    a cheeseburger wrapped in foil

I heard the Five Guys grilled cheese sandwich was good, so i had to check it out. We walked in and placed our togo order. It was about a 5 minute wait. The staff was friendly. The grilled cheese is on a burger bun thats flipped inside out and it has a little more cheese than a regular cheeseburger. Its about $2.70 to add a patty to the sandwich. It came to about $10 for JUST the burger. I do love a good burger, but i wish they had a cheaper option for a burger with fries. I like that if you order fries its kinda plentiful. But you've gotta like handcut fries. The fries are pretty good, but they get limp kinda quickly. If you want flavor on your burger don't forget to ask for cajun seasoning or your burger will just be unseasoned meat thats grilled. It leaves more to be desired. The cajun seasoning helped the burger out and it was pretty good. My only complaint is the burger gets soggy kinda quickly. So eat it asap. 3.5 stars Five Guys!!

No complaints after several trips here over the past couple years! This Five Guys location lives up to the standard of the chain. It always looks clean and well-lit inside. They've taken measures to combat COVID, such as limiting occupation. As of 5/25/21, all employees were still wearing masks. Today I ordered a little hamburger with a variety of toppings and a little fry. It cost a little over $12 which seemed steep, but the fry order was certainly generous for being a "little fry". There were only a couple of others waiting on food at the same time as me, and one customer already dining at a table. It took between 5-10 minutes for my food to be ready. The fries were especially hot and fresh- and perfectly salted. The burger had generous servings of all my requested toppings. When my order was ready, I was offered ketchup and malt vinegar packets to go. The only challenge? Trying to wait until I got home to eat those yummy fries! I didn't even make it out of the parking lot before digging in!

Love five guys. But first and last time at this location. Service was fine, the hamburger was great but the fries were still raw in the center. Felt like no a/c was in use, it's 90 outside and I started to sweat inside. And watch your step on the way to the bathrooms. The kitchen exit is right before the bathrooms and the floor was very slippery from the grease and so was the bathroom itself. And all but one table was clean.

    Hello ladies.

Perhaps I'm just terribly cheap, but I feel like $8.50 for one double cheeseburger to-go is kinda pricey! However, I hate to say that it's totally worth it, but where else could I get such an awesome burger?? They even grilled my jalapeños on request. I'm not sure why they're better, they just are. I can't even make as good of a burger at home and I consider myself an awesome cook. I remember visiting 5 guys before they got so big when I was a young kid while living in Arlington, off of Glebe Rd. My parents lived close by and would take me for a burger every now and then. Back then, the burgers were around $3 if I recall correctly. Inflation sucks!!

Yessssssssssss. Someone posted on Facebook about a burger from Five Guys. Then I'm talking with some friends and someone says burger. All of a sudden, I'm craving a burger. Hello, Five Guys. Five dudes were working last Thursday night and they were the coolest folks I've ever dealt with in fast food. I threw out my topping order like Mark Wahlberg threw out female names in the movie Ted. Not a single error. Bacon cheeseburger deluxe... So big you'll need a knife and fork. It's more fun to make a mess. Throw in an order of fries and you'll be eating for days. All this was super lovely. I was the happiest fat kid on earth. If this was my last meal on earth, I would be content. Five Guys is where it's at.

A very decent Five Guys locations here at Fairfield Shopping center. The location is easily twice as large as the one I normally visit out out Battlefield Blvd. The order time to table was also exceptionally fast and we were eating out lunches about 6-7 minutes after placing the orders. And let me tell ya, I had about 2 tons a fries in my bag too. There was actually a larger volume of fries in the bag than in the cup and while I shouldn't have... I ate every last one of those crispy pieces of potato!!! Every one!!! Just delicious!!!

