The manger at Rally's was very rude and snatched the food bag out of my hand when I told her the order was wrong. She then just gave me a bag of fries and I ask her were was the rest of my food and she said she gave it to me and accused me of taking the food out the bag, then the youg lady said here is the bag and it was in the back the whole time. She then told my co work this was too much work with a nasty attitude. The manger is very unprofessional and gave us attitude for no reason. I hadn't frequented a Rally's in years, then came T-mobile Tuesday seducing me with a free Big Buford burger. I had no issues w/the cashier redeeming it. She even accommodated two people in one car redeeming the offer. Ordering was easy but they are located in a small parking lot. Capable of accepting cash or credit cards but not contactless pay. The cashier explained they disabled it due to difficulties it was creating. During my visit I saw a new beverage they were offing. I chose the mango slushie w/real mango pieces on top. It was good. Not sugary sweet and the mango topping was fresh. My small order of fries was just that....small. If you had baby doll hands then it'd seem larger but this was a teaser. My burger was made as I requested. All items came out at their appropriate temperature and tasted good. It may be awhile before I return but enjoyed my moment of nostalgia. read more

Never really had any trouble at this Rally's. I love this chain for their crispy seasoned french fries. I stopped by with my boyfriend the other night after a long day of work, craving those fries and a milkshake. Service was a little slow, but we weren't in any hurry. I ordered a Crispy Fish Sandwich, medium fries, and a vanilla shake with fudge (they were all out of chocolate, no biggie). My partner just got a Rallyburger and some Funnel Cake fries and we also shared a Mr. Pibb. Our order was handed to us shortly, and all of out items were correct. When we got home and ate, I found everything to be pretty tasty, especially after not eating all day. My fish sandwich was pretty good, though I added more lettuce and sauce at home. The fries were crispy and flavorful. And my shake was delicious. My boyfriend devoured his burger before I could get a picture, but I tried a funnel cake fry and it was also yummy, nice and crispy! No problems here except for the slow service and lack of chocolate shakes, but it didn't ruin our experience. We'll be back! read more

This place is the top of the fast food chain! Everything I got today was absolutely delicious! We came thru the drive thru, but ended up eating at the few tables outside. I loved the new drinks. I tried the Strawberry Mango freeze topped with real mango bits. It was fantastic! The funnel fries are sooooo good. Get a large because your gonna want alot of these . Crispy and light with a nice coat of powered sugar ontop . Just watch your clothing it makes a little mess ,lol. My older son had a Strawberry shake. He said it was worth the stop for one nice & thick. I had plain wings on the side, but next visit I think I'll try them with sauce. They were good, but needed some flavor. read more

Worst location ever! My fries was so soggy , it tasted like they microwave it and the burgers was cold.

I was out in VB, had to drop some things off for the parents and then run another errand close by and decided to grab a bite to eat. I asked Mom if she was interested in running over to Rally's and before you knew it we were on our way. BTW this was mid-March just before current events. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon so we elected to do the walk-up window and then sit at one of their outside tables. There was one person in front of us but it didn't take long at all to put our order in. Mom grabbed one of the tables on the side of the building while I waited for the meal finished and bagged up. I don't think it took more than 5-6 minutes to get the food and then I joined Mom. I had a Baconzilla for lunch and large fry while mom had a regular burger and small fry. I noticed right away that my burger didn't look like it did in the photo on the menu. It was stacked different, but all the pieces were there, and it quite tasty. Rally's breaded fry's or Zesty Fries as they were called back in the day were always my favorite reason for coming here, however they're not the same as they used to be either. They're still breaded, they're still good, but they just aren't they way their were when Rally's came into the area in the early 90's. All in all, a solid meal that definitely hit the spot. Service was good, the outdoor dining area was clean. Food quality was good as well. Solid 3 out of 5 stars. read more

When it comes to fast food, most times, I'll just go hungry and wait until I can get real food instead of pulling into the drive-through. Chick-fil-a is the main exception for me, but it has been years since I've gone to a Burger King or McDonalds. I'm just not a fan, and neither is my body. BUT... I freakin love french fries. Rally's has my favorite fast food fries hands down. (Arby's and CFA get honorable mention) I think I read somewhere many years ago that Rally's/Checker's puts just enough sugar in their fries, so your brain gets excited for both sweet & salty. Sugar only shows up in the nutrition facts of their larger sizes, so I'm guessing that might be wrong information. Sugar or no sugar, these fries are the bomb! I used to love their milkshakes as a kid. I don't get them often these days, but the banana was always my favorite, and I find myself craving it as I type this. Everything else? I haven't tried anything worth craving, but again fast food isn't my jam. Their burgers are fine for fast food, better than what I remember McD or BK being. I'll try their chicken bites next time I go. Service is "average" here. It isn't the quickest drive through, but I've never gotten overly frustrated with the wait time. read more

