We were only planning on having dinner then heading out to the club, but we enjoyed it all so much we ordered another coffee and just chilled for an hour more. The restaurant is set in the middle courtyard of an old Spanish type villa, but there is thought provoking graffiti everywhere, and even the menu has political poetry and statements throughout. It all certainly made for some good conversation starters; in fact the menu was so well done with literature, I asked if I could take one home and was enthusiastically told yes. Over our two-ish hours there, two different live bands played a few songs and a female doo-wop group beautifully harmonized their hearts out to lively applause. After the bands left the stage, they played a Spotify station of ChillStep music that I eventually had to ask them for, as each song was so perfect for a laid back meal and conversation. At no point was the music ever overpowering but it certainly held the attention. Mora Mora is a fantastic place to go with friends or a laid back dinner date. It takes a few minutes to find and you have to make a reservation, as it has a very 1920's speakeasy vibe. I wouldn't be surprised if the younger crowd held political meetings there. I don't speak much Spanish, but the entire experience was so outstanding, I had to use Google translate to let the Mami at the door know just how pleased we were with the entire evening spent there. 10/10 will go back.
