Took place on: 12/21/2022 7:20pm The boys working there during that time need to be reprimanded for goofing off in the kitchen the whole time and serving raw chicken. After paying at the window and sitting there for 5 minutes watching the cooks goof around in the kitchen and hitting each other, they had us pull forward and wait for over 10 minutes. Then they brought out our food. I ate it and realized the texture was weird. I turned on the car light to get a closer look and saw that they had give me raw chicken. I will be emailing the company because they shouldn't have kids working in there that are giving out food like that. This kids in there were not even wearing a uniform of any sorts. And when they brought out our food they didn't even say anything. Not one word. Just handed it to us and left. No "sorry about the wait" or anything. We got our food and as can be seen in the pictures it seem like all of our meals were kid size and we ordered regular two piece and three piece combos. We didn't even get a chance to order drinks for ours because they said that ours didn't come with drinks. When we pulled up to the window the girl who took our order was nice but the other girl that came up to the window was really rude. She asked if we had paid after we already paid and asked us what we were waiting on and we told her we were waiting on our food and she snapped and made a smart comment saying well what exactly are they waiting on I know that they're waiting on food after the girl right in front of us told her what our order was. If I could give zero stars for a place this is it. Apparently their drive through can only handle one car at a time from order to food pick up. We waited over 20 minutes just to order at the speaker. Pulled up and no cars were in sight. Heed the other reviews food is so slow you could make your own chicken faster. We were asked to pull up since, surprise, the food wasn't ready. I called the store this evening after there was an issue with our order. We went through the drive-through since they are short-staffed. I am glad they had that posted and let us know there would be longer wait times. The person at the drive-through was very nice. I called not to complain but just as a heads up about our order and the Manager fixed the situation. We just moved to Shallotte and Bojangles is my absolute favorite and we will be back! Overall, I would have to give this restaurant 3 stars due to multiple issues that have occurred while visiting this restaurant on several occasions over the last couple weeks. On our first visit we were shorted a Pork Chop Griller Biscuit sandwich on one of 2 combo orders. I appreciate the fact they comped our order the next morning after we called to inform them that morning we were shorted. The next issue was with an attempted substitution of french fries for Bo Rounds on another days Pork Chop Griller combo order. When I questioned the attendant as to why they substituted the fries, she replied that this is what I thought you ordered. When I questioned whether the time that I placed my order is what caused the substitution ( about 10:30am). She stated no, we serve Bo Rounds all day long. So after questioning the mistake, they did give us our Bo Rounds in addition to the fries. Once we left the drive thru, we noticed they shorted us one Bo Round from each package. So the next morning we went back again for breakfast and explained the Bo Round shortage the prior day to the attendant at the window. Once again they took care of us by providing 2 extra bags of Bo Rounds to compensate for the prior days mistake. Fortunately on our very last visit this past Monday we had no missing product, but instead received a very over baked 6 pack of the Christmas Sprinkled Bo Berry biscuits. We attempted to warm them up in the microwave to hopefully soften them back up like we have in the past. The microwave method did not work this time around. This reminded me of the flapjacks that Mrs. Douglas use to make for breakfast on the Green Acres sitcom, that either Eb or Oliver used for shingles on the roof! We have never received overcooked biscuits with our sandwiches. I have a hard time understanding how you can add blueberries, glaze, and sprinkles to your normal product and yet somehow they end up being extremely over baked and somehow no can identify this prior to selling them to a customer! Ok, so I appreciate the fact that the business has taken care of all the previous ordering issues, but I can't seem to get over how many times you have let me down. I can't think of one restaurant where we have had so many issues. Bojangles use to be our go to restaurant while traveling to the beach each year. Unfortunately, corporate management made some rather poor choices for menu item reduction in the past that left us scratching our heads. We still wonder to this day why the Roasted Chicken Bites Salad, and the Bowls were eliminated from the menu? One of the bowls allowed you to get the Roasted Chicken Bites, Beans, Rice, and even add Sausage for a very tasty meal! You also have never kept the Pork Chop Griller on the menu, which was another one of of our favorites. This item is back for a limited rime this year. I don't think you even had that back last year. I'm being overly generous with a 3 star rating. Accurate order fulfillment, unrequested order substitutions, and order quality need to improve to strengthen customer satisfaction ratings. In addition, the drive thru is almost always backed up in the late morning hours, yet guests are unable to enter the restaurant causing somewhat long service delays due to a one car lane, one point of service ordering system. Suggest management visit the local Chick-fil-A for ideas on how to improve service times. read more

