I've been to this restaurant multiple times, and the service is usually good and fast. However, my experience this past Sunday around 7:30 PM was disappointing. A tall, tan trainee was helping us, and his attitude was terrible. The restaurant forgot to bring out my spinach noodles, which I had ordered and asked to be cooked. When I reminded him, he finally brought them out--but they were uncooked. I politely asked if they could be cooked as requested, and instead of handling the situation professionally, he rolled his eyes and snatched the noodles back. Mistakes happen, but customer service matters. I hope management addresses his attitude because this place is usually great, and I'd hate for one bad experience to ruin it. read more

I've only gotten take out from this particular location (from Covid time until present day). - Parking is OK. Depending on the time of day you go parking can be a challenge, but there's spots in the back area of Mitsuwa. - Lunch is the BEST deal because they include a free tea with your meal. Unfortunately they don't offer it unsweetened and that drink can get super sweet sometimes. - Ordering to go can be a bit challenging. They are on DoorDash SOME of the time (sometimes they disable it on their end). And I don't always get someone immediately when I call their landline - I'll have to try several times before someone picks up. I do admit this has gotten better recently. - SO likes the limited special Bak Kut Teh soup, but it was only available for such a short amount of time. Tried the 3 cup chicken one and it wasn't as good. - Food quantity and quality is inconsistent. Sometimes broth levels are super low, or I'll get a dinky amount of vermicelli, or they give a pathetic amount of rice, or it's too spicy or not spicy enough, etc. The taste is overall good, but I just wish they were more consistent. read more

Possibly the worst service I've ever had in any restaurant, anywhere in the world. But, I want to be fair and rational so let's start with what they did well. Good: I got the beef hot pot in "hot" spice level and it tasted really, really good. It wasn't so overwhelmingly spicy that I couldn't eat it, but it was definitely at a higher spice level. The flavors were good and there was ample meat and veggies. Disregard everything else I'm about to write and this note should be enough for you to eat at this location. However, it's not possible to disregard the entire experience, so read on if you are considering eating at this location. Bad: It all started when we checked in. They said "about an hour." Sign said they were short staffed and we could see that half the tables in the restaurant were closed. So consider this, they were operating half capacity at the time we checked in. After an hour, we still didn't get a text, so we asked and they said, "it's really busy. Maybe another 30 minutes." Let me stop you there- being busy and giving an estimated wait time are correlated!! If you're understaffed and operating at half capacity, you need to manage better. Fast forward- the soups were cold when they came out. Drinks were brought sporadically. There were 4 floor workers and all 4 spent more time walking in circles looking like they were busy than actually doing anything. When my fire went out mid-meal, I asked for a new fire gel and light and the girl actually told me to wait until she cleared some tables. I waited 10 minutes, trying to be understanding, and she still never brought fire. I eventually asked someone else and by the time he brought new gel, everyone else was done eating and ready to go. This is all without really pointing out the staff's poor attitude and constant references to being busy and overstaffed. Next time, manage well or don't open. Don't excuse poor service because of poor management. Also, the meatballs had freezer burn- pretty disgusting for a restaurant that serves hot pot because that means it's not being frozen and sealed properly. I will never eat at this location again. Boiling point has become my roomies and I's favorite go to resturaunt when we want a spicy and flavorful comforting soup. Thought we've tried various items, the beef pot is our usual, as it contains all our favorites- corn, tofu, fish cake, seafood mushroom, imitation crab, soft veggies, vermicelli.. AND YUMMY MEAT. The service is pretty efficient as the robot comes around to serve you, however the workers may take a little longer to get to you during busy hours. If you are in the area, this is the Boiling Point to go to. Do not go to the Garden Grove one. It is so small and the service is terrible. As for the food, I only get one dish here and that's the Taiwanese Spicy pot. It comes in the larger size and in the highest level of spiciness. Although I have to mention there has been some changes to the ingredients, there used to be Taro chunks which I wasn't fond of but it's been replaced with Pork blood cubes which I'm really not a fan of. It seems to be in the Lamb pot as well. Just a note sometimes they let you ask for unsweetened ice tea for the free lunch tea that comes with your meal. Also another thing that changed is they no longer have the sauce pack set for your leftovers. They now charge $1/ounce of each different sauce. It seems like a big rip off. The girl told me about half hour....I waited there about 10 minutes and decided to take-out rather than dine-in. Another server told me that it would be 15 minutes for take-out. I was like...well I guess so. When he asked about my number for the waitlist, he told me that I was next in line for dine-in. After 5 minutes, I got seated. When I walked into the place, this restaurant was small. I Gotta say I appreciated they sat me down fairly quickly not like 30 minutes. I was taking over a 4-people table rather than 2. That can also explain this place may be a bit slow. I ordered my food quickly. I would say maybe ask for rice over vermicelli. I ordered korean bean paste pot which is $15.79 for lunch, after tax $17. The food came fairly quickly as well. I ordered medium spicy which isn't really spicy to me. Keep in mind, the level is very subjective. They have chili oil for you to add on if you desire. The soup is pretty