Pedimos pulpo, ceviche, camarón de Campeche y todo estuvo exquisito! Zig when others zag, when the rest of the rental cars go left to the beach and tourist trap with the Euro Americanized menu, go right....to the small town of Chemuyil. Great food and even better people. We loved the pulpo, shrimp and ceviche. All the food was fantastic! A few other restaurants I need to try. Highly recommended off the path.

So delicious With the friendliest service. Was the best food on the whole vacation including Tulum spots and resorts. Have recommended friends and will go back!

Really great food and service! Great if you are staying in the Bahía Principe area and don't want to drive to Tulum or Playa del Carmen.

Definitely off the beaten path of Tulum and Akumal restaurants is this little gem. Literally a 5 minute drive from the Bahia Principe mega-complex of resorts and condos and I'm so delighted to have found it.

Extremely fresh and tasty ceviche! We got the mixto grande and it was large enough for four people to share. The service was also excellent and very friendly. Margaritas were strong but balanced in flavor. We love this place!

We spent the day at Xel Ha. We were so busy enjoying the activities that we only ate lunch, so we were hungry. I asked one of the employees if he could recommend a nearby restaurant. He sent us here and he wasn't exaggerating;... the food was exquisite. I had the Tik-kin-xic, a typical regional dish. Deeelishus!!! My wife had the fresh fish, the kids nachos and a hamburger. Believe me the hamburger and nachos were not like your normal hamburger and nachos. The meat was so fresh tasting. Carlos, the owner chef has obviously been trained but that training combined with natural talent. Service was great. People very friendly. Thank you.

The absolute best restaurant with a locals feel. Staff are welcoming, atmosphere is down to earth and the fish tacos are insane!

Plenty of restaurants on the resort but everything was just not the best. Was recommended this place from the excursion guy in my hotel and I was happy to find this place, cause the food was 10/10. After the first few days of my stay, I didn't know if the bacon was lizard and the best thing for me to eat in the resort was fruit. The fruit was always the freshest you can get and amazing, but fruit won't fill you up. I found myself taking a few bites of anything I tried and just throwing it out. After my second night of coming across this place, me and my girlfriend ate here everyday for dinner. Would of did lunch and dinner but made no sense paying for food when I was in a all inclusive resort. Came and ordered Al pastor tacos, steak tacos, and a chicken quesadilla. The pork on the Al pastor tacos were amazing and fresh. Steak tacos were amazing and the quesadillas was fresh and vibrant. Hands down the best Mexican food I ever tried. Also the fish tacos were amazing and these pork torta I tried. Everything was fresh and this place was awesome. Right on the beach with beautiful views of the ocean it's breath taking. Also the have a great selection of beers and authentic Mexican beer. I highly recommend if your staying in Tulum or Akumal. This place is just heaven on a beach and great restaurant with amazing staff.

The owner was so kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time. We're already looking forward to going back in March, and yes, my crazy self called two months in advance to make sure I got the time I wanted. Highly, highly recommend. A true gem and such a unique dining experience in Cozumel.

Cozumel in late September isn't a postcard. It's humid, a little sticky, the kind of weather that…read moremakes you earn your dinner. The restaurant is open-air, the kind of place where fans work overtime and the heat is part of the atmosphere. If you're here for polished white-tablecloth perfection, you're missing the point. This is the kind of place where the food matters, and the people making it matter even more. We started with a margarita -- simple, clean, lime-driven, the way it should be. Then a surprise: a Mexican Chardonnay that was more than just a curiosity. It was bright, elegant, and held its own against what was about to come. The tuna tataki arrived like a quiet promise -- fresh, barely kissed by flame, layered with tomatoes and herbs that tasted like they'd been picked that morning. Then came the pasta. Not just pasta -- house-made, hand-cut strands with that chew you can only get when someone's sweating in the back rolling it out. One plate loaded with clams, briny and delicate, another brimming with mussels, shrimp, tomatoes -- a proper frutti di mare. This was Italian soul filtered through the Caribbean, kissed with garlic and oil, but unmistakably crafted with care. And then dessert. A cacao chocolate cake so rich, so unapologetically decadent, it silenced the table for a moment. This is the kind of cake you remember -- layered, moist, dark, a reminder that pastry is art when it's done right. But food is only part of the story. Joel, our waiter, was the other. A young man brimming with passion, the kind of person who doesn't just serve you but lets you glimpse the beating heart of the restaurant. His pride, his storytelling, his quiet attentiveness -- it elevated the night from a meal to an experience. Would I go back? In a heartbeat. Not because it's fancy, not because it's perfect, but because it's real. Real food, real people, real sweat. And in the end, that's what matters.

A row of ATMs had reputable banks like HSBC and Santander with super reasonable exchange fees around $2 USD, and plenty of machines so you're not stuck waiting behind someone trying to remember their PIN. The store itself is massive and really well stocked. Fresh produce, dairy, perishable foods, American brand snacks, Mexican candy, and Mexican Takis that are spicier than the U.S. version (yay!). They also have a large alcohol section with brands Americans will recognize, plus local beers and mixers, including tropical juice flavors. Beyond food, they carry household items, swimwear, resort-style dresses, T-shirts, and footwear for the family plus a wide selection of souvenirs. My kids were able to pick out some shorts and tops for themselves and cute Mexican sugar skulls, keychain, and magnets for their teachers. Everything was spotless, including the parking lot and there's a restroom inside. Paying was easy with credit, debit, or cash. This place is incredibly convenient and well worth the drive. NOTES/TIPS: **From La Zebra, about a 20-minute drive. It's even closer to the larger resorts, plus downtown Tulum and the car rental area. **Parking was easy with a huge, very clean lot. **Restrooms inside. **It's set up a bit like a Walmart with specialty shops inside the supermarket itself. This location had a GNC and other shops. **Surrounding plaza has eateries and other businesses.
