Conveniently located in downtown pearl ridge nearby the food court. They have a wide selection of milk tea, classic teas and smoothies. The prices are pretty moderate (milk teas are 3.50-4.50) (smoothies: 4.00-6.00) (classic ice teas are 3.50-4.00) toppings are an additional .50 (so if you don't like boba/jelly you save .50) They do not have a sweetness system like other boba locations which is rather unique because they determine the preferred sweetness level for us. Customer service was on point (: However something I would like to see is less ice in the ice teas because by the time I finished my drink, 3/4 of the cup was filled with ice. Overall this is a place worth trying! I visited Boba Cha pretty recently after they opened in Pearlridge Downtown. I had my eye on the kiosk for some time, wondering if their milk tea would compare to some of my favorite spots in So Cal. I first visited Boba Cha when I first moved back to Hawaii, and I was relieved to say that I wasn't disappointed. If you're craving legit milk tea and happen to be in this part of the shopping mall, I would highly recommend stopping by for a visit. The girls were friendly and they were giving out samples of the original milk tea. There were lots of other menu items to choose from as well, but since I was craving traditional milk tea (and really missed a lot of my favorite boba places in So Cal), that's what I went for ... plain and simple. My drink was ready in no time, since there was only one customer in front of me at that time. But, based on my experience and the product, I would love to return soon and check out some of the other menu items. Here's what I got: "Milk Tea": I didn't really know how different this would have tasted if I opted for green tea instead of black, but the original Taiwan-style milk tea tasted delicious to me. I liked it because it didn't have that watered-down flavor and it was cool and refreshing. I definitely had the experience before of having milk tea that basically tasted like water ... not fun! But this one was really good and I wouldn't hesitate to get it again if the craving kicked in. "Coffee Milk Tea": This was the other milk tea flavor that I was contemplating trying, but I figured I would wait until a future visit to order it. I do love coffee flavors, and now that I know that the milk tea from Boba Cha is legit, I anticipate trying this flavor one day. "Cookie Monster Frappe": I didn't see the sign/promotion for this drink until I had already ordered my milk tea, and for a split second, I wanted to change my order to this OREO drink. But, I rationalized, I would get this on my second visit. The frappes here are frozen blended drinks and I'm curious to see what they taste like. OREOs are my favorite cookies, so this would be the flavor of choice if I ever ordered a frappe. The featured photo made this drink look appetizing, and I can't wait to try it one day. Yay for another boba place in Pearlridge Mall! It's located in Pearlridge Downtown next to the kansai yamato kiosk near the escalators to the food court. When it comes to milk teas, I hardly ever stray from the original black milk tea with boba. The texture and the sweetness of the boba is most crucial to me and I was very happy that the boba at Boba Cha is delicious! The milk tea itself was on the sweeter side so I recommend customizing the sweetness to your tastes. Their menu is extensive so whether you're in the mood for a milk tea, a cookie monster frap, a sour plum lemonade, or just a plain iced coffee, they have you covered! Came to get a milk tea today and didn't realize they were no longer managed by Coffee or Tea until I ordered. My fiance and I ended up getting the usual honeydew milk tea with custard and boba and didn't really like the taste and texture. The drink had an intense powder texture and leaves a weird taste in your mouth. The powder they used was also pretty artifical and couldn't taste any of the tea. The boba was not as soft as how Coffee or Tea makes it. A bit disappointed, but at least the Pearl Kai location is still close by. read more

I tried their boba drink this week since I was in the area for my haircut. I figured after I saw that this new boba place was advertised on yelp, I need to try it. I went ahead and ordered the taro milk tea according to the worker's recommendation (it was one of their most popular drinks since opening). The service is fast. After the girl took my order, I waited 5 to 7 mins for my drink to ring up. The male server who kindly presented my drink gave me a straw and napkin. Oh and did I mentioned he knew how to pronounce my name right. Not Lisa, but Liza. The boba drink itself was delicious. The boba balls weren't too chewy or soft, but just the way I wanted. That chewy and easy to eat taste. And my boba balls didn't get stuck in the straw. In fact, my boba slurped right into my mouth with ease (Hawaii juice factory shame shame on you for having junk straws). I purchased the medium size because I