We went to Bar Louie for an early happy hour and dinner. Unfortunately, the San Antonio location close to us has closed down. We were glad to see one here in Westgate. Hubby and I both had the Havana Classic Mojito and Dad had Lemonade. We had the combo, which came with a Side Salad, a Beer-Battered Fish Sandwich, and Donut Poppers. We all shared the Beef Sliders. The ac was not working at one of the bars next door. It was too hot to stay, so we came to Bar Louie. We came to Westgate to pre-drink and eat some food before the cardinals vs chiefs preseason game, go chiefs! The restaurant was able to accommodate 20 of us towards the back of the bar which was nice for our big group. The restaurant has big glass windows in the back so you can keep an eye on the kids if they need to run around outside. We shared cheese curds, spinach artichoke dip and pepperoni flat bread. I really liked their cheese curds, they had a nice crunch to them. I was hoping for some game day drink specials, but unfortunately, on game day they don't offer drink specials. Came here to say to watch the USA World Cup game. The place feels like a sauna and when I asked if the AC could be turned up, I was told this is as good as it's gonna get. Normally in AZ you look forward to going outside to warm up but this bar feels like I'm sat in Florida and the staff say they can do nothing about it. Not coming here anymore. The list is long. While I do understand that a game on Sunday might create a lot more patrons, I was here the night before. The level of inattentive service on both days was ridiculous ( yes, my fault for forgiving the first night's ineptitude.) We had 4 people at our table on both nights; the service was deplorable. The server forgot our drinks, left us without drinks for 20 minutes at a time, and just failed in general in serving food and drinks. We came back on Sunday (post game) and had the same server; I don't know why I wanted to repeat the same experience but I did. We came in after the Cardinals game and were sat with the same server from the night before. I was hoping that maybe it was an anomaly; it was not. I had two separate couples over two nights, both of which were frustrated and we were too. The night of the game, they had a truncated menu and half of the drink menu was unavailable. Our drinks were served in plastic cups that when we tried to stack them, we realized that they were not even the same size...meaning that they are not serving you the same amount. SMH The server spent time with conversations with people that may have been her friends but it shouldn't have been consequential. She failed so many times to stay on top of our food and drink orders, I will not be back, nor will any of my guests. Restaurants and bars are already a tough business, but it starts with ownership, trickles down to management, and end up with employees that simply don't care. 'Worst experience I have had in years. Me and my husband went here for dinner and the wait time was very excessive for them not looking as busy as they usual are. We had waited about 50 mins for 2 cheese burgers and a side of Mac and cheese. Are sever barely asked how we were doing and when we had received our food one of the burger was pink inside when we asked the sever for it to made well done. After an hour and a half our sever came when we were done and said we can't get a refund but they can remake it then we had to wait another 20 mins for the burger to still not even arrive, so we just had left and didn't end up getting are burger to go. I wouldn't recommend there is much better places around there! read more
