This review is based solely on the fact that they could really try using modern technology (voicemail message?) to alert potential customers that they are on vacation, instead of relying on a sign on the door when you pull into the parking lot. We went well out of our way to stop here for lunch and tried about 8 times to call ahead - it's either a busy signal (probably all the other people trying repeatedly to order ahead) or it rings and rings...so we figured they must be busy and we'd just drive there. Place is dark and an 8x11 sign on the door cheerily informs us "out on vacation!" (Which I'm sure is very well deserved. But please find another way to advertise it). In the two minutes we spent in the lot, four other cars pulled in, and most were also visibly annoyed upon getting to the door, so I think it's a fair suggestion to PLEASE do something simple like leave a phone message saying you're closed! We've eaten here before and enjoyed the sandwiches, but I'll be a little more hesitant in the future to go there unless I can get through by phone first. read more

Love! It's our go to place when we want take out. They have so many options and we have tried most of them. The mushroom cheesesteaks are very good. It's not Jim's on South but really good. Their paninis are the best. Two favorites are the Flyer which includes grilled chicken, mozzarella, tomato & pesto and the Milano which is eggplant, provolone, red peppers, pesto and lettuce. Their 20" Italian hoagie is also a favorite as it is dinner that night and lunch the next day. Oh and don't forget the corned beef special. The corned beef is so tasty - not stringy or overly fatty. Oh so good. If sandwiches aren't enough, try the fries - straight or waffle - they are both good. This is THE sandwich place in Havertown. read more

Best Chicken Fingers in the world. Even better than chic fil a which I never thought I would say. Their hoagies are amazing too, I have tried almost all of them. Beautifully sliced deli meats to roast pork, cheese steaks and chicken parm/meatball hoagies. All of them fantastic. Sue handles the phones and register and from day 2 she remember my name and always greeted customers with a smile and a quick convo. They also have a fantastic 6pack selection of beer as well as 3-5 beers on tap that you can order by the growler. There are plenty of higher end snacks available, both Italian specialties and things like deserts, beef jerky and plenty of deli sides. I love this place, they have such a wide selections of made to order food and it is all good quality and very reasonably priced. The dine-in section is very small and normally full , they seem to have their regulars. I normally just get take out which never takes very long to be made and there is so much to look at in the store that you won't mind the wait anyway. The store is also great, there are so many little things tucked throughout the store that you wont' find elsewhere, a great place to pick up snacks. This is an excellent deli. Their hoagies are big and fresh, their bread soft. My regular order is a half pound of their buffalo chicken fingers with hot sauce to dip in, which doesn't sound like a very interesting order, but what makes it better here than anywhere else is the quality of their hot sauce. It appears to be a homemade mix of the Srirachi sauce and vinegar. It's fantastic. The service is friendly and the prep time is fast. The beer selection is vast and they even offer growler fills of four different, rotating craft beers at good prices. The food is pretty good but if you're planning on taking out don't ask for much dressing on anything, especially the Cheesesteaks they are really good but they get soggy along with many other things that they have. Personally I would recommend the fish and chips. Although it is deep fried heaven it's also extremely unhealthy which is obviously a given. The people there are great And they sell alcoholic beverages along beverages such as chocolate milk so it's a great place to go for a quick family lunch. I literally go to Boccella's once or twice per day; breakfast and lunch. The ownership and staff are friendly and funny. The food is great, the prices are good, and the selection is interesting. The beer selection is as good as you can get in a small deli. Sure I get egg shells in my scrambled eggs from time to time, but they are very responsive when I let them know and they respect my comments. They really know what they're doing. Tips: Try "The Whole 9 Yards" for breakfast, any of the grilled sandwiches or hoagies for lunch, or grab a beer on tap after dinner. read more
