So I stand in line excited to try my first boba stop while back on the isle. I stood, and I stood. Workers that shift were busy taking care of whatever orders they had going on which is cool. What wasn't cool was that I was still standing...none of them said I'll be right with you, etc...then when I thought one of then were done, he didn't bother to get my order. I walked away. Whyyy....did I walk back?!? I did. I walked back in an effort of patience and redemption for them. But really, it was because my husband was talking to his cousin that was sitting right next to their stand and since I was just standing there with them with thirst on my mind...let's try it again. So I stood, again, and this time the guy said I'll be right with you. Hallelujuer. It's a taiwanese boba shop and I have no idea what that means or how different it's supposed to be. I almost wanted to go for my usual strawberry black tea, but figured since I'm home...let's go with li hing mui black tea. I wish I didnt. It wasn't good. I couldn't finish it no matter how I tried. Sometimes I can bare a flavor for the sake of, but I just couldnt. I instantly regretted my flavor choice and felt the boba gods were sending me the sign when I stood the very first time to order. More so, the boba itself wasn't anymore complimentary to the drink. A little too chewy for my liking. We order a smoothie for the kids and asked for no boba, but when the girl handed us our drinks she quickly said, oh you said no boba and asked if we wanted her to make a new one. I'm thinking you clearly remembered at some point we said no boba but proceeded to hand us our drink anyway before I even got the chance to realize there was boba in it, then ask if we wanted a new one...and all I wanna do is just get the hell out of the mall and not have to wait any more longer. No biggie if she forgot to omit the boba, just thought the service was lousy and a little lazy. But that's just me. 2 stars for my drink and the service that day. Someone could have broken a smile to the say least. I never discourage anyone from giving places a shot as one person's experience and taste buds is of their own. I couldn't walk pass without giving this place a try. The lady that helped me pick which drink was very friendly! & what she had recommended for me is what I always come back for now, the mango tea with the jelly is yummy. Does have a bitter taste at the end but however that's how teas are I'm guessing? This morning was the second time in a month that I've been at Boba Cha when they opened (9:30 am) and was told to come back in an hour (10:30 am) because the boba wasn't cooked yet. I find it dumbfounding that an establishment with the name "BOBA Cha" doesn't have their product ready to sell at opening time. Their drinks are well made and refreshing in this heat. Boba Cha looks like a really chic spot, but there's def a lot of room for improvement in their edible department. After a fun time at the factory of fun, my niece & I were thirsty & Boba Cha was right there! So convenient. We ordered a strawberry smoothie with strawberry popping boba (regular), an avocado smoothie with black pearls (large) and a winter melon tea latte with black pearls (large) as well. Each drink was pretty ok, but it could have passed the taste department with a little more sweetness. The boba tasted a bit different from the other boba places that I frequent... The guy who worked tonight at 5:45 was super rude and wanted to charge us for his mistake. Why would we pay more for him not listening to the order when we said it correctly. This guy needs some customer service training as he's unfriendly, rolled his eyes and gave attitude and you don't blame your customers and charge them more for your mistake.... and their drinks aren't even good and overpriced. Great and convenient since I work in the mall, but there are times where it's peak business time and there's only one person working. Kind of sucks because if I'm on break and it's busy with just one worker, I don't have the time to wait. Good drinks though. I came here 11 months ago and the avocado banana smoothie was delicious. I came today to rehydrate and treat myself to another one. There was only one employee working, and it wasn't busy... When I got my smoothie, it wasn't sweet, creamy or fully blended. There were crunchy bits of ice. Also, the boba wasn't sweetened, I guess they didn't put the honey syrup in. They have a large variety of drinks like fresh fruit smoothies, milk teas, teas, slushes and coffees. I have never been disappointed with any of the drinks that I have ordered but as far as the boba is concerned I mean honestly that's a real hit or miss at most places that serve boba so I won't be commenting on that. I normally order fresh fruit smoothies where ever it is that I go but here I stray from time to time. Most smoothies places use powder for non fresh fruit smoothies but this place doesn't (looks like a liquid pump) which I believe is the reason I like it because it doesn't clump or taste powdery. Definitely much smoother! Isn't that how a smoothie should taste? The taro is yummy and I also like the watermelon smoothie. They normally have samples out for you to try. Customer service is always good they're always helpful and pleasant. I will definitely continue my boba cha adventure and vow to try something different. I stopped by this boba place today cuz it looked really appealing last time I was at pearlridge. Was excited to finally get to try it so I got the honeydew milk tea bcs that's usually my go-to flavor. The girl had my drink ready pretty quick which was good, but that's about it. Flavorwise, it wasn't anything special. IMO, I would rather have the honeydew milk tea from Teatime Taiwan or Taste Tea. The taste was just okay...just enough to quench the thirst but not satisfy the craving. Oh, and another downside to my experience today (not to sound like a whiner) was that the girl told me that they ran out of lids. I think my jaw nearly dropped and I may have given the wide-eyed "OMFG are you serious?" look for like a split second before composing myself and saying, "Oh, it's okay" then walking away with my drink, sans lid, praying to God that it won't spill on me while walking back to my car. I really don't mean any disrespect to this establishment but for my first time trying them out, I was just disappointed. In fairness, the prices for their drinks seemed pretty fair, but my taste buds just would not agree that it was worth the price I paid. One of the worst boba places on the island! Called themself traditional Taiwanese tea place??!! OMG! Been passing by dz place couple times n finally decided to try since I'm always a boba tea fan.. I ordered the large size "pineapple lemon iced tea w/boba" after veiwing the positive feedback on yelp..... The drink cost about $5 after tax... So I went to Pearlridge with the family to go shopping on the weekend. We had an early lunch at CPK but I left with a hankering for something sweet and I was a bit thirsty from the pizza. I pulled up my Yelp app and saw that there was a boba place in Pearlridge Downtown...hey! right where I was! Awesome! My family went off to look at some clothing store...yeah, I really didn't feel in the mood to look at women's clothes....sorry, ladies. Walking into the mall, I looked over and I saw the boba place, I think it took over where a candy vendor used to be. It didn't look busy, just a bunch of teens waiting for their order...but hey, isn't that a good sign? Teenagers know where the good boba places are, right? Took a look at the menu and decided I just wanted something simple so I went with a plain pineapple tea, no boba (yeah, I know...sorry, boba lovers). The wait was considerably short but it came out after the teens' drinks. I couldn't wait and took a sip as soon as I received my drink. Ahhh...refreshing.... A little bit on the bitter side though...jasmine green tea, I believe but steeped a little too long. Otherwise OK, just enough pineapple juice and not overly sweet. Did it quench my thirst? Yes indeed. Would I go back again? Probably, as they have some interesting drinks on the menu that I might want to try. read more

