If you like greasy pizza that's burnt on the bottom this is the place for you . This is the third time we have had the same greasy pizza burnt on the bottom and it will be the last. The sad thing about the owner is they used to own a restaurant in Banner Elk and you couldn't get a bad meal. Absolutely outstanding food. I am from New Jersey and raised in a very Italian household so my standards are HIGH. I cannot put into words how good every ounce of this meal is. We got 4 mains and two appetizers. The fried cauliflower appetizer was very good. The avocado dip was a little heavy on the cheese. The tomato bisque side and Caesar salad sides were excellent. The baked ravioli was a little too crisp. The chicken cacciatore was very good. A create your own Feduccini with Cajun Alfredo and chicken was good but not very noticeable on Cajun spices. We were in town and stopped here based on the excellent reviews. To start with the service, our waitress did a great job, and we had no complaints. However, the food was quite underwhelming. While the portions were generous and the presentation was appealing, the taste did not match the look. The rolls were probably the best-tasting items of the night. We ordered calamari as an appetizer, but even the marinara sauce lacked flavor. The chicken Parmesan looked great but was very bland. The chicken piccata tasted overwhelmingly of wine with no hint of lemon, and like the Parmesan, it was pretty dry. Additionally, I received two rolls of dirty silverware. This place may be suitable for college students looking for a quick bite, but if you have a more discerning palate, I recommend another restaurant. read more

The menu is large and interesting. The food is good! The meatballs are outstanding, as is the meat sauce. A word of warning: their version of Sunday sauce is not what I expected. If you're familiar with Southern Italian cuisine, you know that Sunday sauce is a rich, thick meat sauce containing ground beef, pork shoulder or ribs, pork sausage, and maybe veal. It's simmered for hours. This is the accepted definition of Sunday sauce. At this restaurant, Sunday sauce is marinara, no meat. They call it Sunday sauce because the owner's family served marinara sauce on Sunday. When I explained this to the server, he said in that case, our meat sauce is what you call Sunday sauce. No, it isn't. Their meat sauce contains ground beef, that's all. The meat sauce is very good, however. The house salad is huge and very good. For dessert, I took a chance and ordered a cannolo. It was very large, had chocolate chips on the ends, and was delicious! The shell was crisp and the ricotta filling was excellent. First of all, being from out of town, we called before we got there 30 mins before they closed and Kyle welcomed us to join them, in the nicest way. When we arrive, we were welcomed with light humor and noting we were 2 minutes ahead of schedule -- which created a connection. One where you know they'll remember you. The dividing wall and acoustics for sound were perfect as you didn't hear the large group next to us. When we ordered the food...let's talk about customization! JJ was our server and she was just the most adorable. She was authentically nice, and gave good insight into what the different sauces were and how they differed. I ordered baked spaghetti bolognese and it was so good, I kept dreaming of it at night ... and had it for breakfast!!! I don't normally eat that for breakfast but if you're dreaming about it ... what else is a girl to do? lol. Garlic knots also came with the dishes and holy smokes! I couldn't get enough!! The salads that come with the dishes are massive so coming here, you will NOT leave hungry and you'll have left over for two meals after the fact. The owner is the chef and came out to check on what we thought of the food. A very sweet touch! All in all, if and when I come back to these sides of NC, they are a MUST visit! Second my son ordered Chicken Marie. 2 bites in and the chicken was very pink. We sent it back they said nothing is wrong it's just a blood vessel but they remade it. We asked to just cancel it because our whole party was done they refused to cancel. Lasagna is ok but kind of dry. My daughter ordered lunch Alfredo fettucine they upcharged her for fettuccine pasta without saying anything. Who ordered fettuccine Alfredo and doesn't include fettuccine pasta.
