I'd like to start off by saying that before today, I've raved to everyone about our favorite local coffee shop, and would've given this place 5 stars, no questions asked. Sadly, one employee can quickly change that, and I'm writing this in hopes that management helps them better understand how to properly deal with each individual situation. My husband and I go in for drinks and food, anywhere from 3-5 times a week, and we gladly leave tips in the jars, because up until today, we had nothing but great experiences. Today at about noon, I went in and ordered at the register. I ordered my husband's large drink, and order my REGULAR drink, paid for an ADDED shot, and asked if it could be placed in a large cup instead of regular cup, with extra ice. No issues ordering and paying. Even left a tip in their jars. I move over to wait for my drink and the girl making the drinks (short curly hair) finds an issue with me asking for a large cup and tells me that is an upcharge because it's more plastic and it's an inventory issue, and I'd have to pay for a large drink. Really? At first I think that perhaps she's under the impression that I want more of the drink or extra ice on the side perhaps? so I proceed to explain to her that I want the same amount that comes with my regular drink, but just want extra ice and space for my added shot that was paid for, hence the larger cup. She refused to budge and tells me it doesn't matter, that I have to pay for a large, even though I had already paid and the girl taking my order has no issue with this. Her attitude towards the situation was so bizarre and I wonder if her inability to process what I was explaining is what caused her to be so "firm" on this, but I left feeling so disappointed and frankly, not sure if I want to return. Possibly losing a customer over what you think is a 50cent "thievery" seems like bad business. UPDATE: within minutes of the review posting, Isaiah, the CEO personally called me to apologize for the poor experience and promised to look into this to make sure it doesn't happen again. He was also confused, since he assured me that is in no way company policy, and offered to void today's transaction. Thank you for making us feel heard. read more

The shop is so cute with its mural! It's also very convenient for grabbing a coffee before heading over to the grocery store next door. This is located in a plaza with a large parking lot. I got one of their seasonal Valentine's drinks. While the flavor was good, I really wish it had been hot rather than iced. They do seem to specialize in iced drinks, so I don't think I'll be back. They did have a kiosk to order and staff prepared the drinks quickly! read more

Lately this Hispanic-owned family coffee chain has been getting a lot of buzz, so the busy bee that I am I buzzed on in while running some errands. I arrived just as they opened and the bakery cases were being stocked with baked goods. Burritos, sandwiches, wraps, bowls, & crepes are also available. The place is spacious and the holiday décor was still up. The bear mural on the wall is very cute and great for photo ops. There is merch and packaged coffee for purchase if you want that too. The gal that took my order was friendly and helpful. (You can also order at the Kiosk.) I asked for the Abuelita's Latte and she said, "It's iced. Is that ok." Well, since it was 45 degrees outside, I mentioned that I wanted something hot so she suggested the Mexican Mocha Latte. It sounded good, so I requested that with almond milk. (Various cold foam add ons and milk alternatives are available.) I hopped in my car and took a sip. It reminded me of hot cocoa. The coffee flavor was subtle and I could taste a hint of spices. There's a large parking plaza to get here. It's clean and cozy inside. They have kiosks or register ordering here. You can grab some baked breads. They have loads of drink and food options. The staff are nice. They call out orders by your name. There's a good amount of seating and decent volume level. Good for meeting with a friends or studying. I got the seasonal special, the Blushing Matcha. It was decent. A tiny bit too sweet for me, it's the more sweet matcha type of drink. The foam was pretty good. Environment: They have a few tables/chairs set outside for outdoor seating. Inside, they have several seating options to choose from; tackles/chairs or counter seating that faces the outside window. The menu is located above the counter. Place your order at the counter that's located towards the back; you can also buy merch. Once your order is ready, you can pick it up at the counter located near the front. They had live music being played by a local musician. What was ordered: - Matcha Latte (light tea taste, not too sweet) Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. Overall, the drinks were good. They have a pretty lengthy menu with interesting and unique