There are not many boba shop around Folsom so it is the BEST boba in here I found. Bobaology easily becomes my favorite spot cause the drinks are always fresh, perfectly balanced, and the pearls are soft and chewy every time. I love their panda boba option (it's free black boba and agar pearl) which other boba shop will charge you double topping for that. What really makes this place stand out is the variety. Not only do they have tons of drink options, but their snack selection is perfect for when you want a little something extra with your tea. I always came to get boba and can't pass out on snack, my favorite is popcorn chicken and fried tofu but other snacks are very good too. I drank their milktea mostly every week on my 2nd and 3rd trimester and now my baby is in love with boba too The owners are incredibly friendly and nice--they really take the time to make your drink just the way you like it, and you always feel a warm welcome when you walk in. The female owner is super nice and friendly. She will remember your name and check on you to make sure you like your drink. The environment is inviting, and the store is always clean and well-kept, which makes it even more enjoyable to hang out or grab a quick treat. She understands I enjoy an intense flavor with my drinks and talks up new and/or featured items. The food is made fresh and tastes delicious!. My family loves trying the variety of drinks from the original style to smoothies. Personally, I love the fried tofu! It's in a great location. Always clean, cool strives to keep a clean restroom specifically for customers. We had a transportation hiccup and when we called she said no problem and took care of our order when we arrived. First time here, and will be my last. I was the ONLY customer so my experience should have been good if not great! Adult male took my order, asked if I wanted it sweet. He did not tell me they make their drinks loaded with ice, so I ended up with a nasty watery "drink". While I was waiting for my drink to be made, I simply stood there. The female owner came over to me snapping "Do you want something?!" She had seen and heard me order, so evidently she didn't want me standing THERE. I apologized and moved to the side. Embarrassing, but honestly I was the ONLY customer so why be bothered by me standing a few feet from the counter? Instead I was downgraded to standing on the far side out of view. I gave them compliments on their flowers and received no response. Okay, grouchy people to boot. I had a very disappointing experience here and will not be returning. The employee who helped us was very impatient with my 8 year old daughter. Her tone of voice was forceful and made my daughter feel rushed to decide what flavor she wanted. When you're serving children, a little patience and kindness go a long way. To make matters worse, when the employee asked my daughter if she wanted boba, my daughter said yes. Instead of asking what kind of boba she wanted, the employee automatically put chewy tapioca boba in her refresher, even though refreshers normally come with popping boba and the menu showed popping boba in the drink she chose. My daughter wanted the popping boba, but she was never given the choice. When I went back to politely explain what had happened, the employee became defensive and insisted that she was right, saying, "This is what she chose," rather than listening to my concern or trying to make it right. There was no apology and no effort to provide good customer service. The entire interaction felt unprofessional from start to finish. Customer service, especially when dealing with children, should include patience, clear communication, and a willingness to correct mistakes. On top of the poor customer service, the drinks weren't even impressive. The boba and drinks themselves were mediocre and definitely not worth dealing with an unpleasant experience. The interior is always looking sharp and well maintained. The staff is always nice and helpful. Quite speedy at taking orders and always getting it right. The busyness can vary depending on the time of date, yet you usually don't have to wait long for your drink. Per usual I got the house milk tea: large, 25% ice, regular sweetness, and regular tapioca pearls. The drink always hits the spot with its sweetness and the pearls just add the boba experience. Furthermore 25% ice will maximize the amount of drink, but will keep it nice and cold. The taro milkshake without a doubt has to be the best in the area. I've found the 50% sweetness hits the spot, also the pearls soar right through the snow consistency never getting stuck. Stumbled on this place after going to 99 Ranch a couple doors down. And, as a boba addict, I couldn't miss the opportunity to try someplace new. SERVICE - They are chronically short staffed (many signs all over), so no surprise there was only one guy working when