wasn't sure if I would be back again for another boba drink here. I asked for the drink to be lightly sweet. Gotta watch my blood sugar, don't want diabetes anytime soon. The verdict of the new boba place: service is fast and the drink was fabulous. The price is standard for what you pay. I paid $4.50 since the boba balls are extra 50 cents. It's conveniently located in the Pearlridge mall downtown side right across from book off and foot locker. In the future, I would come back for more only this time will try different drink. If any of the readers have any favorites for boba drinks or know any new shops popping up, send me a message. Very convenient location for boba lovers like me! Located right inside the downtown phase of pearlridge mall. Taro is my favorite flavor to have with boba so I got it as a slush with boba. You could tell it was blended more than it should have because it was much more smooth and suttle than other places I've tried. Very easy to drink. This is the only place I know that puts boba on the top and bottom of the drink, which I absolutely love! You can never have too much boba! read more

Boba Cha is located in an open kiosk area on the downtown (movie theater) side of Pearlridge by Papaya and HIC Surf. They are now owned by Coffee or Tea. The one person working at the time was friendly and acknowledged customers as soon as they stood by the register. She took orders quickly then made the drinks. I ordered a Fresh Taro Smoothie and an Assam milk tea, both with boba. The milk tea tasted great, and I enjoyed their boba which was a good consistency of soft and chewy and the right amount of sweetness. The "fresh" Taro smoothie however was pretty unappetizing and tasted like a sour blended watered down powdery Taro milk. I would not recommend it to anyone and was happy I had only gotten the smallest size because it was barely drinkable and I love taro. This review was actually from a purchase back in August, but I am just now leaving a review because I found the receipt that I had set aside to contact their customer service to complain, but never got around to doing it. This was my second purchase from this location after a while ago, and i remember ordering a drink that I wanted boba in it. All of these places normally have boba included and it is extra. The guy lied and charged me extra for boba and one other ingredient that I know is normally included. I am super familiar with how these Asian establishments normally operate and what they include and knew he was lying! This shop doesn't have its own shop, it's in the middle of the mall, kind of like a kiosk. Anyways, I wasn't sure what flavor to get, but I settled for coconut. Big mistake. It was watery and had no coconut flavor. It was just very bland, it was like I was sipping bland ice. The prices at this place was cheap and reasonable. After placing my order, I waited right in front where you pick up your order. I waited..waited...and waited..started noticing people who placed their orders after me get theirs. After 15 minutes of waiting and trying to get the attendant's attention, I finally got back in line. I told him I would like a refund, I never got my drink, and haven't even been acknowledged in the last 15 minutes! The kid didn't even remember I had placed a drink order! I requested a refund, I have the receipt. It is currently 3/5/17 and I have not received a refund. Not only did I loose 15 minutes of my time, they have my $5.20 for something I did NOT get. I did ask the attendant for the manager's phone number (Kiara), I have called multiple times and nothing. I called the store today a couple of times, no answer. This is absolutely unacceptable, I know $5 isn't much, but they did nothing and provided nothing for that money. So now, I have to go back on my day off, waste more time and demand my money back. I haven't written a review in a while but thought I would because no one has mentioned alternative milks in their review and it's not listed on Boba Cha's menu. I don't like dairy nor non-dairy creamer (I'm so picky lol). I needed a pick me up this afternoon though and so I decided to ask if they had any alternative milk and they have soy milk! Unfortunately you can't get it in milk teas (they're already pre-mixed) but you can get it in their coffee drinks. I got an iced soy mocha and it was very good. My husband got the Assam milk tea and funny thing, as we were leaving he was saying it reminded him of Coffee or Tea and said it was really good. It's not my first time ordering from this place, they make the best avocado smoothies and when they wouldn't have anything available they would use something to cover up what they don't have, so I was bothered that this didn't happen. If you don't have anything available please make a note on the menu or put something that you don't have because I waited a while just to be told they don't have that ingredient and she was the only one working and I could've gone somewhere else. When ever you open up shop you always do inventory of what you have and don't have and if you run out you make sure people know because it's frustrating to be waiting for nothing. read more