drinks. My favorite so far is their Horchata Lover latte from their signature drinks menu. An horchata latte with horchata cold foam, the drink was deliciously sweet. I also tried their white choco strawberry latte, which is a white chocolate latte with strawberry cold foam. And last up is the Big Beach Energy from their summer drinks menu - a strawberry passionfruit lemonade with redbull. Be warned, if you're not a fan of redbull or energy drinks in general, then this is not for you. The drink was definitely more redbull than lemonade - a good option for those interested in trying a fancy energy drink. My only criticism, which is really just my personal preference, is that I wish they used regular ice instead of crushed ice. If you order a drink with one of their flavored foams, little ice pebbles will constantly come through as you sip from the foam cup lid. First time customers! Once we walked in, we were greeted right away & the employees were soo nice ! We ordered the Horchata Lover & the Abuelitas Coffee, and were not disappointed. The coffee and the taste was great. I absolutely love that I was able to order my drink with almond milk. Because whole milk does not agree with me. The biggest downside, of our experience was the AC, as soon as we walked in the entire place was a furnace. I give the employees props because my boyfriend and I were inside for less than 10 minutes, and we had sweat dripping down our backs. Other than that we had a great experience. This San Fernando Coffee chain opened about two months ago in the Foothill Plaza on the corner of Foothill and Myrtle in Old Town Monrovia. It took over Moo Moo Burger that used to be in the same spot. The interior is causal, a bit traditional and clean. The menu is unique in that it had fun drink names like Vally Girl and Valley Boy and 818 Boys Club under their signature iced drink menu. The menu really pays homage to their "Valley" roots! I ended up getting the Skinny Queen which was a lightly sweeten latte made of oat milk and sugar-free syrup. I got it hot and it was good. The ambiance is not really my scene even though I did appreciate the live music. They had a live singer there on a Saturday mid-morning. The line to order took a long time. There was a large group in front of me and there was only one cashier behind the counter. There was a self-order kiosk as well. Being my first time there, I wanted to talk to an expert to learn about the different drinks. It would have been nice if there was one more person behind the counter. Once I got to the counter, the lady was very nice and offered to heat up the chocolate croissant in the oven. That was a very nice touch. She did it for the customer before me as well. The offer was going an extra mile for me that I haven't really seen at other cafes and that made up for the long wait. The chocolate croissant was good. San Fernando Coffee co. (est 2025) is a brand new coffee shop in old town Monrovia. They have one other location in SFV-Sylmar which I have visited a few months ago. I'm ebullient that they have one here in SGV. This coffee branch is located in a large plaza. We came here on a late afternoon to check-it out. Its indoor was very clean and spacious with abundant of natural light. Moreover, interior decor was cute especially the huge bear mural with myrtle street quintessential to Monrovia. Anyways, they have three kiosks at the counter. They have a plethora of drinks, dessert and pastry items. We got a classic lemonade to cool down on a warm Sunday and a Strawberry Nutella Crepe. Both were just okay. Service was on point. Prices were economically fair. Plenty of parking. Atmosphere was relaxing. Another great addition to downtown Monrovia! Menu was a good size with lots of options for everyone, including vegetarians. The service was super quick and friendly. The shop itself was very clean and organized, and had ample seating. My husband and I got the Valley Boy and the Angeleno iced coffee drinks and we split a California Dreamin' Burrito. The coffees were both really good - definitely on the sweeter side but not overwhelmingly so. The burrito was awesome. The steak and tater tots inside it were delicious and it was served with pickled red onions, a salsa verde, and a salsa roja. Very good balance of fillings and flavors overall, and I'd highly recommend it. My only hang-up is the prices were a bit high. Our medium drinks were $6.50 each and the burrito was a whopping $18. That being said, it was really good, but most people wouldn't be able to eat here on a frequent basis. I will be back soon for coffee at least, though!! read more

