Rack of lamb with fresh veggies

We met friends here for dinner on a Thursday evening. Doylestown is the perfect halfway point for both of us, since they live in Chester County, PA and we live in North Jersey. There was plenty of free street parking in the area. Luckily we made reservations, and we're glad we did. The restaurant filled quickly, so reservations are recommended. We were greeted cordially when we arrived and were seated promptly. Our server expertly opened our bottle of wine (BYOB) and then listed the specials for the evening. The four of us each chose a different special, and every one of us raved over our meal. Everything was expertly prepared and the presentation was beautiful. My meal (salmon with gnocci) had a sprig of fresh basil and a cymbidium orchid on top. My husband had rack of lamb with fresh veggies. Our friends had osso bucco and pasta pesto. Delicious! This restaurant is small, which compliments the intimacy of the venue. Fresh white linens and sparkling glasses and flatware topped the tables. There is a large clean gender-neutral restroom at the rear of the establishment. In spite of the distace from our house (hour and a half) we will definitely return to Bocelli's.

So.....you know you are getting awesome Italian fair when you write your review before you oder dessert. We highly recommend Bocelli's. Picture this: Old classics playing softly on the background, very attentive service, frequent check-ins, delectable freshly crafted food, and Kayley offering up som great conversation and dessert tips. Small place. We got lucky, but highly recommend reservations. COMING BACK!

Terrific restaurant and experience. Started with complimentary bruschetta that was excellent. Enjoyed a ceasar salad. Next, they served a complimentary whipped ricotta wrapped in pasta that was delectable. Entrees were seafood over linguine with their house marinara that was right on point and a bronzino in a tasty, light sauce. Only criticism is with the potatoes served with bronzino--suggestion is substitute pasta. Service was terrific. They will customize your order according to your preference and they care about their customers.

My wife and I went here to celebrate her birthday on a Tuesday evening. First the bad, we ordered a Caprice Salad. The tomatoes were not good at all as evidenced because they were a pale red instead of a bright red hue. Additionally the mozzarella was the small ball type. It was not a satisfying salad. The entree was great. I had the Chicken Di Casa which is pictured. The chicken's flavor was good and enhanced by the sauce. The sauce was very flavorful. They brought us free crepes stuffed with Romana Cheese. My wife said they were very good. However I did not try them because I am on a low carb diet. The service was great. The server explained the specials. There were quite a few of these and the server had them all memorized. She was attentive but did not hover. She was great. It is a BYOB which I like but cannot review the wine because it is from my collection. The bottom line is this is a fine Italian restaurant but I would not try another salad there. We would go back for the other offerings.

If you're looking for an awesome place to eat in the Doylestown, PA, look no further than here! With 3 complementary offerings, phenomenal service, and amazing dishes prepared to order, we all left full and feeling like "one of the family". Thank you so much for your incredible service and food.

    Salmon special.

First time diner tonight. Fabulous meal (the salmon special). Several "on the house" tastings. Terrific service. I will return!!

We had a truly wonderful meal at Bocelli's! I had the sausage and mushroom penne and my mother had the lobster ravioli (special). Katie was our server and she was awesome! My goodness she does it all! It was a Monday which I guess is a slower night but Katie Sat people, took orders, delivered food, cleaned tables, dried glasses and set tables - a real one woman show! The food was some of the best Italian I have had by far!

Bocelli's is fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone in Doylestown. The staff and owner are so friendly and conversational, and the food is always delicious. I've tried almost all specials and items on the menu and have never been disappointed. Plus, you get some freebies like bruschetta, bread, crepes, and limoncello!

Our reservation was for 7:00 p.m., and by 8:00 p.m., not a single bite of food had been served. People were tired, hungry and confused. Upstairs, drinks were flowing but food? Nowhere to be found. When we asked for just bread, we were told they wouldn't serve it until everyone was seated. The bartender (who doubled as the server) and the manager were rude, defensive, dismissive, repeating, "We've been in the business 35 years." You'd never guess it. We didn't start eating until 9:00 p.m., and honestly, it would've been better if we hadn't: - Frozen, boiled chicken with soggy canned tomatoes - Veal so tough you couldn't cut it - Watery, flavorless fish / "Family-style" pasta dumped on individual plates: reheated, cold, overly garlicky (and we like garlic), with zero balance or seasoning When the bread did finally arrive, they handed out one roll per person--and some of us are convinced they were from Costco. No butter, just a bottle of off-brand olive oil at the table. It was comical--until it wasn't. To top it off: - My mom found a bug in her salad - My brother spotted one crawling on the wall - A quarter of our group left early to feed their kids elsewhere, and staff still tried to serve food to their empty seats Meanwhile, every other restaurant in Doylestown was packed (thanks to a nearby game), yet people looked happy and well-fed. Paganini only had four tables to manage and still couldn't get it right. Then came the final insult: a surprise 20% mandatory gratuity on drink tabs. No signage, no heads-up. Just quietly added. When we pushed back, we were told, "That's just how we do things." Not only unethical, it's probably illegal in PA when undisclosed. My mother paid over $2,000 for this dinner. We wouldn't have paid $5 on the street for this food. Nothing was homemade. Nothing was Italian. And nothing about this experience reflected care, competence or customer service. Save yourself the heartbreak and go literally anywhere else.

