Went on Good Friday with the whole family (Winston the dog too) as this season has been so hectic for us all. Choose Tiki star because my wife and sister love Asian food and tiki drinks and vibes. This place just about every box imaginable, happy hour drinks(and strong)++ great open style seating+ unbelievably delicious food++ wonderful service+++. Our only negative was there was no food on happy hour and the Mac and cheese bowl was really light on meat but that wouldn't detour us from coming back due to it was possibly the best Mac and cheese any of us had ever had and all of the other food was just amazing. Can't say enough great things about this place as it was an amazing vibe hanging out in the sun wind and truly feeling like we weren't in Arizona for a few hours. To the entire team thank you for a great family night out we look forward to going back

I really wanted to love Tiki Star. Such a fun and unique concept. They serve up Polynesian themed dishes and drinks in a Tiki themed environment - what's not to love? I went with some friends for lunch on a Friday. We got there shortly after they opened and were the first ones there. The inside of the restaurant is really cute. Theming and decor are on point. Our server was great as well. Friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The food is where we struggled. Not a single dish was without flaw. Looking at the menu ahead of time there were many options that caught my eye, but the group ended up getting the following: Loco Moco Fries, Kalua Pork Nachos, Katsu Sando, Spam Cubano, and Pork Belly Banh Mi. Loco Moco Fries: fun take on a classic dish. Fries were nice and crispy, but a tad over-salted. Between the fries and gravy the dish was very salty. Pork Kalua Nachos: yummy, but the chip to toppings ratio was off. Could have benefited from more pork and more sauce. Katsu Sando: very good. The pork was super crispy! The Mac Salad on the side was disappointing though. It was definitely missing something. Spam Cubano: another good bite, although I wasn't a huge fan of the marinade on the pickles. Would get them on the side next time. Pork Belly Banh Mi: tough to eat because of the bread choice. Flavors didn't mesh well either. Despite an okay first impression, the group all agreed we would return at some point. There were a lot of other menu options which looked enticing and the service was great. Not giving up on you yet Tiki Star!

What we ordered: Zombie cocktail Longboard lager Entrees: Huli huli ribs Garlic noodles with shrimp Aloha plate (Kalua pork, rice pickled veggies and macaroni salad) Gotta say the decor is spot on with the theme I loved the interior and the service is fast and attentive, but let's get to the food ribs some parts were dry and some parts fell right off the bone , the pineapple glaze a banger on it tho tasted great and the slaw went great with it as well a lime based type I believe , then the garlic noodles dayummmmmm were those salty asf like dude was afraid he didn't put enough on or something so he put a whole bottle of salt in oh my, but the shrimp included in it were thick and paired well, the aloha platter meat was dry , rice tasted fine atleast and macaroni salad alright . I feel this might be a drink and appetizer type place instead cause the entrees hard pass but the appetizer def would have that again , plus the prices are way to steep me and my partner just talked how we got way less but paid 2 times more then at the place we went the day prior

The drinks were good. Unfortunately we didn't try any of their food. When we visited, They were out of pulled pork which is in like 40% of the menu items. We'll return to try more cocktails and sample their food.

This is a new hawaiian restaurant in Peoria at Park West. My boyfriend loves hawaiian food so we thought we'd try it out! Our server was phenomenal and personable! We got a few dishes, our favorite was definitely the ahi tacos, which came with an amazing tangy and spicy salsa! The loco moco fries were just alright, a little too salty for me, and too simple of a dish for me to really love. The pork mac and cheese was delicious and creamy but not too rich since the sauce cuts it nicely. The menu is pretty pricy for the complexity of the dishes I would say, but I would still come here again, only for takeout.

This place was fun! Definitely felt the tiki/Hawaiian vibes. I went on a Thursday evening around 6 and sat at the bar. It wasn't very busy, no wait for seating. Our bartender, (John?) was super cool and knowledgeable about the drinks. I had the dirty bird which was fun and tasted great. To eat, I ordered the Kalua pork nachos which were fine, but I think I would try something different next time. My friend ordered the garlic noodles and shrimp which tasted incredible (highly recommend).

What a fun new addition to the shopping center! Love the vibe, totally gives off vacation vibes. The drinks are so fun and delicious here! My favorite was the halo halo, soooo delicious! I also tried the bangarang and it was tasty but the halo halo stole my heart lol The food was great too! My friend got the Kailua pork sliders and man was the pork flavorful and tender. I got the Hawaiian burger. It was huge! Loved everything about it and pineapple on burgers is such a great idea. Their guava bbq sauce is truly amazing!! I wasn't a fan of the Mac salad I got for the side, it was super dry and overly packed with carrots, for my liking, I will try a different side next time. The waitress helping us was so friendly and fun! Definitely will be coming back.

