I'll never forget my first BP experience years ago and now I'm eating it so often at multiple locations. It's simply the food, experience, and vibes. We come here all the time but unfortunately today we had to wait for over 40 minutes at 5:30pm on a weekday as the first in the check-in list. I love BP. BP is one of the restaurants in my frequent rotations. I go here whenever I'm craving comfort spicy soup. I recommend going during lunch since you get a free tea with your hotpot order, prices are cheaper, AND there is little to no wait compared to dinner. I went last Friday since they reopened dine-in lunch on weekends and it was fantastic. My order is a medium spicy beef hotpot and it never disappoints. The soup and service is consistent. If you dine-in, they offer soup refills which is nice. I usually get it when my soup tastes a little too spicy. The boba drinks at BP are also great and comparable to boba cafes. I recommend the milk teas w boba. Throughout covid, their dine-in hours have changed so call ahead to confirm. Currently, lunch dine-in is on weekends (Fri, Sat, and Sunday) starting at 11AM. My daughter and I went to have lunch on our way to our vacation spot. I would have given negative stars if I could. We were seated about 5 minutes after we got there, that was good. But, the service was disastrously bad. One of the server went to a table who was seated after us and got their drink and no one came to us to take our order. All the tables around us got their orders taken, but still no one came to us. We had to track someone down just to order our food and it took forever for them to come and there were so many servers and some were just standing around. After we ordered our food and drink, we had to wait forever again. We had talked down someone again for our drink and water and he was not a server. I think he was a busser. He helped us out more than the buster.. Food came out on that robot machine thingy for 3 tables and it was just sitting there for about 10 minutes or so and no one was coming to pass out the food. 1st table got their food, tonit moved to thr 2nd table, it just sat there again for awhile, then someone came and gave the food to them and we were the 3 Rd table, no one came and the robot just stayed for about 10 or so minutes again. I have never gone to a restaurant that made me wait for my food for that long and we had to get going. Food was pretty good, but not as good as other boiling point.... This location really has to improve on their services. Really really bad service. I really didn't want to leave any tip, but my daughter said we should leave a tip for the bust because he did everything and was better than the actual server. But, we couldn't leave it for him. I am sad to have to write this review. Boiling point was the restaurant that I always had a craving for since 2015. (tldr; i had a bad experience dining in and found a HUGE BUG in my food.) My friend finished eating and I asked the server if they can get a to-go box for my remaining soup. They took my food in the back and during this time, I was still eating what was left in my bowl and using my sauce. As they were cleaning up my friend's soup/bowls, multiple employees kept snatching my bowl and sauce to toss away into my friends' soup bowl (trash pile). In addition to that, another employee even grabbed my chopsticks threw it in the trash pile and when I mentioned I was still eating. She took it out and placed it back on my rice bowl... (this was when i lost the remaining of my appetite). I understand that servers like to clean up as soon as possible to let other guests in, but there was a lot of empty tables as it was the weekday at 9pm (they close at 11pm). It was very frustrating, but I let it go and refused to let it bother me. However, it wasn't until I heated up my leftovers and came across A HUGE BUG INSIDE MY SOUP. I nearly threw up by finding this in my food. I have never encountered finding a bug in my food my entire life, until now. I don't mean to be dramatic, but I am don't think I can come back to any boiling point after this experience. This place is always packed so come early. We came on a Sunday right when they opened and the line was already around the corner. By the time it got to our turn, the place was already full and we had to put our names down to wait for a table which took about 30 minutes. They sell individual hotpots here so you basically pick which one you want. There's options to add additional things to it. I always get the mushroom veggie with beef broth and add a side of pork belly because all the ones that come with meat have way too much meat in them for me. I don't generally eat a lot of meat so it works out perfectly. Although for meat lovers, you definitely get more bang for your buck when you order the meat ones. You