Raccoon eating food inside
Ronnie T.

This place is doing well, the owner is from Italy and I spent a few minutes talking to him. He opened this establishment a few years back. I was craving pizza, and stopped by. The ambiance is luxury and modern, though the owner is a bit all over the place. Constantly walking outside, watching you eat, pacing all over the restaurant, etc. It was so much going on that it was hard for me to enjoy my food. I ordered the (Di Marri) seafood pizza. It came out shaped like a starfish, it was too much for me. The concept/idea was a good one, but it was way too doughy and flavorless. It was like a pizza and a calzone had a baby. I fought my way through eating it, as I do not like wasting food. It had shrimp, mussels, as well as calamari and scallops. While I was eating, the mosquitos were having a feast too. I was wearing adidas soccer pants, and these bad boys managed to bite me through my pants which is simply wild! I'd recommend buying citronella candles, or maybe saging the restaurant when opening and before closing. Simple methods to keep mosquitos out. The final straw was when a raccoon came into the restaurant, and the owner took out a bowl of food to feed it. This disgusted me, now I honestly love raccoons and have experience taking care of them during my time working as a wild animal rescue & zookeeper in Guatemala. Though, I am also big on sanitation and cleanliness. I don't think a raccoon should be inside a restaurant, where people are consuming food (major hazard) The raccoon should have been fed outside of the restaurant. All in all, a good spot, with big room for growth and improvement.

I have to say, pretty solid pizza for a place in Mexico. I ordered for delivery so I'm not able to testify to the dining experience. I ordered a margherita/cheese pizza and their "focaccia" which pretty much was a cheese-less pizza heavy on the tomato sauce and very heavy on the herbs. This is authentic, wood-fired pizza, napoli style. The crust was very good, razor thin, and soft. The pizza was a bit cold when it arrived to us and we had no medium to warm it up, which detracted from the experience, but it was still very tasty. The focaccia was interesting but I still had 2 massive slices. This food met its fate in the hotel fridge as we were not able to finish it but I'm glad we chose this for our order in meal.

What a great little find. The staff was very friendly and helpful as soon as we walked up. They made suggestions on what to get and were spot on. The only downside of the place was the mosquitoes. We all ate. I ate pizza, they ate my legs. The ambiance was relaxed and low key and just what I need after a long day at the beach.

The staff here was so welcoming and helpful, the location was beautiful and the food was amazing. I came in and didn't realize they were just about to open but they still gave me a table and treated me with extreme kindness. I'm trying to learn Spanish but it is terrible right now but they were incredibly nice about it and didn't judge me at all. They were very attentive and put a lot of care in to make sure I had a good experience. I would absolutely go back.

Super authentic pizzeria for Neapolitan style pizza. All the ingredients like flour and olive oils are imported from Italy and the cheeses and other ingredients are sourced locally. Worth it, give it a try if you're in the area.

Good pizza and family owned! We came in and they were so nice. Good service! Good pizza! Good atmosphere! Easy parking! Easy night!

This place opens at 3PM!!! And yes, we waited til 3 PM though we were at the beach area since 11. Plenty of seats in the restaurant. Simple decorations. Easy access. If you need a parking spot, can park to the parking space close to the restaurant, just pay 200pesos. Pizza was amazing !!! The crust, Omggg so good. I legit ate more of the crust than the pizza fillings. The Waiter was very helpful, and took many pics for us! Overall I had an amazing experience. Definitely a 5/5 place

Free beer checkin offer!

Found them thanks to the Yelp checkin offer for a free beer with pizza purchase. Sooo glad yelpers have gotten this place right! Super chill environment, modern yet rustic decor, perfectly simple menu in both English and Spanish too. Everything we had was legit fire, the service was friendly and helpful as well. Only downside was that they charge an additional 5% to use a card instead of cash, but that's not enough for them to lose a star. Exceptional spot where our whole crew left happy, stuffed and would gladly go back in a heartbeat.

One of the best wood fired pizzas we have had in a while. Tulum is not the first place I think for Great pizza But do not miss Boccanera! Amazing service, cool Italian vibes. so much fun!!

There was one night during our trip we wasted inside so to speak, but thanks to a quick fired idea of a quick fired pizza night, a couple pies saved us. They were good and I'm glad we tried it. Nothing in tulum is cheap but I felt this was a reasonable treat. Next time I'll be gettin a calzone for sure. The things look sound and smell incredible.

