Beautiful view on the rooftop. Food took about an hour, she did tell us it would take a little because there was another table before us but an hour seemed like a lot for tacos. So delicious! This place was right across from our hotel. I was searching for great traditional Mexican cuisine and this is the spot! I never eat chicken but for some reason I ordered the chicken lime soup and the chicken burrito. The chicken was so tender and delicious and the habanero hot sauce put it over the top. I also ordered a michelada and it was classicly perfect. The fiance ordered the beef tacos and they were perfectly medium rare, not greasy, served on pink fresh handmade tortillas and delicious tomatillo. Refugio took such great care of us when we sat down he brought 2 fans and plugged them in next to us both to cool us down from the severe heat We plan to go to Ciel tomorrow for cocktails, they have the best rooftop bar for incredible sunset views! I believe it's called ciel rose now, either way the food, drinks and shisha here are amazing. I was here about a couple wks ago and we ate here almost everyday we visited. Their shisha is okay since they use quick light charcoal and I believe al fakher tobacco but it was very smooth! We ordered tamarindo margaritas, octopus tacos and aguachiles, everything was delicious. We came for the sunset bar each day, I still miss the views! Convenient location from where we were staying, and they have a lot of great-looking fish. I wish it didn't only look great. I ordered the Pescado Caribeno because I love sea bass, but the way they made it really ruined it. Such a soft, buttery fish, get mine was dry in the middle and rock-hard around the edges. The passionfruit sauce is interesting but overpowering, and the "crispy" wild rice was rock-hard. The Tortitas de Huauzontle were surprisingly good. They were wholesome and satisfying, soft breaded veggie patties in a peppery sauce. For a place that specializes in seafood, the sea bass is just embarrassing! The tortitas show some potential, but I'm sure there are better places along the beach. read more

Stumbled into this bar during our trip looking for a spot to stow our bikes so we could walk the hotel strip. The bartender at the time was nice enough to let us stow our bikes and we ended up having several drinks and food. The bar seems to have 2 for 1 drinks all day. That day they had 2 for 1 margaritas. Very good! We had gaucamole and steak tacos. Again very good. At around 6:30 the bartender directed us to a second portion of the bar called Ciel Rose. It's a rooftop bar that operates around the evening. We had several more drinks while we watched the sunset and the DJ played music. The second time we went to the bar we were having a pretty bad day regarding a hotel experience. We had several passion fruit margaritas and talked with the bartender named Flo. My wife and I cannot say enough nice things about this guy. Great personality and very kind. He also makes amazing drinks. I can't praise the staff enough for making our time in Tulum more memorable. I would highly recommend this bar. If I was the owner I would be proud of the service, food, and drinks this establishment offers. read more

There's a lot to say about this place. Everyone in the staff is incredibly generous and welcoming from the moment you step in. Don't be afraid to ask for something that isn't on the menu. I was craving quesadillas one night and I was told the kitchen would be able to make this for me. It has an open and very relaxed atmosphere with a bar to catch any live football matches, I luckily was able to catch a champions league quarter final here when I thought I was out of luck. Puro Corazon is a restaurant that was next to our hotel. The first time we went was for lunch and we got the Caribbean guacamole, fish tacos, orangeade, and limonade. Caribbean guacamole was good, but I prefer my guac with more cilantro, lime juice, and garlic vs a sweet taste. The fish tacos were just okay. The slaw that came on the tacos helped the flavor of the tacos, but over all if was quite bland. I don't eat my food overly salty or seasoned and it was still a little boring for me. The fish was fried, but not crispy. The orangeade and limonade were okay as well. I recommend getting both drinks with sparkling water and maybe some honey to sweeten the limonade. They are both fresh squeezed oranges and lemons. They also have bug spray for customers at the bar. USE IT!! There were so many bugs (not just mosquitos) I think this was partly because it was raining when we were there. The second time we came was for dinner. We got the fish of the day. After searching, we think it's a hog nosed snapper. So ugly, but so good!!! The fish was grilled and served with rice and vegetables. It's better to ask for extra chimichurri sauce on the side to eat with the fish. I also ordered the fresh juice called relax. Loved it! Verdict: I would go back if I ever visit the same area and try other dishes. The dishes weren't bad, but they also didn't blow me away. Also, the USD to pesos conversion rate at that time was 14 pesos to 1 USD, which was not a good conversion rate. I would give it a 3.5 stars. read more

