I got the brown sugar milk tea with boba ($7) to go. I asked for 75% sweetness and regular ice. I thought it was on the pricy side for the quality. The milk tea was moderately creamy and light on tea flavor. I appreciated its classic milk tea flavor, though it got a little lost the more I kept drinking it. As for the brown sugar boba, it was lightly sweetened. It was neither flavorless nor flavorful, if that makes sense. The pearls were chewy and softer than I prefer. Before leaving the shop, I admired the plant wall and light decoration (very Instagrammable). However, the music was too loud for my ears. I wouldn't be able to stay for an extended period of time.

Ambiance is everything here. When you walk in, there's a table with printed menus and an iPad to self-order. The menus have pictures of all the drinks so the visual aid is appreciated. After ordering, you can take a seat in the large space with plenty of tables. I like that there are board games provided, a touch screen game table, and even a kid zone. There is also a crane game and Photo Booth! The strips range $6-$8 but you can get a coupon when you order a drink. The staff is concealed in the back behind curtains and they only come out to serve drinks so the atmosphere feels like you can just hang out without being watched. They have fun snacks in the front for sale as well. Something cool about the shop is you can pay extra to put your drink in a surprise cup - the cup comes with a boba plush! I got a honeydew tea with boba and a green milk tea with boba. The honeydew wasn't too sweet and didn't taste powdery at all. The green milk tea did have a herbal taste and the boba was cooked well. The parking options seem to be street but also there's a huge plaza parking lot across the street that is easy. Bathroom was easy to find and was clean.

I experienced Boba Box last weekend as a guest at a private event. (The space was rented out.) Emily and Katherine were running the show and doing a great job of making everyone's drinks. The Okinawa Black Milk tea with boba was good, but it tasted like a brown sugar milk tea so I'm not sure what is special about the okinawa sugar specifically. That aside though, I enjoyed my drink thoroughly. Not watery or too sweet. The matcha oreo latte was good, but needed more sweetness for my taste. The matcha was strong! This is a good option for someone who prefers a less sweet taste. I do wish it had more oreo too. There are BOGO deals at select hours and a student discount. There are many tables and games to play in the shop. I like the concept and consistent theming with the box cup shape. It's very cute and fun to drink from.

This place is quite cute. It's clam and a great place to do some studying. Theu have games and a photo booth! There's a tablet to order from but it wasn't working today. The staff was nice and friendly. I got the yuzu yuzu drink. It was a bit sweet and that was with me getting 75% sweet. But it was refreshing during a hot day! This place it worth a try if you're around the area.

Boba Box has good (but not great) tea! This seems like a nice place to sit and study, and they have WiFi passwords on each table. The tea was a solid option-it'll hit the spot if you want a refreshing drink or boba, but it's not "special". My biggest problem is the cups. It's fun that they're square since it's called Boba Box, but the drinks do not fit into a standard car cup holder. I had a very precarious drive home!

I got this lychee shit and no shade but that shih was bad like it tasted minty asf my friend also got brown sugar milk tea and it basically tastes like freaking water. Those 7 dollars I spent were the worst 7 dollars I've ever spent on anything. Like dead ah it tasted like 50%boba and 50% bounce that ass. I should've known better because every time I go to this place it's always bad. Peace out and also peace and love. I'm dead serious.

3.5 stars, rounding up! We decided to visit Boba Box since it was one of the few boba shops open late at night. I ordered the Okinawa Milk Tea at 50% sweetness and thought it was decent! I usually order drinks at 50% sweetness, but this one tasted more watered-down than other spots I've had it at. There's plenty of street parking, and the space is HUGE - lots of tables, seating, and board games so it makes it a nice spot to hang out with a group of friends. In summary, I thought the drinks were good, but not great. There wasn't much that made them stand out, apart from the unique cups (unfortunately, these didn't fit in my cupholder lol).

The drinks look amazing but the tiger box tasted very much like milk and could barely taste the tea. Tiger milk tea is one of my favorites. By the appearance I could tell the flavor was going to be missing. The person helping me was very friendly. This is a great place to study or get work done. At the time I went, many customers were on their laptops. I really like how much space this place has. Tiger box didn't hit the spot for me but I would like to try their Galaxy tea on another visit.

Hosted a Friendsmas here and was absolutely satisfied with how the planning process and event turned out! Leo the manager, despite never meeting him was very helpful in the planning stages. He was very attentive and answered all my questions and addressed any changes I requested as needed. We had a semi-private event meaning we got the section of the space by the windows with the adjacent Wood wall and it was already decorated for Christmas. We had access to the speaker system but since they were already playing christmas music we didnt switch up the playlist. We appreciated the wonderful staff tending to the boba bar that day. They were very kind and also helped move some pre-event customers that were straggling in our party section during our time slot. The place was a perfect space for our party of 14. Semi private could be for 30 & below, but for our use of tables for games and food, I believe we had the right amount of space to comfortably enjoy. They even have a sofa and coffee table in the space! Totally worth booking with Leo at Boba Box! Ease of booking, clear rules & payment, good space, food is allowed to be brought in and love that they allowed us to move their furniture around to curate our own design. If you want to host an event and also enjoy a variety of drinks with ease-- Boba Box is the way to go! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Leo!

