Good was ok. Nothing special but it was extremely convenient to the condo we were staying at. Service was inconsistent. Sometimes it was exceptional. Other times, not so much. One night we waited 90 minutes for appetizers. Biggest issue is that owners have dogs which are adorable... but they do their business in view while eating and don't always clean up the crap from the beach. Passing through the area we stumbled across this beach bar and grill. The owner, I can't remember her name and her daughter were awesome! We ended up going back again because of the food and service, not to mention the beach is gorgeous. We had the beef fajitas, they aren't served on a sizzling plate, however they were delicious. Guacamole is fantastic - just enough onion and garlic, homemade salsa was very fresh and we added a little of the awesome habanero to add a little more of a kick. This was our first time here. It was AMAZING! The atmosphere was wonderful, looking out on the water and their turtle nests. The food was delicious! My boyfriend and I were staying just a little ways down the beach at the Grand Oasis Tulum and wanted to try some food that was different from resort food; more of an authentic Mexican meal. We ordered coronas, an order of chips and salsa, fish tacos, and beef tacos. Abby was our server and she was great. Very friendly and did not make us feel rushed at all. The chips and salsa were very good and we added a habanero hot sauce to the salsa bowl to add extra spice. We both agreed that the beef tacos were the better of the two kinds of tacos although the fish tacos were very good as well. The beef was a thin flank steak. This place is a hidden gem, literally on Akumal beach. It's a short walk from any of the nearby resorts. The vibe is total vacation mode, and makes you feel like a local (compared to the very large resorts in the area). Drinks were very good, except for asking if they had beach service it had to be requested, being that they are on the beach ,revenues would be higher if an effort was made to cater to the adjoining hotel if which they are a part off. Catering to the beach clients were totally neglected, asked if they had beach service Abbey said yes and then neglected to follow through, if I have beach service I expect to tip appropriately and Abbey forgot ,after I went to order another round of drinks she said she would bring them out to us, I said I am already here ,I shall take the drinks back to our chairs. I could understand if she was busy at the bar but she sat around much of the time as the bar was never really busy in the two weeks that we were there. From a business standpoint having personnel catering to patrons would be much more profitable.