I've been wanting to try this place forever and we finally were in the area this weekend so we stopped in. I was so surprised to see it nearly completely empty, but it was around 4 on Sunday. Definitely a weird time for dinner etc. we were greeted right away and waters brought to us while we decided what we'd order. We'd eaten earlier so we opted for some type of appetizer and finally settled on the potstickers. They recently updated their menu a bit we were told so if you're looking at it online it doesn't seem to show the new one. The sauce for the stickers was a type of hot sauce and it along with the potstickers were amazing! I'd definitely like to come back and try out more full meals. The food here is described as a mix of Polynesian and Asian cuisines. It's a scratch kitchen. I really love the concept. For the drinks they serve only cans/bottled beers here as well as mixed drinks. The mixed drinks are what seems to bring people in. I wasn't sure what to get so I told the bartender what I liked and he recommended the Halo Halo I believe is what it was called. I typically don't care for ube, but he assured me he'd make it to my liking. He was so correct. It was delicious. I'd definitely order it again. The vibe is cool. Decor is great. The place is quite small though. It does have a small patio area as well, but on a busy night at park-west I could see it hard to get in. I was off put by the restrooms at first because there was no sink inside the bathroom and questioned where a cool would wash their hands, but realized quickly it was right outside of both bathrooms for a more sanitary option. Great idea. A few other bars we go to also do this. All in all I'd come back. This place has nice potential!

We got here and it was dead. The place was decent size with both indoor and outdoor seating. We got the pull porked nachos, bulgogi cheese steak, and Katsu pork sando was delicious . The server is great too!

My bestfriend and I decided to try this place out as the pictures on Yelp were very inviting. When we got there we weren't sure where the entrance is or if they were open only cause the windows were so dark so it was hard to tell if they were open or closed. Eventually we found the entrance when we saw the little hidden chalkboard signage by the pole. Since it was a Friday night I figured it might be busy but to my surprise it was fairly empty. I immediately thought, well business must be slow but hey atleast no wait list to be seated. Service was good; we were greeted right away by the waitress and she was informative about the menu. She was great with providing suggestions and checked up on us to see if there was anything else we needed. The food arrived quick. The food was alright. My bestfriend ordered the Loco Moco Fries and I ordered the Spam Fried Rice as I was craving Fried rice that night. So, the highlight of the dish in the Loco Moco Fries is the gravy. I did like the fries as it was not soggy. The Spam Fried Rice was too salty, it was alright. We had to finish it though cause it was pretty pricey for the dish; I didn't want it to be a waste. For the drinks I had the Halo Halo and my bestfriend had the Bangarang. The drinks I thought was overpriced as well. I didn't love it and I didn't hate it either. It was alright. The presentation on the drinks are colorful and nicely put together. Overall, the service was great! The food and drink is okay.

A cute tiki bar/restaurant with a neat decor for that perfect island feel (but wish they'd play island music too!) Pretty big menus for both the food and the drinks - and yes, they do have the pretty drinks you'd expect from a tiki bar! Service was friendly and relatively fast. There are indoors and outdoors tables - plenty of availability on a Saturday afternoon. I enjoyed my visit and would definitely go back!

We just enjoyed our second visit to Tiki Star for my sister-in-laws birthday and I called ahead and they had two other large parties for that time but told us they would make it work. Our service for 10, including 3 children was friendly, fast, and helpful. We enjoyed a wide range of appetizers, including the moco loco fries, pork nachos, ribs, lettuce wraps, and coconut shrimp. Everyone enjoyed! I agree with previous reviews that the shrimp could be crunchier but the flavor sure is there. A lot of surprising flavors and bold sauces. We came during happy hour so a cocktail and two apps made more sense for then entrees but I can't wait to go back for the garlic shrimp noodle dish and fish and chips. The bulgogi cheesesteak was a fave on our first visit but everything has been really good. I would highly recommend Tiki Star, especially for happy hour.

Sentinel Island. A little funky, nice cinnamon flavor.

What a fun addition to Park West! The atmosphere is very fun and festive with all the tiki decor, and the entire front wall is a glass door that can be opened up to the patio when the weather is cooler. Are the drinks pricey? Yes, but worth it! You get what you pay for, and all of the drinks are made with high quality liquor. My favorite was the Bananarang but the classic Mai tai is very good and very strong. The moco loco fries were stupid good, I was obsessed with their beef gravy. They were 14 bucks or so, but the serving was enormous. The bartenders are super friendly and helpful as well. If you aren't familiar with the ingredients in a drink, just tell them what flavors you typically like and they will make great recommendations for you.

The drinks my husband and I had.