I love the name and concept of this boba place. Their drink cups kinda fit in the car cup holders. The concept is great, and the drink follows through with good quality tea. Citrus Sunset: So refreshing, it does have a slight tart taste due to the grapefruit. Adding the crystal boba brings a nice bounce for a fruity drink. Okinawa Milk Tea: Clean milky with hints of the nutty Okinawa flavor in the tea. I prefer this than the citrus sunset. Parking: No designated parking lot, either you can park in Vons or you can park in the residential streets.

This place is so fun! They have games you can play and a lot of seating for a boba shop. They have games drinks are good and the service was friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed coming in and just relaxing while chatting it up.

Would give this place a 3.7-3.8 stars total. We got 2 drinks and they were both okay, best thing about it was it was buy one get one. I would say they were generous in terms of deals. We also got the chocolate crinkles and would give that a 4.5/5!

Came to boba box, wife had a craving for boba, she's not a huge fan of boba but she really enjoyed the one she ordered. I got a galaxy box and for me it was good but I would have done 75% sweetness. The lady making the drink was very nice! The boba spot was nice and lounge comfy with some nice ascetic's. Would come again.

I'm sort of obsessed with the yuzu taste so the only thing I get here is the honey yuzu with cheese foam with less sugar and I finish it to the last drop. They used to give out a reusable cup but changed it to a one time use cup. The cups are still cute. It's also nice that they open later than other bubble tea/boba drink spots which is a plus. Get the honey yuzu if you like citrusy drinks read more

Love this local boba shop in Monrovia! I came here for the boba containers (shaped in a box!) and honestly wasn't really expecting the drinks to be that good. I was pleasantly surprised by many of their drinks on their menu. I tried their matcha strawberry. matcha, and litchi green tea w boba and I loved all three drinks! For the reusable containers, I would say the $6 price is definitely worth it! The sugar and ice are both adjustable and the drinks tasted so good! Highly recommend this place if you're craving boba! read more

parking is easy, there's a lot of street parking available along myrtle ave. love the fruity drinks here. i like the watermelon green tea and the galaxy box with mango star jellies. not too sweet or bitter, their drinks are perfectly refreshing and they use nondairy creamer for their drinks. their uji matcha green milk tea is nice too, but i definitely prefer their fruity selection here. it's nice and cool inside to relax with friends too since there's plenty of seating and a couple of outlets near some of the tables to use. read more

I am not one to normally write reviews but I am completely obsessed with their Jasmin milk tea and their new Thai tea. I am an avid boba drinker and I can say that their teas get better every time I go. I have to say that I'm usually a sucker for these millennial boba shops that have cool bottles, nice decor and interesting drink flavors etc. Sometimes they are great and other times they are terrible. In this case, Boba Box was AMAZING! I had the strawberry matcha latte and the yoyo green tea. I usually like my drinks with half ice, 25% sugar for my drinks, but decided to try these as is as to see how they make it. It was very good! I highly recommend you try this place out if you're in the area and looking for some tasty teas, smoothies etc. read more

So fresh and so clean! Happy to try the new local boba spot. Plus squarezzzz. So I ordered online and paid ahead. Easy to select and customize your combo, sweetness, ice, add-ins. I ordered oolong cheese foam with mango stars. Took a star off only bc I got little cubes instead of stars. I only ordered the add in bc STARS. Otherwise, tea was good, flavors enjoyable, mango jelly was chewy and good, just not stars. 20 minute Street parking spot, in and out. Customer bonus program with your phone number. 10% off Yelp check in. Yelp throws me shade at a 4175 picture lock since March so I'll add my photos but they probably won't appear. read more

New Boba place worth trying! Very cute place on the corner of Mrytle and Foothill Blvd. Service was great. We were offered a sample of their green tea upon arrival which tasted good. I ordered the Oolong Milk Tea with Boba 75% sugar less ice and it comes with a cool bottle. I really liked the drink because it was not too sweet and they use quality tea. The boba was chewy and fresh. Cannot wait until I go back again to try the other drinks. Would recommended everyone to check this place out if you are in the area. Tip: There is street parking on Mrytle. read more

I love yuzu everything!! Their honey Yuzu green tea is my favorite! They do not skimp out on flavor/tea. Winter melon tea is strong in winter melon flavor instead of strong tea like other boba places. Definitely will come back to go down the list of drinks they have to offer. read more