Just opened Tuesday May 23rd. I have not been to a Rally's in decades. But this is pretty close to my home and my daughter insisted on trying. Location is beside the CVS on Independence where the Green Machine Car Wash wash was located. It's a a really tight frontage wise and a decision was made to split the lot in half. So just behind is part of the car was self serve stalls. Someone please tell me why they did this. I found the lot tidy and landscape pleasing. The drive thru-was wrapped around the building and a few outside tables were occupied. A small walk-up line in the front. I was able to located a space, there were a few and do a walk up to go order. I placed my plain cheese burger, fries and vanilla shake order. The young male cashier was meh. I could not believe how many staff people were crammed into the kitchen. Two middle age white men may have been GM's. My vanilla shake was given to me immediately and was soft, I questioned this. The clerk dismissed as ok. An older woman up front was quality control and smiled constantly. While waiting a person presented a bag with a wrong order for correction. They had it back out in minutes. This was good. My order was out in 10 minutes hot and correct. The older woman handed off and I again questioned the shake. She without hesitation took the old one and said they were making the shakes up in advance since they were so busy. A new one was delivered in less than a minute. This is NOT A GOOD PRACTICE. The food tasted good, not great, but average. The shake tasty. The food gets a pass, but I will not rush back. My daughter however liked it better than I. For only the third day open they get a passing grade of C+, or 3 STARS. The menu is decent with other options than burgers such as chicken. I applaud the effort. read more

Usually you would think "fast food" would be under 30 minutes, but this Rallys was highly disappointing. All the workers were standing outside and as I pulled in the drive through, all I could smell was paraphernalia the whole time. As I go to order, the business isn't even personable. The order was taken by a voice automated system. If you're into that then I guess this is your place to go. I proceed to order just a large fry and sit in line for a good while. Just a line of cars on their brakes and at the walk up window. I just left after waiting. For someone who hasn't seen a Rally in ages, I'm perfectly okay with that after todays visit. According to Dave (AKA the real elite reviewer) theres only two Rally's near us. One in VB and one in Norfolk somewhere... We both grew up eating Rallys as kids so every now and then we crave their french fries and so if we're passing this one-we have to stop by to enjoy their fries. Rallys fries are the best! I know you can't expect good service from fast food, but at some point we need to hold these companies accountable. I came on 10/23 at 11:00 just for some funnel cake fries. A small easy order. I pull up the first time and he says that the system is down. And that's it. Nothing else no hello or how are you just the system is down. I start asking if it'll be back up he says nothing everyone goes silent. I pulled around to try and find someone at the window and seen no one. Another car pulls up to the drive through and I see 3 workers stand up so not I go back in line because I'm trying to figure out what's going on. They tell her it's be about 10 minutes, she leaves and I told them I would wait. About 15 minutes go by and he tells me I'm sorry I have to close up now. My sweet tooth got to me and I ended up here for an ice cream. I pulled into Rally's which has the most ridiculous lot ever because it's super tight when you first turn in. Be careful! No one was in line so I pulled right up to the speaker. The person wasn't super friendly...very blah to be exact. I ordered the strawberry cheesecake stacker and she advised me to pull up to the window. I pulled up to the window and was given my total, my order and my change. I don't see myself ordering the strawberry cheesecake stacker again. While the ice cream and strawberry tasted yummy, the "cheesecake" tasted really artificial and bland. We came here opening day and food and service was amazing of course! Leave it to unmotivated Virginian workers to bring the rally's name down. Just grabbed dinner here and bit into a cold burger! Food was alright - I used the drive through and forgot ketchup and the staff forgot my fork so I walked up to the front window to get a workers attention. A worker looked at me waiting multiple times and ignored me each time. I stood in view of every worker for 6-10 minutes and even knocked on the window a few times. I understand a busy day but to look at me and blatantly not help me is rude. It wasn't until my Aunt had come up and knocked that a different worker had come and helped us. We had called the store after and my aunt was upset and loud however, the woman who answered claimed she had told me to wait one moment but NO one came to the window to tell me to wait or even acknowledged I was waiting for something. I haven't eaten at Rally's in years. I decided to try this new location. You'll find the menu is pretty diverse for a fast food "burger joint". The food is very good, and hits the spot. The burgers are very flavorful, and I can actually taste each ingredient. Everything tastes fresh. I've had the Rally Burger, and Big Buford. Of course, the fries are delicious! I was pleasantly surprised about the funnel cake fries. I highly recommend them! However, I would avoid the loaded funnel cake fries. They are topped with whipped cream and strawberries. It sounds good, but the topping make the funnel cake fries soggy. read more

FOOD: For a fast food place, the food was amazing! We actually came for the rave of the famous fries, especially since you can get large fries for $1 for the next month or so! They definitely lived up to the hype, but I think I might still prefer Five Guys fries. My friend said they had the flavor of mashed potatoes and gravy. We also got 5 asian kick wings and a Rallyburger. The Rallyburger was nothing special. It tasted like a Whopper from Burger King. The wings though... I don't have any fast food places to compare to, but I think they'd beat out any other wing place. We also asked for sauces, and we were told that they had buffalo and honey mustard; I'm guessing they ran out of the other sauces. I appreciated the width of the containers as to make it easier to dip just about anything. PRICE: Well, as I said, we came for $1 any-size fries (though we were told it didn't apply to the XL fries); they're normally about $3-$4. The Rallyburger was off of the value menu for about $1.50. The wings were $5 for 5 pieces, which is expensive compared to Buffalo Wild Wings' Tuesdays, but it was worth the cost. LOCATION: It's a small building located at the intersection Independence Blvd and Pleasure House Drive, easy to find though. It is kind of tricky to get into as the drive-thru is small. If it's busy and it's nice out, I'd suggest parking and walking up to the window. We came on the second day of opening, so it was quite packed, but since it was cold outside we decided to just wait it out in the car; it took about 15 minutes to order and get our food. I just had what would have been a delicious, and fair priced steak and cheese fries, however they were so unbelievably salty they were not edible. the fries are good except for the overload of salt, and I get them once in awhile, but really, nasty and unhealthy on the steak / cheese fries, so salty they would have dried your blood out! read more
