Great and cozy diner off the beaten path! I've driven past Bob's for many years and never thought to try it. So many missed opportunities! Visited on a rainy Saturday morning and enjoyed some hot coffee and quick service in addition to the food itself. Their prices are extremely reasonable and I opted for the Triple B (Bob's Bountiful Breakfast), which came with eggs, potatoes (choice of hash browns or home fries), and choice of meat and toast. The portions were hearty and the spicy italian sausage was WONDERFUL. It feels like the perfect neighborhood spot, and it was full of customers during the entirety of our visit. I won't wait long to return, and I'd like to try some lunch options next time!

We liked the old location and the new location is even better. Much larger location. Very bright. Same great food. More space. I always got breakfast here and I'm going back to that. The mac & cheese was okay, but not as good as their breakfast.

Food was bomb. Service was bomb. Only wish they had longer hours. I took my dad here and my bf here. They all like it too. Yay Bob's diner

The last several times we have ordered take out on line or phone in the orders have been wrong. It's frustrating as a customer because you out $!! Also, the portions of fries & chips are always a-lot smaller than the dine in portions yet the cost is same??? OK errors may happen from time to time.. but every single time?????

Bob's is like an old reliable. You can always count that the food will be good. Service is hit or miss, but they don't lack friendliness here. Matt and I had to take his car in for repairs and we found ourselves in Kennedy on a Saturday morning. Since there's so much flip flop right now with the ability to eat inside, we were fortunate to be one of the 25 that were allowed to be in Bobs at any one time. They also have curbside pickup. (as of 7/18/20) Matt got the mixed grill, and a side of corn beef hash and my suggestion. He inhaled it, of course. Everything was fresh and on our table in just a few minutes. I got my fave, corn beef hash, eggs, home fries and toast. After two cups of coffee and an amazing breakfast we were ready to take on the day. Only drawback this time was our server was not attentive at all. Matt was out of water and she never came back to see how our meals were. Go here and enjoy the good food anyway. Happy Eating!

cute aesthetic for a breakfast place. loved their smooth jazz music selection. it's very vibey, best to soothe your brain awake. I always appreciate when they cook the veggies into an omelette instead of just stuffing it in the middle. it ensures the food doesn't just fall apart by bite 3. the benedict was just meh. not enough hollandaise and the egg was over cooked. the egg bagel with strawberry cream cheese kinda blew me away. it tasted like a cheesecake, but the balsamic gave it a more savory kick. strange sweet and delicious. stealing the idea next time I'm forced to make brunch for a group of hungover middle aged women

While this is a local chain type restaurant. I had perfect service and delicious food at this location. Nikki our server was great and we both ordered the lunch special, a ruban and chips. I also had the stuffed pepper soup and it was delicious. The soup especially is exactly what in my opinion all stuffed pepper soup should be...like you were eating a deconstructed stuffed pepper. Will definitely be back. It surpassed my expectation. It was a bit pricey for a lunch but I don't mind paying extra for good food and service.

Waited an hour for a burger that was way overcooked and very salty. Listened to the employees complain the entire time.

From the second we walked in, the atmosphere was so charming and nostalgic, right down to the unbelievably reasonable prices. It's the kind of spot that instantly makes you feel comfortable and keeps you entertained the entire time you're there. We sat at the bar and were greeted right away with coffee and water while we looked over the menu. One of the coolest parts was being able to watch the food being prepared right in front of us - the entire vibe of the room felt lively, authentic, and honestly hilarious at times. Between the conversations, the energy behind the counter, and the overall ambiance, it genuinely felt like dinner and a comedy show wrapped into one. We ordered the vegetable omelet and the pancake special, and both came out piping hot and absolutely delicious. Everything tasted homemade, fresh, and comforting in the way classic breakfast spots should. You can tell this place has character, heart, and a loyal following for a reason. This is truly one of those spots that deserves way more attention and is 100% worth stopping into if you're in the area. And if you're a fan of Mayor of Kingstown, you definitely need to check this place out!

The restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch, and recently it set late-night hours with a limited menu. My husband and I ate breakfast here one time. An employee promptly and courteously greeted us, gave us menus, took our order, and brought out our foods. Here are my ratings for what we ate: Steak Salad - 5 stars - This salad contained fresh iceberg lettuce, mozzarella cheese, fries, steak, hard-boiled egg, delicious tomatoes, and my choice of either grilled or raw vegetables. Banana's Foster Waffles - 5 stars - This waffle was topped with bananas and sweet syrup. Yinzer Omelet - 4 stars - This egg omelette contained American cheese, onion, chunks of pierogies, and my choice of meat of kielbasa. I prefer my pierogies and kielbasa separate from an omelette, but I appreciated trying this menu item. Egg-bacon-cheese bagel sandwich - 4 stars - For this classic egg-bacon-cheese sandwich, I chose a bagel bun for an upcharge. My husband usually loves this sandwich elsewhere but said that he did not like it here. I thought that it tasted good. I appreciated the generous amount of crispy bacon. The total price was $57 plus tip. Cash only.

Spot is very cute and has tons of hilarious and eclectic things all over the walls. Service was very kind and very quick as well. Two things more to keep in mind if you're considering going. - Space is SMALL. It's great, but it's small. So on a whim, might get lucky but realistically, any usual breakfast timing on a weekend, expect a wait but hopefully you're seated right away. - Also, cash only. Cash only and when we did the math on our what our meals said on the menu to how they were added up on the receipt, it was not one to one, either tax and/or they tipped themselves. Nothing that is like shellshocking because the prices as they are were generally fair. Just paid more than anticipated after we ordered and did the math.

In fact, this was not my first time attempting to come here. I had arrived many other times and circled for a while and couldn't find parking or I would finally find parking and the line would be down outside the door. Clearly the universe was in a good mood this Sunday, because I rolled up and snagged a parking spot directly in front of the door. I felt chosen. Blessed. Like the biscuit gods had opened a portal just for me. Inside, there was no line! I manifested that on my drive in. As soon as I walked in, A super-friendly guy was cleaning tables and handed me a menu and told me to order at the counter. By the time I was done ordering a seat had become available. On to the food & beverages. I will be honest: I'm a certified coffee snob, so the iced coffee wasn't my soulmate. But the hibiscus tea? A floral little hug. Loved it. The corned beef hash with chimichurri was incredible. The biscuit that came with it? I crowned it with a glorious drizzle of sausage gravy, and suddenly I understood why people wait in long lines for this place. I would too. Happily. Then I tried the fried chicken biscuit with honey and butter plus a side of home potatoes, and let me tell you! That chicken biscuit could fix broken hearts. Those potatoes could end political conflicts. The whole meal was outrageously good. Believe. The. Hype. If there had been a wait, I now know it would have been worth every minute. Honestly, I might line up next time just for the full dramatic experience.

The Speckled Egg provided the upscale and elevated breakfast, that was a nice contrast to the rustic and local breakfast we had the next day. Our waitress was friendly and professional. He was courteous, well spoken and friendly. We sat there for about 10-12 minutes. No one approached the table. We looked over to what appeared to be a bar area and we saw two servers standing there talking and showing each other their phones. My wife said, "With our luck, one of those two is our server." Sure enough, when they were finally done talking, one came over to our table....no smile and a big audible sigh. She asked what we wanted to drink, we gave our order and she returned with our beverages. After another 10 minute wait she came back to take our order. When asked about a certain dish, came another big sigh, eye roll and and a rote description of said dish. The food arrived and one of the orders was wrong. Another wait to get her attention. We asked for the item to be redone as we had ordered it. And she even asked how we wanted it! You got it...another eye roll and a big sigh. At least she was well oxygenated! The dish came back with the very same results. On that issue we gave up. Then came the wait for the check. Once again the two servers were chatting, no heads turned to check on their tables. My son went over to get the check. When the check arrived, it was attitude city. She accused us of picking on her because she was only a server. It's obviously how she saw herself. We then asked for the manager who was quick to side with the server. She said that nothing seemed to satisfy us and that we had a problem. IN SHARP CONTRAST. I have been to the Speckled Egg on the South Side many times. From the Host/Hostess to the servers to the bus staff, everyone had a smile, chatted with their customers, laughed and it was always a great experience. The manager came over since he recognized me from being there many times and we chatted for a minute. We are talking Night and Day. Completely two different experiences from server to management styles. To me there is only one Speckled Egg and one complete waste of time (Downtown).
