Cheese Grits
Ike N.

Came here for brunch and was a little underwhelmed by the experience. We were sat almost immediately which was nice during Sunday brunch, but our service from there now wasn't great. Our server didn't come check on us very often so our drinks were frequently empty. She also brought out the check super early. We were only halfway done with our meal. She also only came back to take the credit card. It was clear she wanted to leave as soon as possible. The food was good, not great. The cheese grits had a good consistency and were very cheesy. I added a little extra butter and seasoning to get the flavor right. The Knife and Form Biscuit was very dry. I wish it came with a sauce or the eggs were over easy. The flavor was good but you really need a drink to get the food down.

Oops! Excuse the spill ... but here's the tea!! Location: 4/5 Parking: 3/5 Outside appearance: 4/5 Inside appearance: 4/5 Hospitality: 4/5 Food: 5/5 Price: 4/5 Found this little spot by a Google search. So glad I did! My meal... GREAT! Everyone enjoyed their food and specialty coffee drinks. I did a build my own omelette with bacon, spinach, and cheese. It was cooked to perfection! U had cheese grits and a biscuit on the side. Yum! Waiter provided great service and did a good job explaining menu options. She helped my friend, who is gluten free, find good menu options. If you're in the area, stop by!

Service was as kind as an active bee hive. The potatoes were over cooked and leftovers. The omelet lacked flavor as well. Not a place I'll go to or recommend.

Stopped in for breakfast this morning. It was a rainy morning so they were not busy and no wait (not sure if this is normal). Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Our food came out quickly and hot. The omelet was huge and delicious. Grits were really good and biscuit was also delicious! Everyone else said their meal was good as well. Pancakes looked yummy! Definitely would go back.

Very nice restaurant. Good food and friendly service. My fiancé and I had breakfast there two days in a row. First time just the two of us. Second day we took 4 of our friends. They enjoyed the food and atmosphere as well. I recommend this place.

Excellent food! We split the med board between 3 people with a few a la cart items. The breakfast bevies were also on point

A "Have to" when you come to Sunset Beach/Calabash! One of our families absolute favorites. Everything is delicious. We have tried LOTS of things on this menu and there isn't anything so far I would steer someone away from. Their breakfast boards are yummy and a definite fun experience to try! It's all really good. *My fav is the Belgian waffle with Nutella and syrup.

Eggs Benedict starring pork belly and bacon jam, side of cheese grits

This is a great place for brunch if you're staying in Calabash, Ocean Isle or even North Myrtle Beach -- there are locally inspired southern dishes but classic breakfast foods too. The donut holes are a must and there are mimosa flights and a decent coffee menu. I had an iced vanilla latte and I forget the name of my entree, but it was basically eggs Benedict with pork belly and bacon jam involved. I also had a side of cheese grits. This breakfast was heavy but delicious. I'd try an omelet or one of the bowls next time!

Southern Board

My husband and I met here with 2 other couples for breakfast. The 6 of us shared The Southern Board and the Sweet Temptation Board. It was enough food for all of us, but if we had ordered more, I think we could have kept eating. Pancakes, waffles, biscuits, French toast, bacon, sausage, fried chicken, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs and grits - all of it was amazing!

Excellent find while travel through this area…read more Freshly hand-crafted eats with so many choices, you'll want to study the menu before ordering 'cause there's so many fantastic options. Limited hours: 6:00 AM- 2:00 PM. Caring staff makes sure your order is prepared in a timely manner! Popular spot for the locals there tends to always be a line. Many customers order ahead and carry out. That's when you know it's a great place! They're proud of their New York style of bagels and unique creations & daily bakery delights. We saw a BBQ sauce blended bagel & so many more combinations of different blends. The sandwiches look delicious, as well as their cream cheese fillings. We wanted to get one but, we were meeting family for lunch in Myrtle Beach. Yet, we had to get some baked treats. Ordered the peach strudel, apple crumb strudel & butter cookie with apricot filling. The peach strudel was a little too sweet, the apple strudel was absolutely amazing and that butter cookie was literally the best thing ever! It wasn't the hard cookie crunch most are made. It was a soft, delicate light pillow of perfection. I could have ate a few more and refrained from taking a bag "to go" LOL Note- Many other local finds from jams to spreads. Can make great gifts. *They have on-site parking. *Specials on day old goods and daily discounted prices if anything is left over from a few days before. Highly recommend this adorable little store.

That kind of hospitality makes the experience even better. And don't leave without trying their amazing iced coffee, it's the perfect addition to any breakfast or lunch. There are a few spaces in front of the door and more along the side of the building. We wound up parking in the rear across an alley in a grassy lot marked for parking. Turn to the right after you enter and go along the counter. There are two ordering stations depending on how busy they are. You will walk past their pastry cabinet so be prepared to increase your order. There is no designated waiting area after you place your order so try to find a place out of the way. There is a dedicated pick up window when they call your number. Pay attention to the numbers as they are called as the food is ready which is not necessarily in sequence. A better choice would be to call ahead as you will be able to pick up your order at the first part of the counter avoiding a lot of waiting. Seating is various tables. There is an outside seating area as well. Everything is pretty crowded together and if you are eating inside expect there will be other customers standing nearby waiting for their orders. We waited about 15 minutes for our order to be called. They have daily specials and the one when we were there was a bbq brisket sandwich with tater tots. There was a good amount of brisket on the sandwich. The meat was flavorful but not the best bbq I have had. The tots were cooked perfectly and piping hot. The roast beef melt was excellent with plenty of meat on an excellent bun. The bread was slightly crunchy outside and soft inside. Of course, standing by the pastry cabinet as we waited to order caused a white chocolate raspberry scone, a piece of baklava, a French toast muffin, and a pumpkin spice muffin to follow us home. All were excellent, with the French toast muffin and the white chocolate raspberry scone earning top praise. The staff was very friendly even though they were quite busy. Calabash Deli deserves to be on the list of top places to try when in the area.

We've come here every single year for his birthday, and it has become a very special tradition for our family. The setting never disappoints -- the restaurant sits right on the marsh and the views are absolutely beautiful. With the sunny weather and peaceful scenery, it made for the perfect backdrop to celebrate. We started with several appetizers including the Scooby Snacks, Boom Boom Shrimp, hummus, and the Board Meeting. Every single one was exceptional and truly exceeded our expectations. For entrées, our table enjoyed the filet mignon, fresh sea bass, a cheeseburger, and the fried flounder -- all cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. There was also live music by Johnny White, which added such a nice touch to the atmosphere and fit perfectly with the beautiful setting. But the real star of the evening was our waiter, Luciano. He was one of the most incredible servers we've ever had here. At one point my son accidentally spilled cocktail sauce on his shirt, Luciano didn't skip a beat He immediately stepped in to help clean things up, brought hot towels, and even brought club soda to help remove the stain from my son's shirt. He handled everything with kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. He also helped us celebrate in singing Happy Birthday to my son and even included a candle in his birthday pie. Luciano was attentive, compassionate, and truly the ideal waiter. He left us with a lasting impression and made an already special birthday celebration absolutely perfect. We look forward to continuing our yearly tradition at The Oyster Rock and hope to see Luciano again next year!