The reason why they got a one star rating is because you drive through the parking lot and there's a big huge sign on the door that says come on in, however there's small print on another sign that says lobby is temporary closed, super super super aggravating... Just your average Bojangles, nothing really special about it. Service was mediocre which is expected, and food tastes alright, I've had several Bojangles' meals that are far better. This Bojangles is the worst one i have ever been to, so let me explain my experience. I know this is the only Bojangles around, but you better be really hungry when you come here. We went to dine in and the guy taking our orders was old and confused. Not only that, but he was covered from head to hands with warts. Hundreds of them, and I'm not the one to care if is just taking orders. But even taking orders was too hard for him. He kept saying "what" and still messed up my order. That's not the worst part though. He is the one that puts the fries in the bags and he DIDN'T WEAR GLOVES. seriously. He has warts and big bumps all over his body which is gross and then will touch your fries with his bare hands. Absolutely disgusting. He's not the only mess up of the restaurant. While i was waiting in line for my food(they were a bit busy so i was there for a minute which i understand), i saw this other old man refill the sweet tea container. The sweet tea was in a white bucket that looked absolutely disgusting. It had like black marks and smudges all over it and especially on the bottom so i knew it was obviously not clean. Then as he was pouring it, the bucket's cap fell face down on the floor. When the man was done pouring it, he just picked up the cap and put it back on the now half full bucket. I was going to get some sweet tea but i knew i couldn't. Even though the sweet tea in it currently didn't have the floor dirt on it, it's probably safe to assume that if i saw that in the first 5 minutes of waiting for my food, it's probably happened multiple times before, or worse. TL/DR: A guy with warts touched my food with his bare hands and messed up my order because he's sleepy and confused. The other employee I saw dropped the sweat tea container lid face down on the floor and just pretended it didn't happen. DO NOT EAT HERE. i'll leave an update if i get food poisoning. read more

I've only gone to this Bojangles a couple of times in the past decade but recently I've gone more frequently and I have one thing to say, really: either the restaurant needs a new ordering system or the staff needs new headsets because sometimes I go through the drive thru and I speak as clearly as I possibly can and they either don't hear me or I don't hear them. It can get confusing and they have gotten my order wrong before. Granted, I have a hearing problem (even though I'm only in my 20s), but I do think a better ordering system would be beneficial. I love Bojangles. In Raleigh we probably had Bo 3 times a month, or more. Heck I've had them 3 times in 1 day. They were on the way to work so breakfast, lunch and dinner. This Bojangles in Shallotte is a real disappointment. I've been 3 times over a 6 month period and each time has been worse than the last. Stopped by last night and the chicken was so bad the dogs wouldn't even eat it. The only recognizable pieces were the wing and drum. The breast and thighs looked like they had been butchered. I'm sure the fact they're now selling chicken bites has nothing to do with this. Their prices are higher than any Bojangles I've ever stopped at. They don't offer the same menu items as the others. In Raleigh you get a free tea when you purchase a chicken meal, not here. Also no senior discount. So if you're in Shallotte and looking for some good fried chicken pass by Bojangles and go a little further to Smithfield Chicken and BBQ. I've been going to the local bojangles for quite some time now, considering I am a local. Despite the fact that they are very short and not as diligent as other Bojangles i've been to, I still went because of the closer commute. I went to go last night to pick up some food on the way home from work around 8pm. The drive thru lights were not on but there were people inside bojangles eating. I went back around and was on the phone with my window down whenever I said "Babe, I don't even see a sign saying they're closed, only that they close at 10pm and the holiday times listed were only for the actual holidays. Right after the words came out my mouth, the rudest young lady coming out of bojangles yelled at me "WE ARE CLOSED, WE ARE CLOSED, WE ARE CLOSEEEEED, WE HAVE A CHRISTMAS PARTY, WE CLOSED AT 8, WE ARE CLOSED." I proceeded to drive and then stopped the car and responded "Do NOT yell at me, I won't hesitate to call corporate" This is coming from a person who works in corporate as well, I have been in the restaurant business for years. I have never spoken to someone with such disrespect. I then drove across the road to Wendy's to place my order. I get to the window and the girl who yelled at me had drove over with a car full of other people honking at me and yelling at me trying to get me out the car, they harassed me SO BADLY that I had to call 9-1-1 to get an officer to escort me home so that they would not follow me. They raged off after seeing me calling 9-1-1. You can check the records yourself, the call was made. I will NEVER be eating at this bojangles again and I suggest to anyone that values their well-being not to eat there either. I really hope someone addresses the issue and that perhaps if they cannot handle a christmas party, maybe they shouldn't have the privilege to have one.
