First time eating here and wasn't quite sure what to expect from this dining and deli spot. However, from the moment you step in you get a sense that things are done right and judging by the happy faces of the patrons we were excited to try the food. The menu includes lots of options not found elsewhere but we settled on the classic Benedict served on potato pancakes and the early bird special which was a deal. The poached eggs were perfect while the potato pancakes were a welcomed alternative to the usual English muffin pairing. The potato's that came with the scrambled eggs were fluffy inside, moist, and with a nice crisp exterior--hard to do and the best I've had hands down. The coffee is Ellis - William Penn which was very good. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient even though it got busy after we sat down. The restaurant is clean and modern yet feels homey at the same time--the cutlery is placed on the table in a small white paper bag which reminded me of a scene from the movie "As Good as it Gets" ---very cool. I always loved going to Mrs. Marty's Deli for a meal. A friend and I used to go there all the time, but no more. On Sunday, July 25, 2026, the staff had a contest as to who could make the most authentic vomiting noise. This took place when a friend of mine was dining there. He said there was only himself and a few others. It was audible and disgusting. Even one of the older waitresses was participating in it. When he checked out, he complained to the desk clerk. The clerk told him to cool off or acted like it was nothing to complain about. The place is different since Marty died. I will not go there again. The staff should be fired for such a display of ignorance, disrespect and infantile behavior in front of customers. Sorry. It used to be a nice place to go. read more

I had dinner there today, Saturday, 7/25/26 at around 4:00 p.m. The food was okay, the service fine, however there was disgusting behavior on display by one of the wait staff. Apparently they were having a contest to see who could retch the loudest. Some old decrepit hag waitress was the one emitting the disgusting noises. I told them to knock it off, that her behavior was disgusting and rude. Nobody approached me to apologize at all. I will never be back at this restaurant. Just because there are hardly any customers at a certain time of day, does not give the staff the right to goof around and act in a repulsive manner. The take out order I took home was completely wrong. I happened to be in the area and picked up 2 lunches. I live about 30 miles away. The "velvet red muffin" had cream cheese and chocolate chips in it. After showing the cashier the actual chocolate chips, she insisted they weren't chocolate chips. After all that, the sandwich was 1/2 the size that it used to be. Getting take out orders correct should be a priority. read more

I'll preface this saying that I grew up near a really fantastic Jewish deli so I know I have high expectations. I was craving a comfort meal for me - matzoh ball soup and a potato knish. This is a diner feel inside and you can also order food to go at the counter. I ordered my food to go. I was asked if I wanted the knish hot or cold - I asked for hot. The soup and knish were fine but really were not special. The broth and matzoh ball could have used more flavor and seasoning. I also thought the veggies in the soup were chopped surprisingly large. Place is so so. Do not expect anything like a bid city deli. Food is fine but Matzah Ball Soup has little taste and my Pastrami sandwich had very little meat. For the prices I would expect better portions. Sandwich came with bag of chips which had about three chips inside. read more

Let's start off with the staff because they ruin the experience. The lady who works the register is as unpleasant as they come. The one day I was in there around Christmas they were more worried about scratching off lottery tickets and who gets what money than doing their job. The next time I went in there they are openly talking about the poor tips and how it was slow the night before. The other day I went in and the cash register lady was giving an old guy the business bc the asked to add something to his order. The food is ok, not bad not great. The price is a bit outrageous for what you get. If you want diner type food with some 'tude give this place a whirl. A lot better and more friendly locations nearby. read more

