This was my first time to this place, I've always seen it, but never was sure what kind of place it was and from the outside it almost looks like it's empty all the time. Anyways, we went in and it was about half full, the food smelled good and I immediately got a sense it was a 50's style diner with "All American" food fare. We were greeted and seated quickly, we had a male server that was very attentive and helpful, however I like to take my time when I'm a new place to study the menu. I ended up ordering "Chicken and Waffles". I haven't seen that option at many places outside of Hollywood/L.A area so I decided to try it. The waffle wasn't really that hot but it tasted SO GOOD. The chicken on the other hand was very hot and I had to wait a long time for it to cool down, it was probably cooked a minute or two too long as well, but it was still tasty. The only downsides were that the syrup bottle and menus were not that clean which is a turn off, and I get the feeling they're stingy with napkins since I asked the lady and she only brought us TWO. I ended up using my antibacterial hand wipes in my purse. I think they just need to work on cleaning up a bit more and possibly put a napkin holder at each table;-) The food was really good, the waiter was great and we will be back! read more

We ordered the chili spaghetti and the Bob's big boy special. The chili spaghetti was delicious as always, and you can't go wrong with the Bob's dressing on the salad. However, we noticed that they have changed the buns on the hamburgers, and they are terrible. They crumble like they are stale and it completely falls apart so that you can't hold the hamburger. Bad service, we walked in and they had us waiting like 20 min. While there was a lot of tables available. Until I asked the lady at the counter if we can sit. To get our menus took like 6-7 min. Our drinks took like at least 10 min. And our food like 25-30 while we just order a regular burger. The silverware and cups were dirty. I do not recommend to go to that location. Went for the breakfat buffet, had some friends kids with us. WAS THE BEST COICE. The kids loved it. The bacon was meaty and tasty. The food was so unappetizing that it looked like somebody's leftovers. So sad to say that I will not be going back to my favorite restaurant of yesteryear. Used to come here for a decent $12.00 top sirloin dinner. It's no longer a good deal. Under new ownership, the steak dinner is $15.99. The food tasted fine. Steak cooked just like I ordered and baked potato and vegetables were fine. Growing up in the Valley in the 70's, I always enjoyed the Hot Fudge Cake for dessert. What did they do to the cake? Food was good, not great, but good. I ordered a kids cheeseburger with fries; nice portion for my 6 year old. I myself got the big scrambler, it was a little bland and I had to add a lot of salt and pepper; portion size was good. Service was excellent, our server was attentive without hovering. Young guy, Tom, who check us in and sat us, was really nice and greeted us with a genuine smile. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because it was so cold inside. Today we found a dead bug in his salad we asked to speak with the manager. I have never been as disappointed in a restaurant as I was on Saturday night. I understand that with Covid-19, fresh food as we once knew it will cease to exist. I ordered fried chicken, and the middle was raw. The waitress offered me two more pieces but I refused since I lost my appetite after seeing the bloody inside. She refused to take it off the check. So, I was forced to pay for a meal that was inedible. I should have learned my lesson at that point, but I chose to give them another chance. I ordered a strawberry pie. IT WAS OLD! The service was totally fine, the people are very nice there, although our waitress seemed seriously confused about the omelette I ordered. When the said omelette arrived with a side of hash browns it was possibly the most disgusting food I have ever reluctantly eaten. The spinach was dry and just dumped on top, there was hardly any cheese I had to squint to find it, the egg was hard and folded like a slab and the hash browns were like dry tasteless rubber. The workers here are prejudice. I was called the police on because the lady employee said that I didn't want to pay for my meal. She told the police black peoe are bothering her and she needed assistance. She kept blaming me for my card not going through when her employee kept swiping it over and over again and my card locked it. Portions are generous and the staff were attentive. There's alot of seating, but I know I have passed it on other days with people outside waiting for their table. So for all of that, I'd give it 4 stars. Why not 5? Because it's Big Boy, just another chain diner. But it was very clean, and when I mentioned it was very cold in the restaurant, the waitress had the A/C turned down, which was nice service. So I don't write reviews that much on Yelp, but felt like I had to for Bob's Big Boy due to customer service.... Had an amazing experience earlier at this establishment. Went here a few hours ago to celebrate the end of my school semester. I was seated quickly. The waitress who helped me out throughout my experience here was named Angie. She was absolutely amazing. Angie was incredibly nice to me and very patient as well. She kind of went above and beyond for me with certain things that I didn't even ask for. As someone who works at a movie theater and cherishes customer service, I was very pleased with Angie, as well as everyone else at this Bob's Big Boy. Honestly, despite the fact that this Bob's Big Boy is about 40 minutes away from where I live, I will probably return for the customer service. Totally made my night!!! And yes... the food was great. Along time stopped by to have some late Bohr dinner with my mom ordered to Start the chili cheese fries they are awesome by the way which the waitress recommended after that we ended up ordering breakfast I got the country Fried steak and my mom got the eggs with home fries and biscuits they were all fresh and tasted good the home fries were awesome but most of all the service was great from the hostess to our server which I forgot her name. Had a great experience tonight at Bob's Big Boy in Northridge. The food was great but more than that was the exceptional service we received from Amanda. She first came by our table very shortly after we were seated. Our food was brought to the table quickly and was very hot and fresh. She stopped by our table several times during the meal to check on us. My wife's coffee never had to be asked to be refilled. She was very attentive to us and as a customer service provider myself the value of her service will always stand out.
