okay yall!! i went back to try something besides gumbo. i initially called because i saw on instagram they do oxtail saturdays. i had been craving oxtails since my last sunday funday but to my disappointment they wouldn't be ready until 5pm due to a rush earlier that day. i opted for chicken wings and fries. i placed my order otp and was told it would be a 20 min wait. once i arrived, i grabbed some drinks from the store and waited for my meal. the ambiance is amazing. the have a great playlist as other patrons were singing along. i picked up my food and headed home. i opened the box and it was like the ahhhhhh!! it had to be about 10 wings and fries. i thought it would've been whole wings but they were wing pieces. as an all flats girl, i would've paid the extra had i known. i took a bite and the difference between a flat and a drum did not matter. the chicken was crunchy and fresh. you could tell it was fresh oil because the chicken didn't have a smell. now, im not a chicken connoisseur but i love chicken. the fries were a little less crisp due to the chicken being on top but i added them to my air fryer and all was well. I paid $17.58 and it was worth the tap. i will definitely be back next saturday to try the oxtails. read more

Although it is situated within a gas station, do not let appearances fool you! Bobobs was extremely friendly and absolutely delicious. Their service was on point! When me and my wife first walked in, we were greeted with open arms and offered samples of items on their menu. We eventually settled on a half and half (which they filled to the brim), an overload pasta (which they also filled to the brim), and a sausage skewer and it was all delicious! Will definitely come back to Bobobs to try out more of their menu and would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for some delicious cajun take out! read more

It's a small mom and pop, so be sure to support local! I saw high reviews and love Cajun food so called in for an order of the Overload over rice. It's inside a Valero. The few times I called the staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. When I got there it had been raining so not much of a crowd although parking is extremely tight here. I parked near a gas pump and when I went inside the staff was immediately warm and welcoming. It's cozy inside with some tables to dine in, which I love. It's run by an awesome family working together and making home-cooked meals. They introduced themselves and the mother gave me a free sample. It was hot and fresh and so tasty. I cannot stress enough the stellar hospitality and warmth the family provides. When I tried my to go order it was fantastic, nice hints of butter and the shrimp and sausage were so hot with a nice bite to them. The meal didn't make it home and the box was empty when I got out of my car. The portions are huge for me, and I would love to return to try the chicken wings and fries. Let me get right down to business! The food and the family are flat out amazing. My wife and I visited before the playoff game this weekend. From the moment we walked up to the counter the family added two to their family meal! So sweet and giving, they had us try samples and I came in thinking fried fish and shrimp. Nah, I tasted the overload and had to have it! My wife had the hot topic, also incredible! Creamy, savory, just the right spice and prefectly cooked! We also got to try an new item that I pray comes out! The " Corn pick" is the working title. It's in the back of a gas station but don't let that fool you! They should have a location in every part of town!!! I was in the neighborhood, so came back because this place never left my mind. The location moved to the old gumbo birria spot. It's still in the neighborhood of the VA Medical Center. I think the prices went up since I visited last time. I ordered the Lobster and Steak Kabobs. It comes over white right with some sauce drizzled over it. I didn't care for it. The steak was tender enough and seasoned but it didn't resonate with me. I wasn't sure if it was lobster until I looked at the meat. I'm assuming it's been frozen but I didn't taste the normal lobster flavor I'm accustomed to. The rice was cooked perfectly but I didn't think that sauce worked well with the meats or on the rice. The owners are still just as sweet and inviting. If I'm ever in the neighborhood, I'll have to try something else. Can't leave on a miss. read more

Bobobs is a hidden gem. A friend of mine in New York tipped me off to this place through a Reddit post he had read. Sure enough, "your new favorite seafood restaurant is located in the back of a gas station" convenience store. You've definitely never smelled one this good. A friendly family runs this joint with limited seating (plates served to-go anyway) and lots of flavor (they are not stingy with the samples). Bobobs' big servings could be considered two meals, so by this metric the price evens out. You will want seconds anyway. This place, tucked away in the back of a gas station convenience store, is great. I've tried The Overload and the Gumbo. The Overload is creamy, delicious and big enough to serve two moderately hungry people. I've been here twice and will definitely go back to try more of the stuff on the menu. The staff (owners?) are super friendly and chatted with me while I waited 10-15 minutes for my food to be ready. They have a few places to sit and eat but I took my food to go. Don't overlook this place!! We got 2 overloads and a small cup of gumbo. The plates are huge and enough to happily feed two! The plates are made-to-order and are served HOT and fresh! My roommate and I were craving cajun pasta and were in front of an Olive Garden when we decided to look for a different place to satisfy our craving. We had the "Overload" and it was incredible! Full of flavor, creamy, savory with succulent shrimp and #&@! good sausage. It was just as good left over. Kudos to the chef.
