Fresh robalo (sea bass) with cilantro / lemon garnish (photo Brent Elum)

Delicious food, great service, beautiful space. Food: We interviewed Guadalupe, our server, about what dish did he like the best. He mentioned the robalo filet. That's frozen? No, he said, on ice, from Celestun. We circled back, of all the food here...what's the best? The robalo, he said, with the butter cilantro lemon dressing. Wow. It was the best thing, and biggest serving I think I've had in Akumal, and really , the ood isn't the main attraction, it's the water, but that was a delicious meal. Service. Obviously Guadalupe took really good care of us. It seems as if the team works together, too. Ambiance. Well the place is beautiful, the pool, spaces. It was really windy (the port is closed), but we were underneath the seagrape trees, so it wasn't bad.

This place was excellent. The atmosphere, service and food were great. Our server spoke limited English however, others were around to assist. I had the fresh catch, sea bass, which was plentiful and delicious. The meal was a good portion however, I did ask for more rice. When in the area, I will definitely return.

The best place we ate in Akumal! Our rental was about a half mile beach walk from jungle fish and we came for lunch nearly every day. The portions and price can't be beat, and everything we ate was amazing. Delicious ceviche, the best shrimp and fish tacos. Great vibe and gorgeous view. 10/10 recommend

Beautiful place to spend an afternoon. Pool, beach and bar with a casual atmosphere. Staff are all excellent and the food is top notch. They have fresh fish daily as well as different specials. Whole fried catch of the day or lobster are my favourites. We go to beach clubs several times a week and this one is a good go to when we want to kick back and relax. We have been here many times but I thought I'd take the time to give it a quick review. PS dog friendly as well

A solid walk down from the main beach in akumal or accessible by car/cab. Great view, awesome pool, and truly a nice addition to this area. We stopped in for lunch mid day. The food was fantastic and the portions were even better. I thoroughly enjoyed my aperol spritz as well. We wanted to come back for dinner one night but didn't end up making it. Can't wait to visit again next year! I can tell this place will get more and more popular through the year.

This place was recommended to us by our Airbnb host. It's basically the beach club in a residential complex but open to the public. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is amazing. Our first time here they showed us a cooler full of fresh lobster. We ordered three and the kitchen prepared each three different ways. We then split the two fresh fish of the day, which they also prepared differently. The sangria is also very good. The second time we showed up with fresh catch we caught ourselves and asked them to prepare it for us. There aren't too many restaurants in the world that would even entertain doing this, but these guys didn't blink. They prepped our tuna sashimi style and prepared our barracuda three different ways, one of which was ceviche. I highly recommend this place if you're in between Playa del Carmen and Tulum, or if you want to get out of the tourist traps in those locations.

Definitely not impressed. Seems run down for a beach club. Not clean. Staff not attempting to clear beach area from the sargasso. Landscaping not well maintained. Skip the nachos, unless you like them drenched in runny/watery black beans. Also the ranch for the quesidillas is runny/watery and warm. Guacamole was ok could use some lime juice and salt for flavor.

This place is the best. It's located on the beach in Akumal and it's part of the Tao Beach Residences. There's a small pool, a bar, restaurant, and loungers that face the beach in the sand. You can order food and drinks, there's wonderful service here and delicious fresh food. Whether you're having a simple bowl of chips and salsa, or you're eating a delicious lunch of freshly caught (that day!) fish with vegetables, rice and salad, you won't be disappointed. The prices are moderate, and, of course, a lot less than you'd paid in the states. Hanging out here all day happens! And it's amazing, you can hang out in the pool, or in the ocean or even sit a table and work if you need to - there's WiFi. The owners are a family of folks that are friendly and put up with all of us daily! They are accommodating with the menu and I've never had a bad meal here. I'm missing it already!

Bought a home three years ago in the community where The Jungle Fish is located. While it is convenient as we can walk there, the highlight is the delicious food, friendly staff and of course the margaritas! The family friendly restaurant is both poolside and beachside, with a lovely ocean breeze. Members of the staff cruise out to the bay and catch fresh seasonal seafood almost daily. One of our all time favorite spots!!

Delicious restaurant!! Everything is fresh and service is outstanding. Everything was delicious but we had steak fajitas for lunch and fresh caught lobster for dinner.

We ordered some guac and chips and ceviche for the table. Ceviche was fresh and tasty. For entrees I ordered the seafood stew which was delicious. A lot of seafood. My husband got the large shrimp plate w chipotle sauce which was also good. Someone else in my party ordered the octopus which I'm told tasted very good. One of the few restaurants that had a range of desserts. They had chocolate cake, flan and tres leches. The flan was the best by far. The carafe of margaritas were pretty large. Our server was very friendly and accommodating.

They now have a beautiful space on the west side of the the highway about half way from Akumal to Tulum. The restaurant is clean and open. They a a nice garden area courtyard as well. The staff is attentive and efficient. Virginia the hostess was absolutely amazing and friendly. Her family has owned the business for decades. Our waiter was Alfredo who was excellent. All the food was well prepared and presented nicely. Everything we had was delicious. It's definitely aimed a bit more for the North American palette but this does not mean it wasn't really good because it was. Cocktails were made with fresh fruit juices and were top notch. I highly recommend Oscar & Lalo to anyone who is staying in the area or passing by to or from Tulum.

We went on a Saturday night and it was pleasantly relaxed, which made the whole experience even better. Alex took amazing care of us. He was attentive, kind, and always one step ahead, bringing things before we even had to ask. He also shared great insight about the restaurant and its background, which we really appreciated. The food was as delicious as ever. We always order the grilled octopus and it's a must every time, perfectly tender and full of flavor. This time we also tried a small shrimp ceviche that had a great balance of acidity and spice. We finished with the grilled fish, which was soft, fresh, and really tasty. I skipped the margarita this time, but they are also one of my favorite things to get here. We will definitely keep coming back.

I thought the fish was a little over-fried but my husband liked it that way. The grilled octopus was not overcooked, but in fact very tender, and cooked with this red sauce that made it very juicy. These were their two recommended dishes and I'm glad we got to try them. Just be careful with the water here (like any place in Mexico). I think I got sick because my drink had ice in it, which melted and contaminated my drink. Small mixed ceviche 10/10 - We were pleasantly surprised by the serving size ("THIS is a small?")