Let me preface this review by saying my friends have recommended this boba location since the moment it has closed for several months in the past year. Now that it has reopened & I've been given the chance to try one of many drinks, I must admit I'm far from disappointed. First and foremost, I ordered the Strawberry Green Tea Lemonade -- and I dare say this drink was beyond distasteful. To the idiot that recipe-tested this drink and believe it was okay for sale -- their taste buds must enjoy the taste of artificial bullsh*t. It is disheartening and absolutely no wonder this drink or any of the lemonade drinks do not fall under the "top 10 drinks" list. Rather, this sad-half-assed-lemonade-artificial-trash-of-a-drink will not only fall under a top 10 list of "unwanted" drinks, but will most definitely dry your throat faster than California catching the next drought. When life gives you lemons...BobaBox just doesn't measure up. I'd prefer to walk past this building and find some child's lemonade stand in the neighborhood of Myrtle street and make better use of my money there. read more

I've been to boba box when it first opened and i tried the boba brown sugar milk tea and the matcha latte with strawberry! Both were really good. Usually places food or drinks needs adjustment during the first opening but this plate did it well and you can tell they put a lot of effort into their drinks. Also the boba box shape cups are nice and reusable for water. The 2nd time I went was a few weeks later to try their new Oreo matcha latte and I did not regret it at all it was a bit sweet but I didn't mind (it's Oreos didn't expect it to be not sweet lol). For sure I'll be coming back a 3rd time and a 4th and so on. read more

Gross. Honestly no flavor, bitter, and it just sucks overall the service and the drinks. Strawberry lychee fusion was gross, lacked flavor and just tasted like sour water. Don't wast your time here. 6 dollars for what? read more

The price of your drink includes a reusable cup with a metal lid and it's a pretty big portion, so I think the price is fair. It's a bright, airy space. They have options for people who love hardcore creamy, dessert-type drinks, but also lighter stuff. I got the honey lemon green tea with 50% sweetness, and it was refreshing. I'm hoping for more types of milk, such as oat or dairy milk, because right now they only have creamer alternatives. read more

Best matcha coffee ever. Tpumps closed so I thought I'd try this place out. I ordered a grapefruit green tea no sweetness and boba. The tea tasted burnt and low quality. You can tell when tea isn't made right because it has an astringent taste afterwards, which is very evident with low sweetness. Other places down the street have much higher quality tea and flavors I think though they might have forgot to add grapefruit to my tea, I couldn't taste it at all. If you like simple teas without all the milk and sugar I would not recommend this place. Update! I came here again and ordered citrus green tea. The cashier explained that the lowest sweetness they can do is 50% since the fruit has added sugar to it. Also the tea flavor was good I wish I could've eaten the fruit! read more

Definitely not a 4.5 star place. On multiple occasions that I've been here, they're out of boba. They're also always out of oolong. The one time I did have boba, it was tasteless as others have mentioned. The wait is ridiculous here. I waited 25+ minutes for one drink - a milk tea with boba. Until management can train their employees to make drinks in a timely manner and figure out how to have boba ready, I will not be returning. read more

Probably one of the cutest boba spots ever. The packaging & inside will satisfy your instagram aesthetics. The boba is 5.50$ which is quite pricey but worth it for the cup. I got the uji matcha latte with boba and it was really enjoyed it. Boba isn't that chewy which is what I prefer and the matcha was perfect sweetness. Also the cashier guy was really nice and helpful. Will definitely visit again when I'm in the area. read more

Southern California is known for its boba culture and expectations for new boba ventures are high. Despite the existence of considerable competition, or perhaps as a consequence of it, Boba Box exceeds expectations. I can confidently say it is not just a gimmick based on the shape of the bottle. The ingredients are good, the snacks are tasty, and even the bottle is worth keeping and reusing. My personal favorite drink is the 25% sweet green lemon tea with pudding and lychee. Pro tip: the grilled cheese. Do it. Btw, we were pleasantly surprised to find that they actually enforce their policies to protect our health. This might be the best boba place in the area. read more

Stop by Boba Box for some honey green tea after we went out to the park for a stroll. Love the fact they allow our dog to stay indoor while we were waiting for our order. The Tea: Ordered my go-to honey green tea. The drink comes in this cute reusable square bottle, and they only offer one size. Price is reasonable for the bottle size, and tea is good so I'm interested to try other drinks on their menus. read more

We got a green milk tea with pudding. Tea flavor was weak and barely there. We like our teas strong and able to cut through the milkiness. This was mosly milk. We forgot to reduce sweetness because they didn't ask how we would like it. It was a bit sweet so 75% sweetness would probably fix that. Pudding was really good and plentiful but the milk tea itself was nothing to remember. We would not come back again. read more

