First time trying Sunny Side up for breakfast. They were busy but when get inside they have plenty of tables and staff. Our server took care of us right away but the food didn't arrive for a good 45 minutes after ordering. They also don't allow a substitute for the side of grits that comes with the egg dishes. I ordered a mushroom and cheese omelet. I thought it was good and should have added a side of bacon as bacon is good with everything. My sister ordered the eggs Benedict Florentine and she liked it but she also commented on the long wait.

I'm not typically a breakfast person at home, but it's always been one of my favorites to eat out, so trying to find a good place close to our new home is paramount. The Sunny Side Up diner in Calabash is only a few miles away so we gave it a try. This is clearly a locals hangout. The waitstaff is well seasoned and appear to know a lot of the customers. After our experience we are looking forward to being a couple more locals who frequent this place. Prices are more reasonable than most beach places. Portions are good. We had a few friends with us and all 4 of us were very pleased with the quality of our food. It appears they just remodeled and resurfaced the parking lot too. Overall great experience and recommend.

Good homemade food, attentive service with a smile and excellent prices. My husband had the meatloaf lunch special with green beans and mashed potatoes for $10.95. Large portions to fill up a big appetite.

Found this diner on Google. It's actually fairly roomy for a diner and offers lots of onsite parking. Upon entry we were greeted by a friendly hostess then was seated immediately. The waitress was nice, not overly friendly but nice. The patrons appear to be locals and not tourists like us. The ambiance wasn't anything unique or memorable but it was clean and extremely quiet! No loud talking, no music or rowdy behavior. The food was good and the prices were reasonable. I had a bacon cheeseburger and fries ...the burger was pretty thin but it was good. However, being from the south, I know and love sweet tea, so I was unimpressed with the sweet tea here! It was weak but it was sweet so I drank it. My son and nephew ate breakfast...they both said they enjoyed their food which came from the kids menu. I was going to give 4 stars but I took off another star because charging a, I think, 4% service fee for using a credit card was utterly ridiculous!! I mean in the era of tap to pay and being 23 years into the 21st century, who really carries cash like that?! All in all I give Sunny Side Up Diner a solid 3 stars!

The skillet I got was ok, had some flavor. The rye toast was dry for some reason. I would try lunch there at some point.

It was okay - the granola was really good but the yogurt was very sour, and the berries were a little sour too because they weren't ripe. I also ordered a side of toast and sausage links. The toast was good (I mean how can you really mess up toast?) but I do wish they offer to add butter to it so the butter has time to melt when it's warm. I don't expect that but it is a nice touch when restaurants do it! The sausage was actually really good though and was probably my favorite part of breakfast. I really wasn't sure if I should give this place 3 or 4 stars but unfortunately the service was pretty bad so I settled on 3 stars. Our server didn't refill our drinks which is unfortunate, especially because drinks have gotten pretty expensive lately. Our check was also brought out before we were finished eating. I still had half of my meal left over so I thought it was weird. I had also wanted to get coffee to go but that didn't happen since our check was brought out. Overall, the food was just okay and the service didn't make our experience any better.

Many customers order ahead and carry out. That's when you know it's a great place! They're proud of their New York style of bagels and unique creations & daily bakery delights. We saw a BBQ sauce blended bagel & so many more combinations of different blends. The sandwiches look delicious, as well as their cream cheese fillings. We wanted to get one but, we were meeting family for lunch in Myrtle Beach. Yet, we had to get some baked treats. Ordered the peach strudel, apple crumb strudel & butter cookie with apricot filling. The peach strudel was a little too sweet, the apple strudel was absolutely amazing and that butter cookie was literally the best thing ever! It wasn't the hard cookie crunch most are made. It was a soft, delicate light pillow of perfection. I could have ate a few more and refrained from taking a bag "to go" LOL Note- Many other local finds from jams to spreads. There are a few spaces in front of the door and more along the side of the building. We wound up parking in the rear across an alley in a grassy lot marked for parking. Turn to the right after you enter and go along the counter. There are two ordering stations depending on how busy they are. You will walk past their pastry cabinet so be prepared to increase your order. There is no designated waiting area after you place your order so try to find a place out of the way. There is a dedicated pick up window when they call your number. Pay attention to the numbers as they are called as the food is ready which is not necessarily in sequence. A better choice would be to call ahead as you will be able to pick up your order at the first part of the counter avoiding a lot of waiting. Seating is various tables. There is an outside seating area as well. Everything is pretty crowded together and if you are eating inside expect there will be other customers standing nearby waiting for their orders. We waited about 15 minutes for our order to be called. They have daily specials and the one when we were there was a bbq brisket sandwich with tater tots. There was a good amount of brisket on the sandwich. The meat was flavorful but not the best bbq I have had. The tots were cooked perfectly and piping hot. The roast beef melt was excellent with plenty of meat on an excellent bun. The bread was slightly crunchy outside and soft inside. Of course, standing by the pastry cabinet as we waited to order caused a white chocolate raspberry scone, a piece of baklava, a French toast muffin, and a pumpkin spice muffin to follow us home. All were excellent, with the French toast muffin and the white chocolate raspberry scone earning top praise. The staff was very friendly even though they were quite busy. Calabash Deli deserves to be on the list of top places to try when in the area.

We've come here every single year for his birthday, and it has become a very special tradition for our family. The setting never disappoints -- the restaurant sits right on the marsh and the views are absolutely beautiful. With the sunny weather and peaceful scenery, it made for the perfect backdrop to celebrate. We started with several appetizers including the Scooby Snacks, Boom Boom Shrimp, hummus, and the Board Meeting. Every single one was exceptional and truly exceeded our expectations. For entrées, our table enjoyed the filet mignon, fresh sea bass, a cheeseburger, and the fried flounder -- all cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. There was also live music by Johnny White, which added such a nice touch to the atmosphere and fit perfectly with the beautiful setting. But the real star of the evening was our waiter, Luciano. He was one of the most incredible servers we've ever had here. At one point my son accidentally spilled cocktail sauce on his shirt, Luciano didn't skip a beat He immediately stepped in to help clean things up, brought hot towels, and even brought club soda to help remove the stain from my son's shirt. He handled everything with kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. He also helped us celebrate in singing Happy Birthday to my son and even included a candle in his birthday pie. Luciano was attentive, compassionate, and truly the ideal waiter. He left us with a lasting impression and made an already special birthday celebration absolutely perfect. We look forward to continuing our yearly tradition at The Oyster Rock and hope to see Luciano again next year!