If it wasn't for my friend who lives nearby, I would not have been there. The appetizers were just as bad. You have paper thin slices of vegetables offered, that's unacceptable. Your pasta dish was also bland, but at least it was cooked properly. You have ABSOLUTELY no idea what good Italian food is. Nobody who knows NYC Italian food would ever recommend this place. Not to mention the fact that I have an injury and had to walk up two flights of stairs to go to a bathroom. You should get a citation for not having handicapped access to a restroom. The only positive thing was the lovely waitress who served us. You're lucky you're in a German area where nobody has a clue what real Italian food is like.

The only caveat is that the dining area is small and can get loud. The meal came quick. We ordered a Caprese Salad which was great. The mozzerella tasted good and the tomatoes were red and fresh. The balsamic they used was also top rate. They split the order in 2 and served on separate plates which wa since so we wife and I did not argue about who got more. For the main cause, I had Poppy's Chicken which is always good. I like food a little spicy and this meets that bill. The sausage on top of the chicken is actually a little hot (spicy). Sometimes dishes like this do not have as much topping as I like. in this case it was perfect. Finally for dessert, we had the Barry callout chocolate cake. People in the US do not realize how good of chocolate Callout makes but you can taste it in the cake. The final good word is that this is a BYOB establishment, and we like that too because wine is always so overpriced. The bottom line is that we will continue coming here for special occasions. The food and atmosphere is great.

I'm writing this review to share my experience with customer service last night. I had ordered a pie to be delivered and it arrived not exactly the way I ordered it. I called the restaurant to voice my complaint and I spoke to the store manager, Joe. I read reviews about poor service frequently, I wanted to take the time to let people know, excellent customer service still does exist. Tonight I passed on going to Steak on State and left disappointed with Lucatelli's once again. The sandwich I had tonight was like a completely different cheesesteak from the one that originally made this place stand out, and I've noticed similar issues with other menu items as well. The inconsistency has become the silent killer here -- inconsistent portion sizes, declining ingredient quality, and a lack of attention to detail. Lucatelli's is still a good restaurant, which is why this is disappointing to see. Winning the award has obviously brought in a lot of new customers wanting to try the cheesesteak, and with that comes higher expectations. My recommendation would simply be to get back to focusing on consistency, quality ingredients, and the small details that made the place stand out in the first place. If they do that, they should have no problem being in the conversation again for next year's award.

It was all exciting about trying some very interesting dishes on the pre-fix meal, but unfortunately, it was not the stellar experience that I was hoping for. For starters, our server and "Director of First Impressions", Amber, was cold, aloof, and disconnected. She was just running through her role in a very detached manner. We made no connection with our server and the server is 50% of the experience. She was rushing. No one was there yet to take her time, and we felt that we had no connection with our server whatsoever. She didn't show any passion for the dishes other than sharing what she felt were her favorites. In a restaurant, speak in creative terms about the food, have and show passion for the food you represent. The four of us discussed the menu, and we all aligned and were going to taste around the table. Between the four of us, one tried the Thai pork dish, one the shrimp dish, and two the eggplant Parm dish. In summary, we all felt that they were underwhelming, and they missed their mark on expectation and wow factor. For example, the Thai pork dish that I had was supposed to have a Thai flair to it. If there was any, it was on the lower end of the flavor profile. It was a tiny dollop of some sort of red Thai chilli sauce, but it wasn't enough of a flavor profile to make me say yes, that's Thai-inspired, and frankly, it was lukewarm, yes the meat was tender. My wife and a friend had the eggplant Parm dish and also felt uninspired by their dishes. One was overcooked compared to the other; the two asked for additional sauce to give it some more flavor. Yes, it was a nice evening out, and you get a lot for your money with a multi-course dining experience. One other oddity. During the dessert course, which was a type of bread pudding, we were not offered coffee nor tea. Even it would have been extra, who doesn't offer a hot beverage with dessert, especially in the artic temps we are experiencing this winter. I had nearly an hour drive home, and coffee would have been most appreciated. Oh well. So in summary, I would have expected this to be a five-star review all day long. Unfortunately, it's not even close,e and this is coming from 2 couples opinion.