There was 1 set-up with a large projector and 2 MC's. This was my first Smash tournament, but I didn't get to stay long due to work the next day, and I didn't purchase a drink. The event was very lively and crowded, and I wished I stayed longer! Will be back to participate/spectate another tournament. Overall lively dive bar that can provide a fun but chill night out! We made a reservation online ahead of time just in case there was a rush, and we were glad we did. The restaurant is conveniently located in the Park West Plaza area, surrounded by several other businesses, and there was plenty of parking available. Upon arrival, the hostess was warm, friendly, and welcoming. She checked us in promptly and escorted us to our table right away. Our server, Laura, was absolutely outstanding. She was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to enjoy providing great customer service. She answered all of our questions about the menu and drink options, kept our beverages refilled, and cleared our plates promptly without us ever having to ask. Laura truly helped make our dining experience exceptional. Although the restaurant was moderately busy due to the World Cup game, we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly our food arrived. Everything came out hot, fresh, and delicious. For our meal, we ordered: * Two Chicken Sandwiches with fries and ranch on the side * A Jammed Up Burger cooked well-done with extra Jammed Up toppings served on the side The food was excellent. The chicken sandwiches were flavorful, and the fries were perfectly prepared. The Jammed Up Burger was also delicious. Our only minor suggestion would be that the Jammed Up sauce could be blended a bit smoother, as it was somewhat chunky. However, the flavor was still fantastic. One of our favorite features is the Happy Hour, which is offered seven days a week. We understand it runs from approximately 2:30 or 3:00 PM until 5:30 PM and then returns again from 8:00 PM until closing. Happy Hour includes select appetizers and drinks, making it a great value. There was a small discrepancy regarding the rotating cocktail pricing. Our server mentioned it was $5 during Happy Hour, while the menu listed it at $7. We're not sure if the pricing recently changed or if there was simply a misunderstanding, but it may be worth clarifying for future guests. The atmosphere was one of the highlights of our visit. The décor is beautiful, modern, and inviting. There is ample outdoor seating, which would be especially enjoyable during cooler evenings. The patio area features televisions and games, creating a fun and relaxed environment for groups and families. We also noticed what appeared to be a setup for live music. While we're not certain which days performances take place, it would be wonderful to see live music offered regularly on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings. Overall, the service, food, atmosphere, and overall vibe were excellent. Laura provided outstanding customer service, and every aspect of our visit made for a memorable afternoon. We will definitely be returning and look forward to our next visit.

Last night we went for dinner and the service was absolutely awful. The food wasn't great. I feel like this building was built on an Indian burial ground because nothing seems to survive here. The atmosphere is great. The patio music is insanely way too loud. There were only two tables with people at it so we asked if the music could be turned down a smidge as we could not hear one another at all. We were not accommodated. We ended up having to leave as beautiful as it is. I don't know if our waitress was new, but she kind of argued with my friend when she asked for warm chicken on her jalapeño Caesar. She said she didn't know if that was something they can do and I just blurted out give her warm chicken on her salad and then when her salad came, it was literally drenched in Caesar dressing. A quarter of the bowl was full as if someone forgot to actually put the salad in the bowl. My friend had to actually ask for a bowl of salad so that she can fill up the bowl and soak up the drenched salad that was sitting in the bowl. My Chicken Caprese wasn't bad but it was wrapped in very wilty lettuce that just looked gross. The french fries felt extremely hard and stale at the same time. The chicken was so tough when I was cutting it, my french fries were falling on the floor and all over the table. We sat with dirty dishes for quite a long time could not find our waitress. I will never go back here. I don't anticipate it will be open for very long. Hubby ordered the Spicy Vodka pasta. His roll was soggy as it came on the pasta (sauce) He wanted to ask for cheese but not one staff member was around to ask for the entirety of our meal. He was done before we saw our waitress again. I should have known when it was 6pm and we were able to secure a 645 reservation. Whoever owns this place should be there every day for a month and regulate what is happening there

Based on the photos online, it looked like the perfect place for our group to gather. I confirmed my reservation through both the email and text reminders. On the day of our reservation, another partner agency happened to be in town and wanted to join us. Since the website wouldn't let me modify the reservation, I called four times after they opened to see if I could add a few more people. Unfortunately, no one ever answered the phone. We decided to arrive early and ask in person. The Service When we arrived, the restaurant was absolutely packed. The hostess told us we were welcome to walk through the bar to see if we could find a table ourselves, but that they were extremely busy and likely wouldn't have anything available. After looking around, we came back and asked if the patio was an option since the misters made it surprisingly comfortable despite the Arizona heat. We were told the patio was for reservations only. When I reminded the hostess that we had a reservation, the explanation suddenly changed to, "We're on an event menu tonight." She handed me the menu while I stood at the host stand, walked away, and never really explained what that meant for our reservation or whether we would actually be seated. When she returned, instead of offering a wait time or another solution, she suggested we try Thirsty Lion down the sidewalk instead. At that point, it became clear that our reservation wasn't going to be honored. Parting Thoughts I completely understand that restaurants get busy, especially during major events. What disappointed me wasn't the crowd--it was having a confirmed reservation, receiving multiple confirmation requests, making several unanswered phone calls beforehand, and ultimately being left without a table or a meaningful explanation.
