Smash burger done right. This bodega smash burger is aka uncle Pete's cafe. Also, I enjoyed the ranch. The burger comes with onions, pickle and mustard and it's cooked perfectly. The restaurant is very nice and clean great decor and the staff are friendly. Try Bodega Smash Burger

Delicious! Great customer service and the food was great. Found this hidden gem and will be returning. Need to return to try their regular food items and loved the chill vibes.

Bodega Smash Burger is inside a place called Uncle Pete's Diner. We were a little confused at first but the address matched and we went inside to ask. Staff was friendly and informed us we were in the right place. Service was good and quick. Burgers were solid and crinkle fries were really good. Onion rings were pretty good and my son had an Oreo shake that was tasty too. I would give 5 stars but it was on the pricey side for a couple burgers and sides & one shake. Total came to $45+ incl tax.

This was supposed to be a smashed cheese burger. It was good, but not what I'd ordered.

Safe! Okay, let me explain.... I was craving a smashed burger, not to be confused with SmashBurger. Lots of burger joints offer smash burgers. The traditional burger with a smashed thin patty cooked up. When I saw Bodega Burger I called to ask about their smashed burgers and it was explained to me that it was part of a hidden menu. I couldn't wait to try this, so I packed up the family and headed to Uncle Pete's Cage. Upon entering I noticed the place had a decent headcount. Lots of folks enjoying the food. Quaint atmosphere and a solid mix of Johnny Cash and Elvis playing. I approached the counter and asked for the Bodega Burger menu. I received a completely separate menu from the otherwise known Uncle Pete's Cafe menu, so cool!!! As you would expect, I ordered the smash burger, I received a double cheese burger, good, but not smashed. The chili fries were good too. Service was above average as our drinks were kept full, napkins, regular check-ins, all spot on. One thing made me uncomfortable was the off duty server that stood inches away from the prepared food to talk with working servers. Her hair was flying about and she was breathing on orders ready to be served. It was a decent experience even though none of us received the smashed burgers we ordered, ingredients were missed, and the silverware places setting we requested never showed up.

    Smash burger and fries.

I'm not going to give a bad review and will definitely try it again buuuttt....ordered chili cheese fries and got regular cold fries . The burger was great though. Again, imma try again because I really want to try the chili cheese fries and the fruity pebbles shake.

Celebrating our 22 yrs Anniversary today and we were craving a burger. It's not our typical romantic Anniversary dinner but this was perfect. We order the burger, zucchini, wings and chili fries. Service here at Pete's Cafe was amazing.

It was our first time eating here, and even though they were busy, the short wait was completely worth it. The service was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and efficient despite the morning rush. You could tell the staff genuinely cared about making sure everyone had a great experience. I ordered the fried egg breakfast sandwich, and it was an absolute hit. Perfectly cooked egg, flavorful ingredients, and paired with their seasoned house potatoes, it was everything you want in a hearty breakfast. Simple, satisfying, and done really well. My family loved their meals just as much, and everyone left full and happy. I also tried the French toast, which was equally delicious. Great food, great service and we couldn't have asked for a better way to end our Disneyland trip. Parking can be in the plaza they're located in or on the side streets of where you turned in. We came in on a Sunday morning and waited to be seated. I noticed a slow trickle of people coming in, eventually, filling every table. It was an easy, simple Sunday morning. The energy of the restaurant was very relaxed and not stressful at all. The tables and chairs are fairly old and well used. Our server had little to no words for us, which was fine. She gave us a kind look. We had ordered a breakfast burritos, eggs, bacon, coffees all around, and an omelette. The food came out a few minutes later. Very quick, but hot and crisp. I wasn't a fan of my latte and their house coffee was a bit watery. I did enjoy my breakfast burrito and bacon. My dad enjoyed his breakfast platter, too. My fiancé's omelette was okay and wasn't fantastic. We finished our meal rather quickly and left. It's nice to have a local breakfast restaurant that has been well loved by the neighboring residents. Definitely will be back again.

