They came out not long after, 4 delicious tacos filled with tempura shrimp. The tacos had a fresh toppings of carrot and cucumber, they also came with a side of limes and salsa. We ran into this cute restaurant while walking around Tulum and let me tell you, what a pleasant surprise! We had the octopus tostadas, mixed ceviche and meatballs for lunch and we liked it so much that we came back for dinner 2 days later. On our next visit we tried the feta with grilled tomato, octopus & potatoes and the lobster pasta, and to our surprise; the pasta was made in house. Had breakfast free since I stayed at the hotel next door. Our waiter was always so nice and attentive. Pancakes and fruit were always fresh. The Mexican breakfast was so good. Their house hot sauce (it's back) was so good on breakfast! Loved the view over the ocean. Super cute spot to eat breakfast. They have dinner too, but we didn't eat there. There is no view like this one. Highly recommend grabbing a beer by the beach here. They even have bench chairs and cabanas so you can eat without missing a single ray of afternoon sun. The food isn't equal to the view, but it'll do. The Salmon Tartare tastes a bit fishy, the Stuffed Squid is creative though I have mixed feeling about the eggplant as a filling. They get props for homemade pasta, but the Maltagliati "Polipo" is a smidge undercooked but only by a minute or two. The octopus is right on, and the pesto rocks so I would probably still recommend it. I can think of worse places to have lunch. Mivida is a bit too pricey for me to go back, but the overall experience is not too bad. read more

I visited Tulum with some friends for my birthday this year, and this was my favorite dinner that we had! The restaurant was quiet on the night that we dined here, but we went after the sun had already set. We sat in the little enclosure on the beach, just past the small pool. While we could just see the moon reflecting off the dark water, we could hear the rustling waves as we dined, and it was so peaceful. We also really loved the menu. We drank mojitos and caipirhinas, and they were very delicious. Really well made. For 4 of us, we ordered 3 or 4 tapas plates, and a pasta and it was perfect! The star of the dinner was the tostada - it was sooo perfectly crunchy and the flavor of the ingredients on top were impeccable. So bright with the hint of citrus. Since the restaurant was quiet, it was quiet intimate, and would make a great romantic spot. We came for a late afternoon snack and I am so glad we did. After spending all our time (and way too much money) eating at our hotel (papaya playa) we came here. The food here is so good it made us realize how mediocre the food at papaya playa was. Salmon tartar - nice large chunks of salmon and avocado, this was one of the best things I ate in Tulum Raw tuna tostadas - great little crunchy bites with cucumber and greens and a nice sauce to drizzle on top Filet Mignon skewers - I was concerned with how these would come out since they were cooking such small pieces of meat, but it was perfectly med and juicy. The tuna appetizer was seared perfectly and tender. Their special seafood pasta was generous and delicious with a home made hand made flare. Their filet was also done to perfection with a delicious sauce over fluffy smooth mash potatoes. The *only* negative was their margarita. Definitely one of the best kept secrets in Tulum! Incredible ambiance with the most romantic, cozy and picturesque waterfront area around. The service was incredible and it was the freshest seafood! Perfect little beach restaurant! The ambience was my favorite part. I went during the evening for dinner. Candles lit throughout, sand in your toes (don't wear shoes to this place you will get sand in them, it's right on the beach) Ordered a Cabernet, the salmon tartar, tuna sashimi, steak medallions and the whole fish. Cabernet = can't go wrong! Salmon tartar = perfect kite appetizer. Great flavors through out. Tuna Sashimi = if you're a tuna person this is for you. It has crusted edges that are soooo good. Steak Medallions = they were just ok they were served on a crouton of some sort i thought was a bit weird. But not bad. Whole fish = okay this was my first whole fish experience. It was served with a side of veggies and a salad and was the best thing. Super light and healthy (which was much needed after the thousand tacos I devoured in the previous days of being in Mexico) beautiful presentation and even better tasting fish! Where do I start? The salmon avocado tartar - one of the best things I tasted on the island. It simply melted in your mouth with the perfectly toasted bread adding the perfect crunch. The filet mignon skewers were cooked to perfection, surprisingly given the size of the meat (easy to over cook). Tuna tostadas were also delicious, albeit the soy sauce should be used w caution.