I don't normally come to Monrovia but I was looking for a new boba shop to try and I found Boba Box, a legit boba spot that has hella nice interior! I love how the wall looks! A perfect spot to take an IG picture! Customer service: As I walked in, i was immediately greeted by the cashier. I felt extremely welcomed to this place and made me feel at ease. The cashier even helped me recommend a drink and was very knowledgable about the drinks and any questions I had about the menu. Drinks: I've been getting strawberry milk tea and it taste so gooooood! I can taste tea flavor and i love how milky it is. It's a perfect combination of milk and tea! The strawberry is not overwhelming and its JUST RIGHT. Everything about this spot is PERFECT! Definitely recommend everyone to try the strawberry milk tea! Parking is a bit hard to find but I was able to park at the Vons plaza across the street and walk over. read more

Came on a Wednesday evening and found street parking right in front of the shop on the corner. One other party was ahead of me. Best boba ever! I'm not one to write reviews but this place definitely deserves it. My family and I love it here and is easily our favorite boba spot we go to all the time. Totally thinking-out-side-the- box joint. Mango was real. Citrus Green hit the spot. Winter melon milk tea was caffeine free and delicious. The server was cool. At first I think that perhaps she's under the impression that I want more of the drink or extra ice on the side perhaps? so I proceed to explain to her that I want the same amount that comes with my regular drink, but just want extra ice and space for my added shot that was paid for, hence the larger cup. She refused to budge and tells me it doesn't matter, that I have to pay for a large, even though I had already paid and the girl taking my order has no issue with this. Her attitude towards the situation was so bizarre and I wonder if her inability to process what I was explaining is what caused her to be so "firm" on this, but I left feeling so disappointed and frankly, not sure if I want to return. Possibly losing a customer over what you think is a 50cent "thievery" seems like bad business. UPDATE: within minutes of the review posting, Isaiah, the CEO personally called me to apologize for the poor experience and promised to look into this to make sure it doesn't happen again. He was also confused, since he assured me that is in no way company policy, and offered to void today's transaction. Thank you for making us feel heard.

I used to like Bobabox, but after a disappointing visit -- I will no longer extend my loyalty to this boba establishment. I usually don't write angry/extremely negative reviews, but my last experience here wasn't so sweet. I'm not one to stray away from my go-to drinks (the Strawberry GT Lemonade or Matcha drinks) in fear of disliking the product and wasting it, but I was optimistic to try the cheese-foam milk box (with boba). Long story short, the milk box itself was mediocre at best, but if I had to compare this drink to the Nom-Nom beverage at Factory Tea Bar (San Gabriel, CA), FTB is the winner. The cheese-foam, however, wasn't so mediocre but -- just sad. Sure enough, I was expecting a mouthwatering whipped-cloud to pair tastefully with the drink, but the moment the cheese foam hit my taste buds, I was completely turned away. It doesn't have that small kick of saltiness that most cheese-foams have or that satisfying-melt-in-your-mouth-creamy texture. If anything, it was strictly whipped cream cheese, and I probably should've finished it off by walking across the street to purchase bagels from Vons and smeared the "cheese-foam" onto some carbs. Now -- call me a hater, but I used think this place had an approachable atmosphere -- the green wall, the wooden tables, the open space. Perhaps these basic-Pinterest-b*tch features only mask the disappointment of feeling robbed of anyone's money's worth. The green wall is a nice touch, but I'll take my business to Rainforest Cafe now to find this aesthetic. At least I'll know the animals won't rob me of a satisfying experience. I came here during 4th of July bc the other tea house had a long line so my group thought why not give this place a shot after reading good reviews. The place is very spacious and clean. The line was short. Drinks came put okay. The price however is expensive for the quality they offer without their 20% off (they had July 4th promo) bc they do not come with toppings. Each topping is an extra charge... The price is good but it isn't worth it. These are the items we tried: Matcha with strawberry: I am a huge fan of matcha latte with strawberry and boba. The look of this drink was very promising but it was a huge disappointment once I tried. The strawberry was very artificial taste like canned ones. The matcha was very water down and their milk isn't even real milk. ( We found out they only use lactose free creamer after we ordered...) Thai Tea with boba: Their thai tea tasted normal. Nothing special. It wasn't bad but my friend said didnt worth $6. Honey green milk tea with boba: Their tea taste was very bitter like cheap over brew tea. This Boba place is amazing! If you are in the area, you MUST try. As soon as I stepped inside, I noticed the cute decor. It is very modernized and has a great ambiance. Everyone was so friendly and made sure my order was perfect to my liking. Another thing that stood out to me were the boba cups. The drinks are given in a long boba box, which can also be reused! I thought that was really cool and haven't seen anything like that before at a boba shop. Okay, now for the drinks! I have tried so many different flavors on the menu, and they are all delicious!!! My favorite boba place in the 626! Their boba is so good. It's the perfect texture and isn't too sweet. My go to drink is the mango smoothie, but I'm also a fan of the Thai milk tea boba.
