We have b een here now several times. Honestly I was scared to come here at first because the place doesn't really have ANY curb appeal. It looks kind of abandoned and down right ugly sorry. However one day we really wanted some Italian food and it was the only place open so we gave it a shot. We were pleasantly surprised. It's slightly better looking inside, but the service has always been great and the food is good. Is it the best Italian food in the world? No, but it's good, especially for the price I have no complaints. When I come to places like this I like to keep it simple. I always get spaghetti and meatballs. My girlfriend is more adventurous and has tried a few of their items and they have all been good. Their cheesy bread is good also, it's basically a little pizza. So don't let the looks deceive you! Give Italy Grill a shot and I think you wont be disappointed. read more

My husband got the large meat calzone and I got the Greek salad. Both were ok, no complaints but definitely not the best of either we've had. I had a few bites of his calzone and it tasted like it was full of meatballs. Meatballs are delicious but it didn't sit well in calzone for me. He loved it and it was HUGE so it's a win. read more

I really love this place! It may not be a restaurant that a lot of people think about when they think about getting a pizza- but they should! Next time pass on the chain pizza joint and try Italy Grill! Their pizza is great. Try their lunch pizza, it's a good price. Also, they have good daily lunch specials for dining in or you can call them in. Everything from subs to pasta to really great Greek food. Was eating when a waitress pinned a women and her child right after they walked out the restroom and complained about a tip. Then ran outside after them and started yelling at the family about a tip and being completely unprofessional. The food is not good enough to deal with a staff like that. I decided it's time to re-post a newer review and add a star, mainly because the service here has improved tremendously. And if I was rating the place strictly based on their lunch specials (which I think are both very affordable and of decent quality) I'd give them four stars. Italy Grille serves "Italian food" (notice the quotes, they're there for a reason), and if you've never had "real" Italian food, this place might be the place for you! I see highly rated Italian food joints all the time, simply because most folks don't know better, and that's probably a good thing. The last thing I'd order at Italy Grille is Italian food, unless it's a calzone or something that doesn't require a whole lotta effort. Great steak and cheese, but steer very clear of what they call "Gyros." I made that mistake once, and I'll never make that mistake ever again. ------ Last review: I would give Italy Grill 3 stars if the service wasn't so poor. Like Giamaria's review, there was only one group of 3 at a table, and after sitting there for almost ten minutes, when the waitress finally appeared, I said "are you closed"? She said "no, we just finished our lunch rush" and went on to say she's been working there 7 days a week blah blah blah... I came there to eat, not play junior therapist. I asked her for a Coke, I was dying of thirst, and I almost fell over when she said "do you know what you want, or do you want a menu"? WTF? About 15 minutes after seating myself, I've finally got a Coke and a menu, and she just stood there... I said "I'm going to need 5 minutes of you don't mind". I'd had their steak and cheese sub before, but at that time I was eating with friends and had no idea I was being charged 75¢ extra for homemade chips vs fries. The sub was fairly good, only they really skimped on the "steak-um"-type mystery meat, and charged way too much for what I got. I decided in the lasagna this time. All I can say is when you've got pasta swimming in reddish clear liquid, it's been cooked as much as possible where it just can't hold any more liquid. Minimal cheese, minimal everything, except the fat lasagna pasta. I must've used a half a cup of Parmesan "shelf style" cheese just to soak up some of the liquid, and make me think I was eating lasagna. For what I paid, less the tip and tax, I could've bought a Stouffer's FAMILY SIZED frozen lasagna, that would've been leaps and bounds better than what I was served at Italy Grill, and would've had enough for three meals. Dining in at Pizza Hut is 4-stars in comparison when we're talking lasagna! I won't be going back unless I see a "under new management" sign outside. Eating out is a luxury for me, and at prices places like Italy Grill charges, I call that what it is: gouging the general public. read more

Came here after it was recommended by friends. The salad had ice crystals in it and the other food was sub par. We were sitting in a booth. There was food splattered all over the wall and the moulding. Looked like it had been there a while. There were also cobwebs in the same place. So yeah, not appetizing. read more

First time that I have been at Italy Grill. I have driven by this restaurant several times and decided to finally give it a try. When I arrived I was greeted by the waitress who told me I could see it anywhere in the restaurant. I love that so I could sit in an area that I felt more comfortable it. There were about 4 to 5 other tables there at the time and only one waitress. But the waitress took my drink order and brought me my drinks and took my order in a reasonable amount of time. I know five tables doesn't sound like a lot but that waitress was kept very busy but Always had a smile on her face and was very pleasant. The food came out pretty quick, first starting with the side salad. I wasn't very impressed with a side salad as it only came with a cucumber and tomatoes no other veggies. I was expecting that my food wasn't going to be as good based off of how bland the salad was. I was pleasantly surprised how amazing the chicken Alfredo was and the garlic bread was a great complement to the entrée! I will definitely be back again and after looking at the past reviews the Stromboli sounds like an excellent choice to try. read more

