the drive-thru to grab food for myself and my family. Bojangles serves their breakfast menu all day which is something I absolutely can appreciate. I am a big fan of their bacon egg and cheese biscuit. The gentleman who took my order was very jolly and super friendly. As I waited I noticed a huge cat roaming the parking lot that walked up to the door of the building. It was rather awkward watching him pace back and forth in the parking lot. Maybe he was looking for food or maybe he's their new mascot...anyway.. Our guilty pleasure when south of the Mason Dixon line. We love the chicken and biscuits from Bojangles. Being from the Philadelphia area, there are not any Bojangles within 50 miles and only one (Reading PA) up north. This is ok as it gives us something to look forward to when road-tripping in the South. Always consistent and never greasy and the biscuits are perfection. Bojangles is never high on my list of chain chicken joints to hit up. It's not that they don't have tasty food, they indeed do. But there have been other choices that I find more affordable and somewhat healthier if that's possible in food chain restaurants. I have began to see an expansion of Bojangles in recent years across Hampton Roads. What the consumer does not know is there are two kind. A corporate owned and a franchised. What is the difference, well as most often is the case the corporate often has more over sight into the management and pricing, as where a franchisee can have flexibility with pricing of a menu and set their own protocols for the business. In the case of the store on Northhampton in Virginia Beach it is a franchised store. The location is golden off of a constantly busy road and the restaurant sets on an easily access corner with a traffic light. The big yellow sign cannot be missed. Prior to their renovation earlier in the year this was a big time VB cop hang out. I suppose they gave sweet discounts. Fast forward to today and I never see a patrol car in the lot. Just an observation from someone who passes by the establishment at least once a day. The exterior received a nice facelift and now looks like the new stores. There are several outdoor tables in which to eat and they even have umbrellas. The lot is always more than adequate in size even when the place is hopping and it usually does have a steady business. I found the parking area and sidewalks to be clear of debris which is usually foretelling of the cleanliness inside... but I was WRONG! If coming here I will often use the drive thru, but tonight I went inside and boy was that enlightening. I noticed the dining room had only one customer in it as I passed through to get in line to order. I did not have to do a close inspection to tell it was pretty filthy. One table had food uncleared, other tables needed wiped off and worse was the floor which was in desperate need of sweeping. The trash container was over flowing too. I guess that I should have just walked out at that point right! I cannot tell if the dining room underwent a renovation, or not. I don't think so. I placed my order of chicken strips combo with a very nice woman who said she was new and immediately she made a mistake and needed a manger to clear a void. I was not upset and she apologized and was friendly the whole time. The food came out within minutes, was hot and smelled great. I noticed four employees behind the counter. With no business inside and little in drive thru it was aggravating that management was not moving staff into the dining room to clean. I sat down in a clean area by the soda machine and enjoyed a really good meal. If you have yet to try Bojangles fries they are a treat. The seasoning is spectacular. The biscuits are delicious too, but as Joe D. alluded to in his review things have changed. Portions smaller and prices way up. Since this is a franchised store they price up, so keep this in mind. My meal was almost $7.50 which to me is too much. My visit ended with a stop in the restroom. I could tell that it had been upgraded with new tile, stool and sink and looked presentable on the surface. Only a small amount of litter was on the present However, the smell wreaked of urine and indeed you could see it in front of the urinal and was nasty. When preparing to walk out I witnessed employees just standing around behind the counter with seemingly nothing to do. That leads me to believe this location is poorly managed. It also leads me to believe if the dining room is that dirty I bet the back is too. I could have been more harsh and delivered a 1 on this review. I could not in good conscience do so with above average customer service, as well the food was tasty. I see no reason for a return visit any time soon and who could blame me. read more

We were packing up an apartment and needed to replenish our energy stores. Meh...this didn't do it. It more or less depleted them. The store is located on the corner of a street off of Northampton Boulevard. The parking lot looks a bit run down and the building...well, nothing to write about. As a teenager, I worked at Bojangles and loved their food. Maybe it was teenage tastebuds, but this was not what I remembered. There was one vehicle ahead of me in line and none behind me. I ordered a two-piece chicken dinner (all white) with two sides (mashed potatoes and dirty rice). I ordered chicken nuggets with mac n' cheese for my granddaughter. The chicken tasted like it was cooked in old grease and not moist at all. It was a bit dry and kept sticking in my throat making me feel like I was going to choke. I wasn't sure it would make it to my stomach. I couldn't finish it. The mashed potatoes...what can you expect...but instant. They were just what you would expect from a fast food restaurant. The dirty rice would have to taste good. It was one of my favorites. Nope. It was dry with little flavor. The small and scarce bits of meat were shriveled and tasteless. I'm not so sure they were real meat at all. What they were was disgusting. But wait...how do you ruin a biscuit? I won't even go there. It gets a star for the employees. My family ordered an eight piece box with biscuits. The chicken was old, hard and been sitting. Realized once we got home to feed the family it was disgusting. Someone asked what's wrong with the food and then realized what we had been served. I called the store with no responses over 20 times. Finally I had to drive back and wait in a 10 car drive thru because the sign stated the dining room was closed just for tonight. This Bojangle's is right at an intersection and their lot has openings on two sides, so access depends on which way you're heading. The parking lot didn't seem to be adequate though and for some reason, it was nearly full even though there were only a few customers late this evening. So that may be a problem when they are really busy. (if that ever happens) I thought the fried chicken was pretty good, about the same as Hardee's fried chicken back when Hardee's had fried chicken. The dirty rice wasn't bad either, although the coleslaw was uninspiring. I didn't have any problems with the service this evening. They were very fast and got it right the first time. The downside seems to be that for fried chicken, their prices are on the high side. Combo-ing a fried chicken platter doesn't add value because you'll only be getting a drink. read more

The food was great hot, fresh, and tasted wonderful. I got the breast meal with Cole slaw and fries. The fries are awesome and and that seasoning was God send. The chicken was crispy and golden on the outside and the inside was hot and juicy. The coleslaw wasn't anything to scream about but it was ok. The customer service was great they were friendly and efficient. Decent if anything good to say about my chicken family meal I had ordered for my 1st Bojangles experience. The chicken(8 pieces) were seasoned with a hot kick ,but skinny pieces which disappointed me. I was looking for at least a wing to have meat on it ,sadly they didn't. They were on the dry side and that is a breaker for me . I like more of a crispy skin these had plain breading on them. The Mac n cheese tasted like microwave powered mix kind ,yet edible if your really hungry . The mashed potatoes and gravy was decent. The star of the show was the buttery flavored big biscuits included (4) leaving me to believe they must have good breakfast sandwiches which I will review once I try them. The meal comes with a half gallon of juice we chose the iced tea. They have their own brand which was cool. The iced tea I expected to be sweet but it was plain regular tea,I didn't care one bit for but the kids enjoyed it . For those of you who have never tried it, the Cajun Chicken Biscuit sandwich with pimento cheese is about the best fast food sandwich ever. They serve their biscuit sandwiches all day which is a plus. Drizzle a little honey and it's perfect. Not all locations have the pimento cheese which is disappointing. Hot biscuit. Hot and spicy chicken with creamy cheese. Manageable to eat on the road. read more
