Parking is in the back off of Mentor. Do not be discouraged! The food is delicious. Support a local small businessman who works hard. Bobby ran Rick's, a Pasadena institution formerly on Walnut for years. Bobby bought the business and relocated when the Rick's lot was developed into a trendy new building. The food is the same it has been for years - great. The burritos are stars. The beef burrito is top flight. If you want a change of pace, the Spuderito (made with french fries) is for you. The cheeseburgers are fine - the mayoish dressing provides just the right distinguishing note. For a different take, try the French Burger on grilled french bread. Bobby's Place is owned & operated by the same owners as Rick's Burgers. Rick's Burgers used to be on the corner of Walnut St. & El Molino Avenue. It was an old school burger joint that many locals used to go to for a quick bite to eat. I ordered the Spuderito. It's a burrito with french fries and this red sauce they have inside. Amazing, simple and extremely tasty! In regards to the old location, apparently Greystar took over the entire corner and they are in the process of developing a mixed used building on that corner. I'm really sad to see the old place demolished however happy that their new place serves the same food, same owner & same staff. Kudos to you Bobby's Place! I will definitely be back! read more

It is home to a gem known as the spuderito - a burrito hybrid with stringy, melted cheese, fries, meat/beans, and hot sauce. PERFECTION and a whole lot of it at $3.15. And because I'm 5'5" at less than 100 pounds with something to prove...I ordered myself a second dinner - the Cheeseburger special which included a 1/4 lb cheeseburger, fries, and drink. I inhaled the cheeseburger which didn't appear to be anything special, but it made up for its looks in great flavor. All this topped off with heaping amounts of thick and fresh fries that weren't too salted (curse my high blood pressure), I was almost satisfied! And then came the orange bang...and I was happily passing out from a food coma. It doesn't get any better if you're in the mood for fast food with an emphasis on fast because my meal was prepared fresh for me in a jiffy! Staff is very friendly, patient, helpful, and courteous as well. Decor is similar to Johnny Rocket's with a little more personality - the funny sign near the register, the big clock on the wall, and the mural of well-known locations around the area. I was a little iffy with mayo in my burrito, but it was GREAT. And of course I had to get a side of fries. Here's my obligatory review for the new location listing on Yelp. Do yourself a favor, and try one of their TACO ON A BUN's and their SPUDERITO's. You won't find these anywhere else. Taco Bell used to sell Bell Beefer's many years ago, but I haven't found one that will now, as I don't think they have bun's anymore. Del Taco still sells BUN TACO's, even though they are not on their menu for some reason. But these do not compare to the TACO ON A BUN at Bobby's Place. Completely different animals. It may not sound like much, but try one and you'll see! Their regular burrito's are really good also. I think I've only ever tried their hamburger once, and thought it just average. But having only tried it once, don't go by my judgment. Once I discovered the Taco On A Bun many years ago, that's all I ever get there now. That and an occasional Spuderito. read more

All I can say is "MMMM-MMMM GOOD!" There is something about their burgers that makes my mouth water and they are the perfect place for late night feasting! I absolutely love the dining room, but, as usual, I get my orders to go so I haven't actually eaten there. It's good to see that the cooks have plenty of space to move around since the last location was super tight. I do miss the late night window, but I the food hasn't changed which is great! Parking can definitely be tricky because you can really access the back lot by cutting through Ralphs. You have to go down Walnut, pass the Ralph's, and hand a right at the next street. Be careful, though...it's a one way street. I am pretty sure that street is Mentor, but don't quote me. :) read more

Stopped by for a breakfast burrito because I was tired of another breakfast burrito business (with multiple locations in Pasadena). Bobby's was very good and worth the stop. The ROI is much better. The burrito was large enough to satisfy my large tummy and small enough to leave me hungry for lunch without a carb overload (think no hashbrowns). I purchased the breakfast burrito with bacon and my wife selected the cheese burrito. There were plenty of eggs, salsa cheese and tasty bacon. The size was about the size of the largest tortilla you could find a standard supermarket with several eggs. Both burritos were flavorful but the bacon was much more tasty. I look forward to returning for lunch in the future. Don't take my 4stars as a less than great place, I do recommend you stopping by. But the food is not on a 5star level. That said they get 10 stars for value. Parking is very easy. read more