This place has great food! The pizza crust and sauce are delicious. The chicken parm sandwich was also delicious the bread was perfectly toasted. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it has no curb appeal! It looks discouraging from the outside, and the dining room needs updating. But the food made up for it. This is our go-to pizza and wing night venue! We always come in for their crispy hot wings and sweetened marinara pepperoni pizza! This place is very low-key, what you see is what you get. Nothing spectacular. Good food, well priced. Great place to being the kids for a casual dinner. read more

This used to be one of my family's favorite restaurant. Key word used to be. Their page says they close at 10. We walk in a 8:15 and the waitress had to go make sure it was ok for us to even eat there. When i asked the other waitress wrapping utensils what time they closed she responded with uh 830 or 9. We they've really went down hill since their waitresses have changed. They've lost my business. The manager is great but if the people that wait on you don't make you feel welcome why even go. I have eaten there many times before. We walked in and stood there. Waited and no one came up to us. So, we walked to the front to let someone know we were there. The one lady was nothing but rude from the start. Acting like we were a bother to her. Our waitress came to the table got our order. A friend of mine asked the waitress as she walking off what side came with it. She acted like having to let us know that fries came with the side or even asking what side was wanted. Was a problem for her. She brought me back a salad with one small tomato and one small cucumber with a lot of lettuce. Okay, cool no biggie. When our food came. My friend took a few bites of their food and started getting sick and went to the bathroom to throw up. And left the restaurant. The waitress came to the table and asked if I needed anything. I let her know what my friend took a few bites of their food and got sick. She acted like it was no big thing. She never said sorry or asked if there was anything she could do to make it better. After a few bites, my stomach started feeling not so good. I never said anything. Before I even got up there to pay. The waitress told me he much it was. Never said anything about my friend getting sick. Both ladies acted as if they just didn't care. Whatever is just whatever. I went out and told my friend how they acted. Went back in and spoke with them. The one lady said for us not to ever come back into her restaurant. Trust us, WE WILL NOT!!! The lady that told us that. She doesn't even own the restaurant. It is sad that people like that is the reason small business owners and companies go out of business and do not grow. It can't be proven that something was done to our food. Wow, just wowww.....I don't know where to start. My husband has been looking forward for weeks on trying out this place. He read the reviews, and kept saying it had many wonderful reviews. Being part Italian, and raised fully in the culture, as well as being raised in the restaurant biz, I know Italiano. The dining is very clean, organized, and was dead as a doornail. No biggie, I had a long day, and a nice quiet dinner with my sweetie is really what I needed. Can we say overwhelming? There are sooo many choices, 5 plus pages of menu, really??? Half of which I have never heard of, mainly dishes that have been improvised and called Italian. This should have been my first clue, huge menu, with country things, greek things, and Italian STYLED food. So after a few minutes, I finally picked out something safe, Bruschetta and Baked Ziti. Hubz picked out the Lasagna. Okay, raise your hand if you know what bruschetta is! Come on....anyone? This was a mini pizza brought out to me with pizza sauce stuck in the center. Bruschetta is tomatoes, garlic, fresh basil, garlic, fresh buffalo mozzerella(if you want to be fancy), all diced, and drizzled with lots of yummy olive oil and S & P to taste, then marinated in the fridge for at least an hour. Then you bake lovely toast wedges, and this is spooned onto the toast wedges. You have to marinate to let the basil, and garlic along with the olive oil marry each other. This is a cold dish, not a pizza, and by the way I didn't even taste any garlic in this pizza. Dinner came out quickly, too quickly. I say too quickly, as the mozzerella on our dinners was barely melted, and looked like it came out of the microwave. The baked ziti, had hardly any riccotta, was soupy, not firm as it should be, very bland. I asked for parmesan, so I could doctor it up, it took till after my husband finished his dinner to get this. His lasagna was also soupy, no layered consistancy, and tasted like meat, and cheese with noodles. No yummy layers of riccotta, mozzerella, lasagna, lovingly layered, and baked. Neither tasted baked, personally Sabarra serves better baked ziti than this was. I was trying to be gracious as the young lady was nice, but this was a pure dissappointment. My expectations were high until I walked through the door. I went from expecting great Italian food to hoping for something edible. The dark and dirty dining room lets you know that the staff doesn't care. There were four waitresses and one hostess on duty and the waitresses were all on break at a table in the dining room. The hostess asked me if I had a call in. It seems like they didn't want another dine in customer to deal with. (There were 3 guys at a table waiting on their order.) I decided to just get my meal to go. I ordered the meatball sub lunch special. (Meatball sub, fries and a drink, $7.00 taxes included.) While I did get my drink right away, my sub took twenty minutes. The drink was the best part of the meal. Followed by the fries. Then the ketchup. Then the sub. Pasty, processed balls of meat like stuff smothered in a marinara sauce that was just a bit thicker than water and tasted like tomato juice. No seasoning or spices whatsoever. The bread would have been great, but the watery sauce just made it soggy. The value would be there if the food was good. It just wasn't. read more