I'm not sure how this establishment is operated, but a recent visit left me upset. At about 8pm, I, alone, approached the stand place an order. The worker, however, said they were already close. I stood there confused knowing that the mall still had an hour left of operation. Apparently, if there is only one worker, they stop taking orders an hour early. I left upset but didn't want to cause a ruckus over a drink, especially with my family waiting . I'll definitely say my peace if I go back again. I was at Pearlridge and wanted to drink milk tea. I chose this place as it was right outside of Bookoff where I went to. I wanted a chocolate and coffee milk tea. They did not have it on their menu so they made it for me. I decided to add custard to it but it costed 50cents more. Total a large drink costed around $5.50. Overall it tasted ok it somehow later gave me a scratchy irritated throat later =(... Still my favorite milk tea place is QQ on University Ave. read more

I had ordered three drinks, a papaya smoothie with coconut jelly and tapioca, honeydew Milk tea with tapioca, and lastly a winter melon milk tea with pudding (custard). Every drink was wrong, the papaya smoothie had tapioca but lychee jelly, honeydew milk tea had pudding instead of tapioca, and the winter melon milk tea had tapioca. A small mistake but made me and my friends upset our drinks were made incorrectly. Me and my boyfriend was walking around pearl ridge and came by boba cha and decided to try something . It's was cool that we were able to sample things in the front. I was gonna get the avocado banana smoothie and got to try it before purchasing it and decided that it wasn't for me which saved me from wasting my money on a drink . We ended up getting the caramel tea latte and the papaya milk tea. The drinks were pretty good . But what's supposed to be the best part of a bubble tea wasn't so good . The tapioca balls were kinda chewy and tasteless compared to other places with sweet tapioca like hula shake in kapolei . It made the drink not as satisfying . This kiosk is conveniently located on the second floor. I tried their strawberry black tea and coconut slush(both with boba). The tea was good, nothing out of the ordinary. My coconut slush was also good and had a toasted coconut flavor. However, because it's a slush, all the juice would go straight to the bottom and leave a flavorless chunk of ice to drink, lol... Also, the boba wasn't very flavorful; it was just chewy and bland. I've had boba drinks from many other places where the boba actually tasted like brown sugar or whatever. It's not a bad place for a quick boba drink, but if you really want a good smoothie with boba, then I recommend trying the boba place downstairs by Longs. Still one of my favorite boba places!! read more

This place offers a wide variety of drinks, though I have only tried the slush and milk tea. The lychee slush is delicious, but I prefer it at 75% sweetness. In my opinion, 75% allows you to actually taste the lychee and milk flavor without being overpowered by sugar. My experiences with milk tea have been a little less consistent, hence the imperfect review. Following my protocol with my order of lychee slush, I ordered a vanilla milk tea at 75%. I received a slightly watery, unflavorful drink that desperately called for an additional pump of syrup. The next time, I ordered a strawberry milk tea at 100%. That drink had a wonderful flavor (the best strawberry I've had on the island), but was much too sweet for my preference. I believe the first time, with my watery vanilla milk tea was a fluke and will return again to drinks that are less sweet. I would liken the drinks at Boba Cha as most similar to Coffee or Tea, but in a more convenient location. I would highly recommend anyone in the area to check it out! read more