It's really unfortunate that this place has horrible customer service because I think their Milk tea recipe is on point. Final string for me is when I went there last week, during holiday shopping, on a Saturday and there was a sign that said "Will be back shortly". I was thinking maybe they went to the restroom or went to grab lunch so we stuck around. More than 30 minutes went by, there were 3 customers waiting and no one showed up. I am a HUGE fan of Coffee or Tea, so I was excited that they now have a location in Pearl Ridge. However, I was told that they have changed the type of tea they use for their milk tea (at all locations). It seems to be more floral to me. I ordered a strawberry fruit smoothie and a taro slush with mix jellies (because no boba available). the drinks were delicious! Giving this place a second chance, had a talk with the owner today as I happened to be nearby and needed a house iced coffee. She apologized for the one employee that was disrespectful to me a couple weeks ago. There are samples now being given and I favor the winter melon tea latte. Never heard of a vanilla milk tea, it wasn't for me but I'm sure someone would like it. The pina colada is good for kids, and avocado smoothie (I like mine mixed with Honeydew) is good. Hopefully in the future there will be mini boba, but other than that this place is worth the visit if you're in Downtown Pearlridge. Nothing too special about boba spot. I ordered the peach black tea with lychee jelly, watermelon smoothie, and honey dew smoothie and it came out to a little over $18.00. Too expensive for something so basic. It wasn't bad- but I definitely didn't taste $20 worth. My peach black tasted like brisk peach teach- too much sweetener. My daughters honeydew was okay- nothing out the ordinary, and my Moms watermelon was basically blended watermelon- which I guess is okay since the advertisement says FRESH FRUIT. tried this place out today. they are super unsantized. they touch the inside of the cups and they dont have any plastic packaging for their straws.their employees will use their hands to grab straws for you. My family & I was at the mall & saw Boba Cha. Thought we give it a try & I'm really impressed. I ordered a mango slushy & it was very good. I believe it was powder & not fresh fruit but it tasted like a fresh fruit. The price was very reasonable because I know other places charge the same or more. It's alright, a little on the pricier side for the large size that looked more like a small/regular size. I've been to many boba tea establishments and there just wasn't anything spectacular or memorable about this place that would make me go out of my way (or even if I was in the area for that matter) to stop by and get a boba tea from here. Not the biggest fan of this place; I should've read these reviews before deciding to go here. I ordered the black tea latte with boba. In my opinion, there wasn't enough milk for me so I had to put more in when I got home and there's not enough boba- three sips in and it's almost gone, not worth the 0.50 add on. Also, the boba was over cooked or prepared, it's more of a mush that having a little bite to them. There was nobody in line and it took about 10 minutes for them to make my drink. I'm glad they took their time to make sure the drink was right, but stopping to check your phone and talking with the other employees is a pet peeve of mine. Also, the employees attitude was terrible. There were two workers tonight that would whisper to each other and look back at me as if I did something wrong but I didn't know these two. I think they were too interested in talking about their customers than the drink making. Am I the only person in Hawaii that doesn't care for boba? Well this review is for all their non-boba teas and smoothies if anybody else out there cares! I'm so happy this place is in Pearlridge! They are always handing out samples of different teas and omg they are all so good. I love their slushies, fresh fruit smoothies, and just plain green or black iced teas. All of the flavors are so yummy. I usually get them a little less sweetened and that's never a problem at all. The staff are always super friendly and helpful with helping me pick out a new tea to try. Actually I think I've almost tried all of the non boba/milk teas so far! Always wanted to try Boba Cha since I first saw it on Yelp. I tried their Honeydew Milk Tea w/ pearls and a Honeydew Slush w/pearls. Both costs around $10 plus tax. They charge an extra $0.50 for tapioca pearls. Both drinks were okay. I wouldn't go out of my way just to go here again. I prefer going to Hula Boba for a bubble drink. Im also turned off by Boba Cha as I saw the employee spill some of my drink on the counter and used a cloth to wipe the spill then wipe around my drink! Gross! read more