definitely end up spending more if you order the veggie one and add a side of meat. The service is ok. I was debating to give you one star or two. I still think you deserve one star, but I'll be a little nice today. My girlfriends and I were craving BP so we decided to stop by yesterday. Anyways, this review is more so on the service. At the end of every meal, they give your table a jelly packet to cleanse your palette in a sense. We ate with my two little nieces, and they absolutely loved the jelly packets. They asked for more, so I took one niece to the counter to ask for another one, and the girl, although reluctant at first, handed me the jelly packet to give to my niece. Then comes my other niece wanting the same jelly packet. However this time the girl at the register goes well you just ate one at your table and I gave her one. We told her yes but that's for one of them, we want another one for the other one. The girl replies well you can buy them then. Buy your jelly packet?? Is this coming out of your paycheck or something? You can't afford to give one more to a 5 year old girl that ask for it? I know Asian people are cheap but to deny a child? LOL what.. Needless to say, we left without the jelly packet and a crying niece. So... won't be back. You can keep your bland soup with poor customer service etiquette. No one greeted us when we checked in; and the server was impatient when taking our order. We have called the server a few times to refill our soup and water. We had finished by 12:24pm and was able to finish food and get our check early to settle it asap as well they input my rewards too. Its just a tight fit for a party of 2 and stroller. I appreciate them placing us in the secluded spot so we can fit the stroller and for my baby to nap even though he had woken up just as we got our food. When places have macros spelled out for you, you don't even have to lug your food scale around and pick apart your food - I've done it so many times and have gotten rolling eyes that would make a hormonal teenager jealous (especially from friends). BP makes it easy to relax and have a good time without having to worry about estimating food intake! My favorite is the beef hot pot for both taste and macros - Lowest in calories, very high in protein, and not too bad with the fats and carbs! I can NOT starve myself all day and fit in an entire hot pot to myself (for reference, my maintenance calories are 1800) Parking is not too bad but it is always crazy crowded for BP, and it got even worse because of COVID. So, if you want to eat by 5:30, I'd say get here and get on the waitlist no later than 4:45 pm (4:30 pm to be safe). The last time I came here, I got here at 5 pm and ate at 6:30 pm. There was literally no spice in my entire soup. After raising this issue to the staff, they weren't able to do anything because it was already brought out. They couldn't add hot drops or bring this back to the kitchen. With the soup having no spice and being bland, this was an immediate negative experience. Located in the corner of a strip mall of a crowded lot, Boiling Point serves Asian style soups in a personal, hot pot style, and generally is known for having hella spice in their food. Be warned, the Taiwanese Spicy (at max) was actually hot. Dine-in had some stupidly long waits, but that's pretty much expected during dinner. Personally I would recommend dining during lunch on weekdays instead of dinner if you want a faster experience. You're pretty much guaranteed a crowd here, just like a line at In n Out. When you get your order, get your soup in a personalized bowl that's heated constantly. Eat slowly or you'll burn yourself with either the spiciness or the soup! Maybe that's why it takes so long... When you get a soup, you have a complimentary drink, usually a pint sized plastic cup. Nothing special but it's a nice addition. You also get rice on the side. Take out was pretty smooth as well. Called in about 15 minutes before and during lunch hour. Walked in and saw that they are doing limited seating, though people were waiting outside. Packaging was underrated. They had taped the top of your food and made it home with a full bowl of soup and zero spillage! I was a bit worried about that when I saw how this was stacked. The best part of takeout is that your soup isn't giving you 2nd degree burns compared to dine-in. For the food, the (4.5/5) Lamb Hot Pot and the (4.5/5) Taiwanese Spicy are both good. Lamb is something I recommend to friends who don't want to die from spice while Taiwanese Spicy is just a spicier, more elaborate version of their Beef Hot soup with clam, cuttlefish, pork intestine, and fishballs. I enjoyed both. I think you can enjoy this hot pot with two people but 1 is fine too. You'll always have leftovers. Best time to come seems to be lunchtime.