I went in on a Sunday afternoon. He was pretty quick. He took 3 orders (I was third/last in line) then started making the drinks (think there was about 6). I think I waited a little over 5 min for him to make 4 drinks before mine was ready (including 2 blended drinks, which usually take a tiny bit longer). DRINKS - I got the Peach Mango Green Tea with FREE boba. Free boba was exciting to see. It's definitely on the sweet side. I don't mind as much as my partner, but I would probably opt for 75% sweetness next time. Prices were better than other boba places, especially if you get the drink of the week ($3). However, it is reflected in the quality of the drink, which is more in line with Quicklys than the newer, "fancier" boba places. This place is def no frills, but hey, if the drink is good then that's not a big deal to me. I might come back next time I go to 99 Ranch, but otherwise I would probably skip it. read more

Bobaology is a fantastic boba shop! We were at Folsom Lake when the boba craving hit, and this came up on our Yelp search. We decided to give it a try since it was close and ratings were good. Bobaology is located in the same plaza as Ranch 99 in Folsom. The shop was nice, clean, and cool. And it turned out we just happened to come in during happy hour, when drinks are 50% off! What a deal! We spoke to the owner, who was insightful about their products and gave excellent recommendations. We ordered the Black Sugar Caramel Milk Tea with agar boba, no ice and the Honey Jasmine Milk Tea. Each drink was $4.95 and the topping was $.85. The Black Sugar Caramel Milk Tea was absolutely delicious and exceeded expectations! I could really taste the delicious tea flavor and went perfectly with the black sugar caramel. The Honey Jasmine Milk Tea was also very tasty and delicious. You can definitely taste the jasmine tea, which is a strong plus. Bobaology has the same owner as T4, but offers a slightly different menu. The drinks are excellent quality and have excellent taste. The shop is clean and comfortable, with seating indoors and a few outdoors. Bathroom is not currently open to customers. They have special offers throughout the week - 1. Happy Hour Sunday through Thursday, 8pm-9pm, 50% off one drink. 2. On Wednesdays, students get 50% off one drink (with student I.D.). 3. Frontline workers get 50% off one drink on Tuesdays. 4. They also offered Buy One, get one 50% off, Monday through Thursday, for Instagram followers, but that offered might have ended. Best to check with staff. Service was excellent as the owner was helpful and made sure we liked our drinks. My friend and I got drinks and some snacks. We tried calling, but we got no answer, and it sent a text message to our phone saying that they weren't available at the time, and to message them our order. There was no confirmation text in the next 10 minutes we drove over, but we figured no worries. We got there and there was only 1 person ahead of us who had also just gotten there. It didn't seem like they were busy actually, so not sure why they didn't get our message or confirm with us. Even then, we still had to wait in line and for them to manually put our order in. Not sure if the text I'm ordering was convenient in the end. Their boba isn't that great. The milk teas didn't seem very fresh. Like the other reviewers mentioned, it seemed like powdered drink. The tea taste wasn't very strong for my oolong milk tea, and it didn't taste like oolong. It seemed more like a hint of thai milk tea mixed with another tea. The boba was also not sweetened, and was pretty bland. The drink was 80% sweet but it wasn't sweetened much at all. Probably was meant to be 100% sweet with their powder to get the optimal, not-so-watered down drink. At least their snacks were decent. We ordered a popcorn chicken and sesame balls. The popcorn chicken came out hot and fresh, and the batter was good. They provide dipping sauce but they don't put any cayenne pepper on top, which I wished they did. The sesame ball was good! Crispy, but chewy. I'd stick to the snacks here rather than the drinks. Service was fine. They are currently doing a raffle for an iPhone 12. Every drink you order is 1 raffle ticket and every snack you order is 2 raffle tickets? They also do a 10% off discount everyday if you show your frontliner badge (healthcare workers, firefighters, police officers) or if you show up in uniform. Unfortunately I have to give them a 2, not for their drinks but for the service. I came in today (as im sitting here waiting for my drinks) because I just received a discount texted to me. Literally on my text and says to ONLY show my text. But then they made me put my number in and the discount was not on my phone number?? So confused. Not my problem right? As the text only says to SHOW THE TEXT and it's avail at T4 & Bobaology. Well apparently not. And they would not honor at all.