It was late, I was with my 2 best friends and we never expected to find a such good place so late. The food was amazing. I loved the octopus salad, the ceviche and the lentils salad. The fish in banana leaf was great too but nothing too compare to the others. If I go back to Tulum I will definitely have a diner over there again. read more

Stuffed pepper with shrimp ( not exactly the name of the entree) was very good, but made excellent once I added the poison ( the name of the hot sauce the waiter gave the black very hot goo- despite many attempts by me to get the actual name.) I came here for dinner a week before the winter holidays, and had no problem getting a table. This restaurant is on the jungle side, but overall there weren't many mosquitos and the ambiance was quite romantic. The night we came here, there was live music with a dancer that played throughout dinner, and we really enjoyed it. There is also a restaurant cat that walks around--if it bothers you they will shoo it away but we thought it was cute. To start, my boyfriend and I shared the shrimp which had an Asian influence, and it was perfectly crispy and not over-sauced. As a main dish, we split the fresh grilled red snapper, and holy cow it was tasty. It had lemon, herbs and the perfect about of salt and better, and we pretty much didn't leave one piece of meat left. Yes, you have to do a bit more work to navigate around the bones, but it was so tasty. Many restaurants in Tulum serve an entire grilled fish, but Puro Corazon cooked theirs to perfection--flakey yet tender and flavorful. They also have strong margaritas. Definitely recommend this place for a date night or for a night of musical entertainment and fresh seafood. read more

Our only issue was the tricky receipt that includes yr suggested total highlighted with 20% tip. We decided to just give 15 then a host picked up our payment. Not sure if our waitress actually got our tip though since 10 min later she asked if we had already paid. Sad for the waitress/bartenders. Solid eats. It was fairly empty when we arrived because a group of young folk had rented the performance area out for a private party, but it got livelier as they all showed up. The michelada was great. My wife had a spiced jalapeño drink which was phenomenal - not spicy, could taste the flavor of the smoked pepper. She had the cactus entree which she enjoyed. I had a poblano pepper stuffed with shrimp cheese potatoes carrots and a drizzle of cream. It was fantastic. Great service (although not a ton of people at the time we were there). I've been to Tulum many times and each trip I make it a point to come here. The restaurant is so laid back with lovely decor. Often they'll have live music playing which is a plus, and always good crowd. I've enjoyed it mostly on a lively weekend night when it'd more crowded and they've got good music playing. The food I think is spectacular and service is always good, but this place is especially good for vegans and vegetarians, as there are several options to choose from for the veggie in the crowd. The cocktails are decent and the juices are freshly made. They've got all the Mexican food items too like tacos and burritos, etc, and so the food is varied and definitely worth the trip when in Tulum. read more

This is a really nice, chill restaurant. Even though it's on the main drag, guests are somehow sheltered from the noise of the street so that you don't even notice it. Puro Corazon is absolutely amazing!! We kinda got forced to go there. All the ATM's for Peso's were down and its damn expensive to get US dollars from the ATM's!!! USE PESOS....my friends..... anyways. Puro Corazon was the closest place that took visa cards and I was starving. We were very nicely greeted and given the menus. After a few glances through I was drooling and wanted to order one of everything!! They have a great selection of drinks even non-alcoholic drinks and the food was amazing. The atmosphere was very nice as well and very beautiful. I HIGHLY recommend going there! We will be here for a month and I plan to try everything on that menu!! Great job you guys.