I really enjoy the way they make their burgers, and all the toppings are always extremely fresh! The staff at this location are super friendly. This reminds me of the old Fudrucker's that used to be on Virginia Beach Blvd. The french fries come in massive portions, even a small has extra scoops in the bag. They have salted peanuts to munch on too. I didn't realize they have hot dogs! They do! I got one after my seeing my friend's... they slice it in half and grill it and then it goes on the bun fitting all neatly with the toppings. NOT dribbling off the top. I liked the hot dog and the way it was served, but it wasn't an amazing piece of pork. They have better hot dogs at Fido's. It was pretty expensive at $4 something.

However, the day I went to sit down was super busy. I think it was the Sunday post-church rush. We waited a little over 30 minutes. Before ordering, I used the restroom--and that's where things really went downhill. While I was inside, I heard someone finishing up obviously changing their pad and then quickly leaving with the wipes and feminine items in hand without washing their hands. It turned out to be an employee, which was extremely concerning. They left so fast that I couldn't identify who it was. For a first impression, this was honestly disgusting, shocking, and off-putting. Cleanliness and hygiene are non-negotiable, especially in a restaurant. Unfortunately, this experience completely turned me off. Then it took FOREVER to get the food. While they had a lot of chicken ready to go it seemed like they fulfilled orders every 5 minutes. Lots of employees were walking in circles in the back seemingly not knowing what they were supposed to be doing. And to top it all off I was charged twice bringing the total to around $50 for mid tasting food. This error was corrected quickly. 4/10 -- would not recommend.

The staff keeps the drive-thru moving, fast and to the point. That said, if you're new or just indecisive, I highly recommend going inside. The menu is huge, and if you're not ready when it's your turn, you might feel a little rushed. My husband and I text our orders to each other and read off our phones to keep things moving. Cook Out was once the king of budget eats -- I remember when a tray (entrée + 2 sides + a drink) was around $5. Those days are behind us. I chose the Chicken Tenders Box Combo both visits. It consists of 4 large pieces of tender juicy chicken & true Deep South Cole Slaw prepared with a light sauce, just like I grew up with. Also included were Crinkle Cut French Fries & awesome Texas Toast. I opted out of their Special Sauce, which I am told is delicious by those who like dipping Chicken Fingers. Lemonade, which is really good, was my drink choice. Perhaps the difference in the visits has to do with time of day. The first visit was mid afternoon, having had a doctor's appointment in close proximity. The personnel were friendly & welcoming. What must have been the manager told us we should come back the next week, on their First Anniversary. We decided to support the restaurant on their Anniversary, meeting friends who lived in Chesapeake. The drive from the Shore Dr corridor to Greenbrier at rush hour was much longer than anticipated. So it was in the midst of the dinner hour when we arrived. The restaurant was extremely busy. The staffing seemed similar to our mid afternoon visit, which wasn't quite adequate to handle the dinner hour level of business. It wasn't an Anniversary crowd. My Chesapeake friends indicated that the restaurant was always that busy. The food tray came so quickly that I was still talking to one of their pleasant personnel, maybe a manager. Although we were able to order quickly, very soon there was a long line snaking past our table towards the back of the store. I was shocked when we left the restaurant at the extremely long line of cars waiting to go through the drive thru. The parking lot of the restaurant didn't come close to containing it. Told that it was always like this, I understood that the staff must be struggling to handle that many customers at one time. One big complaint on my second visit is that one of their 2 unisex, spacious bathrooms was completely out of toilet paper & paper towels. The soap dispenser had the front taken off, obviously by a patron trying to find soap. The inside replaceable plastic bag of soap refills had been squeezed, obviously in an attempt to get the last of the soap remaining. I planned to tell an employee the state of that bathroom but they were so busy that I decided to just return to my table. Obviously this was a good location choice for a Raising Cane's. But I do think they should increase their staffing level during the busy dinner hours. The location was filled with framed Chesapeake History. It was fun to walk around and see the articles & pictures. One was even a page from the 1955 Oscar Smith High School Yearbook. I'll return to this location both for takeout after a doctor appointment or to meet my Chesapeake friends. But I'll definitely leave earlier or take a different route. And I look forward to the opening of their planned Lynnhaven location.