Let's be clear this is a cut above the other fast food chains of Del Taco, Taco Bell and Alberto's. Also, my review is on the beef burrito with hot sauce and beef taco combo. Had an appointment across the street and felt hu gry on my way out. I am a lover of burgers so decides to stop by at Bobby's. Place is nice, it's small and decently clean. I ordered a cheeseburger combo and sat down. Food came out pretty quickly and was nice and hot, fountain drink had plenty of carbonation and ice. Burger looked ok but needed more of a char for my liking, it also lacked seasoning. Fries were got but also rather bland. It was around lunchtime when I dropped by and there were plenty of people coming in and out of the establishment. Overall would rate this place a 3.5, I heard many people ordering the breakfast burritos, I'm and out of town-er and would stop by again but not for a burger or fries. read more

I only wish I knew about this place sooner! Man, their food is really good. I wanted to try a new breakfast burrito spot so I just yelped "breakfast burritos" and Bobbys came up with good reviews. Since then (4 months later) I have been coming here at least 2-3 times a month! Their breakfast burrito is sooo good - it has fluffy eggs, chunks of potatoes, salsa, cheddar cheese, and your choice of meat (I usually get bacon). My next favorite thing on their menu is their 1/4 cheeseburger and their jalapeño fries. Omg their jalapeño fries are perfection and you must try (to me it's not that spicy). It comes with a side of ranch. I also called in and ordered fries with my one of my meals and the guy was nice enough to wait till I got there to pick up my order to make my fries (so that it wasn't soggy)! Customer service is great here. You can park in the Ralph's parking lot or there is another back lot (entrance is on Mentor). They take cash, card, and Apple Pay. Maybe I put too much stock into other people's reviews. I was excited to try this place because I love me a good breakfast burrito. And for the price you couldn't beat it! I don't like disparaging restaurants, particularly in the time of the Rona. But this wasn't good. Putting the salsa in ahead of time made it mushy. The sausage was kinda generic and bland, the jalapeño fries were so greasy we could see them thru the white opaque bag. It was just altogether bad. I saw an LA Times article that said this was one of the best "gringo" tacos (hard shell). I was disappointed. First, there is no salsa of any kind on the taco. I got some beans for my daughter and it came with this amazing salsa. Why not put some of that on the taco? The taco meat was pretty bland, and the amount of cheese was inadequate. Not comparable, in my opinion, to Tito's Tacos. There are much better hard shell tacos out there, that actually deep-fry their own taco shells. These are not pre-fab hard shells like at Bobby's or Tito's. The best home-brew hard shell tacos are: El Coyote in LA, La Fiesta Grande in South Pasadena, and Los Tacos in Pasadena. The filling is better at these places too. These are all amazing hard shell tacos. I will continue to seek out the best Gringo tacos. And I will try other items at Bobby's that look really good, and have that sauce... read more

Been going here since it was Rick's on Walnut and it's always bomb, that's over 25 years. French fries are always perfectly crispy and the portion is very generous. French burger with grilled onions is huge and juicy, split it with someone so you could get a crispy taco with extra hot sauce, it's just always good. Everyone is friendly enough for a fast food burger joint. Food comes out fairly quickly Food: Ordered the bacon cheeseburger combo- It was as I expected it to be. The burger is delicious and the fries are as well. However there is nothing that stands out about the burger or anything. It tastes like all charbroiled burgers should taste like. Price: Bargain! Hands down the best breakfast burrito anywhere! I've tried others and I'm always disappointed because they just don't compare to this one. I usually order the breakfast burrito with bacon and ask for well done bacon. I get the hot sauce on the side because it already comes with an amazing salsa-ish sauce inside. Having grown up on Rte 66 drive-thru burgers, I like to think that I've had enough to identify what works and what doesn't. Bobby's WORKS.