As a regular for years, and might I add observant customer of this restaurant, I must say the food is amazing. The close knit group of foreigners that run the store and take orders are only likeable to customers that only see the seemingly genuine, polite great customer service they offer. I come quite often, alone and stay awhile to eat the great food and I usually stick around and mingle with the servers, as well I observe the service a lot. I witnessed the mistreatment of quite a few young servers over the years. These servers had waited on me and most of them are hard working, genuine and don't take care of you just for a good money. I can tell most have loved their job and excell in what they do. But the two servers who have worked there for many years, one a manager, are terrible people behind their customer service fasaud. I have witnessed them stealing money off of new servers tables, I have seen the manager scorn a young server for going to the bathroom and have seen them scorn other girls for simple things such as pulling out a cell phone to check the time. Or for not doing something correctly. Yet I have witnessed these two sitting in the corner on their phones for hours, going to the bathroom as they please, standing around and do nothing while they yell at the new servers to be doing something while they sit on their asses. If they make mistakes with their tables order I have overheard them like and it on another server. I've overheard them telling other regulars about how one server never does anything and hound the server over tiny mistakes that they themselves make. They bully certain servers, mistreat them, call them out and embarrass them in front of customers. They go around lying to tables telling customers these servers are worthless and many other lies. I have been waited on by these younger servers and they are excellent, not only to me but to all of their tables. That on top of stealing money from these servers, I have noticed my bank statement not match the amount of tip I left on the receipt. I used to work in the food business and it appears they adjust tips afterwards (which a manager can do) to give themselves more money or to scam hard working employees out of their money. Also when I have came in late at night the long time servers will never, ever be doing the side work. It is always the new, naive servers whom have to do all the closing work for the front. I have noticed favoritism within the staff. The manager allows his favorites to sit around, be on their phones and go outside and take a break whenever they want, while I have seen other servers get chewed out for the most ridiculous, unnecessary reasons. So basically the manager and his favorites get to do as they please and only wait tables and go home while the other servers are working their asses off to complete every task in the store. It seems as though they hire great and experienced servers to do everything while they sit around and do as they please, along with taking other servers money off tables and from their customers. If you eat here make sure to always get a receipt if you leave a credit card tip, then check your bank statement afterwards. If you leave a cash tip make sure to hand it to whichever or hard working server room care of you. read more

The wait was an hour from the time we ordered to the time we got the food. We had 4 adults and 1 kid. The wait had nothing to do with the amount of people in the resturaunt because it was basically empty when we got there. It also had nothing to do with us having the 4adults and 1 kid because a group of 8 come in after us, ordered, ate and paid before we ever got our food. I cannot believe this place. I haven't been in a number of months and was not overwhelmed by it when I went last summer, and I thought maybe it might look a little cleaner as well. I decided I would give it another shot. That was a mistake. First, the service I received was ridiculous. I am pretty sure my waitress was racist. Why, you ask? Because there was a booth on one side of us and a table on the other side and these two tables were all white. I was with my boyfriend who is not white. We were treated like second class citizens. The waitress actually slammed my food down. It was so noticeable some of the other tables were looking with shocked expressions as she interacted with us. Second, I saw two roaches in one of the booths in the front corner of the store. These were not some little baby roaches either. These were adult grandparent types of roaches. They have been there for a good bit of time and have enjoyed lots of Italian food. I wish the roaches would have shown themselves before I ate my meal. Gag. I am sure we consumed roach feces at some time during the meal. YUCK. Lastly, when I asked to speak to the manager, a lady with blond hair presented herself. She said she didn't see any issue with our complaints and that the roaches were water bugs. Really? Come on lady, it was big old fat Italian fed roaches. I wasn't looking for a free meal but a little "I hate that, and I am so sorry" would have been nice. She stated, "my waitress is not racist and didn't say anything out of the way". Well no, she was just rude acting to us and NO one else. Duh. It was probably one of the worst restaurant experiences that I have ever had. NEVER again will I eat there. read more
