Unfortunately my friends and I did not have a good experience here. It was our first time and the place was empty after brunch hour. The hostess told us there would be a wait which wasn't a problem as the 6 of us went to the bar to order drinks. The bartender was only able to take one drink at a time. Our table was ready soon after and only one person in our group ordered and received a drink from the bar. We were seated and it took over 30min to get two beers, one drink, and one shot. The drinks came right before our food. The food was pretty bad. No flavor and weird as the pizza had eggs on it. Needless to say more as we will not be returning. read more

This place is like every other place in west gate overpriced, sticky, and slow service. The neon sign restaurants prove time and time again that all restaurants care about is being instagrammed. My friend and I sat down at a table and weren't greeted so we went to the bar. I ordered the disco bird which the glass was cute but impractical. The straw was too long for the glass and the drink itself was small for $16 totally not worth it. This restaurant like other new restaurants which are just worrying about the decor and not the food or drinks. Being instagramable should not be the main focus. The service was slow even though the restaurant was not busy. We wanted to order food but after we got our overpriced drinks no one checked on us so we asked for our bill and left. Horrible place to go and have some fun, super expensive bottles for waitress to take so long to serve you each drink for a party of 14 people. The lock the bottles that you bought, and server has to come every time to unlock for you to drink some. Fridays said Latin music but was not Latin music at all. A few weeks ago myself and some ladies decided to visit Bodega for brunch. It was very dead which was surprising since it was a Saturday at 12pm and West Gate was pretty packed. The servers was awesome and if I were to give a 5 star review, it would be because of them only. It was 110+ degrees outside and they had the AC off with the door open. This was just another thing that made the experience less desirable. I ordered a Caesar Salad and a Mango Margarita and paid $37, yes I said that right $37 and that's not including the tip. I was a bit upset because the salad was 90% Romain lettuce. My friends also ordered huevos rancheros and they were super soggy. Their 2oz condiment container that is filled half way with salsa is $3. Kind of a rip of. Also, if you're a mom, don't bring your baby here as they do not have a diaper changing station. It was empty and all the staff was standing around as we waited LONG periods of time for our drinks, food, check and all the above. Seems the staff wanted to socialize instead of take care of the customer. We would have spent more money but it took so long to get anything so we left...AND we were seated AT the bar. We went to Bodega on a Monday night we had to sit outside because the inside smelled from a sewer smell. The food was ok we got the Italian sandwich the meat was good but the cheese on top was hard and you could not cut it with a knife. My son got the poke bowl and it was a larger serving and he enjoyed it. The reason I'm giving intone star was because my husband got an 805 beer and we got our bill and were charged $9.50 for one beer!!! The menu does not even tell you how much any of the beers cost. We asked our server why so much and she just said it is crazy and that someone else pointed that out to her last week. I got a Cubano a few days ago and it's literally still bothering me how bad it was. The first time I got it it wasn't AWFUL but this was a legit disappointment recently. The bread wasn't toasted on either side, the Mojo Pork had a pulled pork consistency with none of the citrusy flavor of Mojo Verde, and there was way, way too much mustard. It was a sloppy, wet mess that was falling apart the moment I picked it up. What kind of representation of Cuban food is this? Miami would be ashamed if they saw this mess. read more