I never have sent back food before, but my omelette was so vile that I had to request it be returned. Damn...I've been wanting a Reuben for a while and thought Mrs Marty's was a deserving provider. Boy was I wrong! Soooo disappointing. Let's start with the fact that - while they may have toasted the bread a tad, it certainly wasn't on a griddle with the sandwich parts inside congealing beautifully together as they should. So the bread basically tasted dry and stale. On to the ingredients: corned beef that resembled leather pieces and tasted about the same. Sauerkraut that was meh and ZERO Swiss cheese. ZERO. This was the perfect little deli! A bit hard to find temporarily because of construction but the menu is full of classics. I went a for lunch and got the egg salad sandwich and it was just what I wanted, nice and fluffy with nicely toasted bread. I decided to get a quick meal at Mrs. Marty's Deli. It was fine, but nothing special. First, I came in and the restaurant was almost empty other than a few patrons. However, I was warmly welcomed by some staff members. I took at seat near the back where they had a new flat-screen TV that was showing MSNBC. Barbara, quickly came over and took my drink order. I got a chocolate milk. The chocolate milk quickly came out and it was filled with chocolate sauce. It was solid, but some diners can do much better. After that, I ordered a tuna melt with some carrots. After around 15 minutes my meal finally came out. The bread was fine and the tuna fish was delicious. However, the cheese was just some Kraft cheese they put on the top. That just resulted in a few large blobs of cheese appearing in some spot with very few in other spots. I wish they used shredded cheese instead. Before leaving I got a chocolate chip muffin. It was okay, but it was a little bland. I am a huge fan of Mrs. Marty's! Growing up with great jewish delis on every corner, I was looking forward to finding one in the Broomall/Springfield area. I've been to Mrs. Marty's on multiple occasions and always left with a smile on my face. The classic sandwiches are always delicious (e.g. pastrami on rye, reuben, corned beef, etc.). If you're someone who enjoys chopped liver, I highly recommend the mischagoss (corned beef, pastrami, chopped liver with coleslaw and Russian dressing on rye). The matzoh ball soup is a go-to, as is the whitefish salad. The breakfast specialities and omelettes are delicious too! The staff and clientele is always very friendly; the whole restaurant has a very family/home-y feel. If you're in the area I would definitely stop in for a bite. read more

Not really sure if I came here on an off day. I stopped in for lunch and got the the matzo ball soup and a sandwich. I asked for cheese on my sandwich, was overcharged for it and never got it. And the soup was freezing cold, completely inedible. The girl in the front asked me if I wanted crackers with my soup and if i wanted my sandwich warm or cold while I was checking out. I stop by mostly for breakfast and they do a solid 3 star job. A good breakfast with drink is going to cost you somewhere between 5 and 10 bucks. For example their Breakfast Special of two eggs, home fries, juice, toast, and coffee is $4.79. If you get a fancy omelet you'll start heading towards $10.00. Because they are in Lawrence Park Plaza parking is a breeze. This is a nice place to fortify yourself while running errands on a Saturday morning. read more

My family have been going to Mrs Marys for several years and its always been a crap shoot as to the service and food. Last night was so disappointing. We were ther around 6:30 , there were only 2 table other table which had finished thier meals. We(a party of 3 ) sat un-noticed by the cashier or the wait stafff. Finally, I went to the cashier who couldn't be bothered to acknowledge me so I went to the back and asked for menus. The waitress was pleasant enough and took our drink orders. I ordered a pastrami & corned beef special which was so disappointing. There was not much meat and the pastrami was almost tasteless. , the corned beef sandwich my daughter in law ordered was marginal, the creamed chipped beef was tasty but swimming in grease. Can't find that great Jewish deli you're looking for? Wondering why you can't get the great sandwiches, blintzes, and potato pancakes you grew up with? THIS PLACE IS IT!! Great food, got the an amazing corned beef sandwich with coleslaw and chop liver. Pretty much perfect. Got the Russian dressing on the side- recommend the same unless you like it a little messy. Wife got the blintzes and potato pancakes. Both great! Next time will definitely try the pastrami (big ask to make NYC quality pastrami). Also good looking knishes (again, high bar). If you don't want Jewish deli food, it looked like really good breakfast specials and more traditional sandwiches (burgers, chicken salad, etc). The ambiance is a deli, I love it, but don't be surprised if it looks a little old. That's the style. Oh, and tip well, everyone lost business (especially the wait staff) during the pandemic so up to all of us to make sure they catch up and these great independent places stay open and staffed. read more