flavorful. It came with a few pieces of rice cakes, fish cakes, one to two pieces of fish, a few pieces of pork, Korean noodles (to me its more like instant noodle), some vg on the top. The pot is perfect for the cold day. Eating it half way, they didn't give me the ice tea. A female server noticed and asked me if they already gave me the tea. She also gave me more soup. I like the place that can add soup. I felt its much of carbs (noodles + rice/ vermicelli) in the soup not enough other stuff. Anyway, over all, im satisfied with the food particularly just came back from Taiwan. However, I personally would not want to wait in the line for an hour tho :/ PS. Came here with some co workers after work. Put ourselves on the waiting list and it stated 45 minutes. We waited closer to an hour and were starving by the time we sat down. They had a promo going on that offered a free boba drink with a purchase of a hot pot. Unfortunately they ran out of boba by the time we got there so we were a bit disappointed but understand things like that happen occasionally. We all ordered the Beef pot and I ordered it medium spice level. When it arrived, it was the perfect amount of spice! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal as did my co workers. My only gripe was with the service. Lacking customer service and no one ever came to check on us unless we waved our hand for a server to ask for something. My go to spot! Boiling point will hit whether it's 90 degrees outside or 50. Each serving is enough to fill you up without having you feel like you overate. I personally enjoy the Korean Bean Soup because it comes with noodles! Everything was perfectly balance and the broth is so flavorful. This was hands down the worst service we've ever received at a restaurant. Not once did a server come to our table on their own as every single interaction had to be initiated by us. Whether we needed water, menus, or just basic service, we had to flag someone down every time, and even then, it felt like we were an inconvenience. No one checked in to see how things were going, and it was clear that attentiveness was not a priority. It's frustrating to be ignored when you're trying to enjoy a meal out. Boiling Point is always mid for me, but occasionally I'll crave it. I'm not sure why there's always a line for this place, but be prepared for a wait. The food itself is okay. It's cheap(er compared to other places), a unique concept, and plenty of options. However, I think this is just a personal opinion, but I do think that Boiling Point is better as takeout. In the restaurant, I'm not a fan of the shallow pot because I feel like the flavors don't get absorbed into the top ingredients. However, when in takeout form, the imgredients are mixed and put together in a bigger bowl so I can easily reheat it if need be. This time, we also ordered appetizers because there was a sale and we were curious. I really liked the appetizers! There was actually flavor! I loved the flavor profiles of both appetizers, especially the lamb. I also ordered a boba, but I accidentally ordered the wrong one. But it was still pretty good! Would try again. Love Boiling Point but not my favorite location. I usually experience longer wait times here and will usually wait for it anyways since consistency was always on point. However, this time feels short as my beef soup contained the chewiest pieces of beef! The pieces of beef and the corn were very gummy.. I noticed our bowls had something lit to keep them warm, but the fire did not increase. Also, service wasn't bad but we didn't get any water, refills, or any extra broth unless we asked. Honestly, I don't know why I don't dine at Boiling Point more often. The thing to know about Boiling Point is that each individual soup base comes with very specific ingredients, who that's something to consider when you're perusing through the menu. I had dinner here the other night and ordered the miso soup base ($19ish). My pot came with a ton of cabbage, meatball (just one pork guy), soft tofu, fish filet, bunashimeji mushrooms, fried tofu skin, udon, wood ear mushrooms, corn, imitation crab stick sliced pork, shrimp, egg, green onion and miso sauce. Whew! It was a lot, however, who knew I could get all my favorite things in one pot? I asked for my pot to be medium spicy, but my pot could have stood for little more heat. The miso soup had a subtle sweet undertone which I liked. As the pot boiled, everything took on the marinade and by the end of the meal, each bite was popping with flavor. Conceptually Boiling Point is so much fun. The portions are rather large so you can actually share if you don't want to commit to an entire pot. Service here is also great. I usually opt for the beef hot pot with medium spice, and I'm always satisfied. There's something about the soupy goodness that feels like a warm hug. I love boiling point primarily for its sauces! Specifically the garlic soy sauce and the chili soy bean paste. We ordered the milk cream curry pot and the lamb hot pot. The spice level is adjustable, I personally like to get flaming spicy. For lunch, a green or black tea is included which is nice to counteract the spice of the hot pot. If you're trying to eat lunch on a weekend at this location, I recommend coming ~5min before store opening to avoid waiting and having to eat the second round. The service is good when you raise your hand to ask for what you need like more fire/fuel, more soup, to turn off the fire, etc. The interior is clean and spacious. Busy little Taiwanese hot pot restaurant. So new office colleagues wanted to take me out to lunch and to turn me on to 1 of their favorite restaurant's. So lunchtime and there's a line to get in and had to wait about 15mins. Once inside and seated the staff will move you along and their are pretty efficient. I had the beef tomato, and there was a house special along with a miso soup and a lamb dish with scallion rice. All very tasty. The broth in my beef tomato was rich and full of flavor. Within 10 minutes, our order was at the table and we was done eating within 20 mins and as I was asking 1 waiter for the check another waiter was handing me the the bill already.