However, each subsequent time, the overall vibe of eating here has gotten worse, with my final visit being the last straw. I felt like their cleanliness and service deteriorated over time. This most recent visit (it was several few months ago now), my boyfriend and I were seated by the window. After we put in our orders, we saw this HUGE ASS COCKROACH crawling on the window and basically edging onto our table. We got an employee's attention and let them know about the cockroach, and the employee basically just grabbed a napkin and snatched it, and I got the vibe that he was used to it lmao. Then he walked away. Another server asked us if we wanted to move to a different table and obviously we did. I feel like at that point I should've walked out but we had already put our orders in and I didn't really want to make a scene. It was hard to finish our food tbh just because of what we'd seen. We also paid full price =_= I have never asked to be comped at a restaurant in my entire life, but I felt like they should have offered to cover our drinks or something because we both got coffee. Anyway, after that experience I basically never wanna come here again :/ which is sad because I think the menu is actually great

My family and I have always been loyal customers, we always tip generously, and we have never given this establishment a reason to treat us with anything but respect. Today, that streak ended. We came in with a party of 9. Our usual, normal spot was completely open and ready, but the host looked visibly bothered that we wanted to sit there. Instead of seating us, they made all 9 of us stand right next to literally 10 wide-open seats for over 5 minutes. To make matters worse, the staff kept giving us looks that made us feel incredibly uncomfortable and unwelcome. In over a decade, we have never been made to feel like a burden here until today. It wasn't cool, and it completely ruined what is usually a great family tradition. It hurts to say this after 10 years of loyalty, but if you have a big party, don't go here. They clearly cannot handle it, or simply do not want the business.

It wasn't that busy yet but after a few minutes, large group of people started showing up. We did have a reservation prior. The cafe is really nice, pretty big and spacious. All of the staff are really nice. We ordered 3 appetizers and 1 main dish to share. I love getting their cloud matcha latte, it has this sweet and salty earthy taste that I love. My bf got the marble coffee, he said it was pretty good as well. Then we had calamari, spicy wontons and THE DAO. Calamari was plentiful in serving, comes with a sauce and I really liked their sauce, it has citrusy taste. The spicy wontons are a crowd favorite as well for me. It definitely puts it on the top spot of spicy wontons I've tried from other spots. THE DAO (yes, it needed the caps lock on the name), this is my top appetizer from this cafe. The first time I tried it, I was craving it for a while. Some people might say it's a simple appetizer, but for me it's the taste and flavor that put it on the top spot. For the main dish we had Xo Chien, it's a crispy rice with pork floss, egg, chinese sausage. It's a delightful dish, and the flavor and texture is pretty nice as well. My bf loves this dish. Definitely recommend going here for a brunch. Can't wait to come back and try their menu for lunch and dinner.

Back Again... and Somehow This Fusion Spot Still Hits!…read more Came here for breakfast with my girlfriend, and this is one of those spots I somehow end up visiting about once a year. Usually, when you revisit a restaurant after some time, you start noticing the quality slipping a little... but nope. This place has officially hit FOUR times in a row! Dry Bun Bo Hue -- $21 | 8.8/10 Although it says "dry," there's actually about 2 tablespoons of broth hiding at the bottom, and LET ME TELL YOU... that sauce is where the magic happens! It has this amazing sweet, spicy, slightly sour aroma that coats every noodle and pairs so well with the chopped beef. The noodles were cooked perfectly, too. I haven't had this since last June, so I was definitely a happy girl. Just squeeze a whole lemon over the top and BOOM--perfection! Squid & Mango Salad -- $16 | 8.5/10 So fresh and refreshing! The squid wasn't overly cooked or rubbery, and the mango had just the right amount of sweetness. Add in the peanuts, pickled veggies, herbs, and that sesame cracker for some crunch... and YES PLEASE! Such a fun combination of flavors and textures. Bun Ca -- $17 | 7/10 My girlfriend ordered this one, and I had to sneak a bite, of course. It's a fish noodle dish that was good, but I felt like it was missing that extra flavor element to really make it pop. Since this is a newer dish, I can definitely see them tweaking it and making it even better! Mango Sticky Rice -- $9 | 7.8/10 A little sweeter than my personal preference, but that purple sticky rice with the creamy sauce and fresh baby coconut?! DIVINE. The combination was seriously delicious--I just wish it had been slightly less sweet. And shoutout to Thomas, our waiter, who was so sweet and kind and took great care of us! What I love most is that I'm not even a huge fan of fusion food, yet somehow this place continues to impress me every single time I come back. Four visits later and they're still holding their own! Definitely one of my favorite spots, and if you're curious about their other concepts, definitely check out their other restaurants too! Beautiful ambiance and decor. Happy EATS!