I am a pizza maker in San Diego and I eat pizza everywhere I travel. The pizza at Boccanera Tulum is among the best I've ever had. Truly authentic Neapolitan style and full of flavor. No matter where you are from, don't miss out on this dining experience. Overpriced, which is why I am knocking off two stars, but the pizza was very good. This is the only place I liked since coming to Tulum.

The space was gorgeous... like rustic, jungle chic. It seemed a little out of place on the main strip (it looked very different than most of the other places), but that's what drew us in. They had a menu of inventive cocktails that featured local ingredients (guanabana, mango, coconut milk) and lots of different types of mezcal. The drinks were delicious and the music and atmosphere was awesome. It felt like a Brooklyn bar transplanted into Mexico (sorry if I sound like a snobby New Yorker :-)). There were only 2 other people in the bar, the bartender, Ulysses, and the owner (I think), Jonathan. They were 2 super friendly young guys. They gave us a brief history of Mezcal and told us all about the different local ingredients they used. I think this place only opened a few months ago. It seemed like business may be a bit slow, but we drove by late at night a few days later and it was pretty crowded. The crowd was all tourists, European expats, etc... no locals... I didn't even see any locals working there. I loved the bar, but I love supporting locals, so I feel a little odd giving such a colonized place 5 stars, so solid 4 stars from me. If you're looking for a cool a cool bar to have a tasty cocktail, definitely check it out.

But the dinner my daughter and I had was delicious. We were seated right away. Up to the roof top we go. There are 4 levels to this restaurant. Each has their own vibe. They have a number of rooms that can accommodate 15 to 20 people in an intimate setting. The roof top view is cool if you are a people watcher. Give it a try, you will be glad you did.

Out front of Good Burger, it was hard to tease out which menu was for what restaurant, but I guess it didn't matter because the second floor was the bar where the night cap was made and brought upstairs. Up on the rooftop, the setting was whimsical, naturey, romantic. It was great to sit on cushiony seats under dim lighting with lots of greens hanging above and on the walls. The street view below was, well, of the street. For a weekend night, it was desolate and for awhile, we had the whole roof to ourselves (minus the two servers with nothing to do). For my one drink, I selected a mojito swoon (ginger, lime). It was pretty much a very refreshing lemonade with only a slight hint of alcohol - but that's the theme in most cocktails I had in Tulum. Our poor waitress came by several times to check in on us out of boredom, which was nice, but also weird at the same time given it was clear the place was dead, so it seemed like she was coming to our table too often.

This was by far one of the most delicious meals I've experienced in a long time…read more This restaurant was directly across from our resort and we decided to try it for our last meal in Tulum and we definitely saved the best for last. We did make a reservation, although the space was surprisingly empty at 7pm. We do know we came as the season is winding down, but for how good this food is, this place should always be packed. Our waitress was delightful - attentive, helped to explain every dish and the dishes all came out quickly but nothing felt rushed. The vibe is very jungle chic with open air seating, slightly covered by large leaf structures. Lots of candles and mood lighting. The menu offered quite the diverse selection of food options with a focus on traditional but elevated Mexican flavors. We started with some signature cocktails - my husband the mustachio whiskey drink and I had the wildfire. Both were perfectly mixed with great flavors. I will note the wildfire was more tart than spiced and did come with a fun flame element (sadly no pic). Also of note, the passionfruit that is used in this drink is a local fruit that is far more tart than other passionfruit you may have experienced. If you like a tart refreshing drink, this is your pick. We shared many dishes - the first was the pork rind with street corn dip. WOW. The pork rind seasoning was absolutely delicious and the serving size of street corn was epic. So rich, so delicious. We also shared the fried avocado - truly, the local avocados are heaven sent and the pumpkin seed purée was perfectly developed and spiced. Next up, larger dishes included the corn ravioli - this was so rich, and swimming in delicious truffle flavor. The raviolis were huge and there were 6 of them. The foam and nest elements while very pretty were also equally delicious. Not something that I often say when it comes to foam on plates. Finally, we had the shrimp main - I cannot put into words how amazing this dish was. The sauce was spicy, garlicky, and clearly developed over many hours. You could taste the time put into this. The shrimp were so tender the heads and tails just fell off. It comes with a side of bread and you will want to soak up every drop of this sauce with the toasted bread. If you are looking for elevated local flavors that have been carefully and meticulously curated then you must have a meal at WILD.