It's located in the Foothill Plaza. Tons of free parking shared with other businesses. This place wasn't packed at all at the time. It has very good seating space. It was bright, clean, and spacious. As I was walking towards the register, I was intrigued by a pig shaped cookie or pastry. It's called a Puerco and it's a cookie. I got a chance to try a sample of it before deciding to buy it. It was good so I ended up getting one. Thank you sir for your help. The nice and friendly lady behind the register recommended the Horchata Lover Latte. I took her recommend and ordered one. Price was very reasonable. WOW, I fell in love at first sip! I am hooked! It was so delightfully smooth, rich, and lightly sweet just the way I like it... it tasted better by the sip. I wished I got a large... next time for sure. It is a must get every time if you love horchata or if you've never tried one, now is the time! Trust me on this one. Yay they're finally open!! We've been watching and waiting for months - and today is their soft opening (5/9/25)! We happened to catch it as we were grabbing dinner next door - their coffee is delicious and their pastries are huge. Being in their soft opening, they're still putting things together - but the staff let me know that most of their menu is up and running. Hubby opted for the Horchata Latte (hot). I had a sip or two and it was really nice - mild cinnamon flavor along with their buttery smooth coffee - and not too sweet which we loved. I was so excited to see they have a S'mores Latte - definitely had to try that since I'm obsessed with anything marshmallow and it did not disappoint! Their coffee is so smooth paired with the marshmallow syrup - and they top it with a chocolate cold foam - heaven in a cup!! Not overly sweet and a great flavor balance. I'll definitely be getting this again. They have a large pastry case so we had to grab a few pastries to sample - a chocolate croissant (always a fave), turtle brownie, and a giant blueberry bear claw!! So far I've had a little nibble of the brownie and the bear claw and yessss!! They are so good - especially the blueberry bear claw with its lovely blueberry jam filling and almonds on top! Excellent! The staff were so friendly and welcoming - you can tell they're excited to be here and finally be open! One of the staff was even hand-painting the cute bears on the wall to go with the Monrovia town theme - beautiful art - Impressive! New coffee spot in Monrovia! It's located right next to Vons so there is plenty of parking. Service was quick! The worker was really friendly and was available to answer any questions I had. I loved the variety of specialty drinks that they offered. I ended up ordering the Hazelnut Latte with one less pump of syrup. The coffee was great but I will probably opt for even less sweet next time. I would've gotten easy ice as well, but it turned out to be an extra $.25 charge. After tax, I paid $6.35 for a regular which is pretty decent given their other competitors on Myrtle. I was hoping to give this place 5 stars after hearing such positive things but had an okay experience. When you enter you can either order with staff or use the kiosk. People often get caught up here and spacing can be utilized better as individuals often block the second kiosk. Order the croissant egg sandwich nothing special. It was good but could have used a house aioli or something to make it standout. I was really hoping the Shakshouka was original. Looks like a fusion dish as the added beans to it and cojita cheese. It doesn't feel like it works well together. Flavor profile was off. They also forgot to give me a sourdough. It came with fried tortilla chips so it felt like a Shakshouka Chilaquiles. Service was fine everyone is nice. Plenty of space to sit. You can get there fresh baked goodies yourself and pay at the register. I was excited to try the banana bread latte because my coworker had been talking about it, but I was disappointed by my experience today. It was my second time here. I think the staff member was new and I the believe owner came in. So maybe she was flustered? I ordered a large and she initially gave me a medium and I noticed this. Then she said she would remake it for me, but I saw she pretty much just transferred it into a large cup and added a lot of ice. I also ordered it with light ice. I didn't want to be impolite and ask for an another remake. However, I felt like I paid over $9 for half a cup of ice. It did look like a nice place to sit and enjoy your coffee or study. It's well balanced and clean, without that overly earthy or garden-rye flavor that shows up in a lot of trend-driven cafes. You can actually taste the coffee, and it holds up whether you order hot or iced. The food easily rivals some of the better brunch spots around. Portions make sense for the price point, the quality is there, and everything is served at the right temperature, which is more important than people realize and often missed elsewhere. Service deserves special mention. Post-Covid, consistent and attentive service has become rare, but the staff here is friendly, organized, and clearly trained to care about the customer experience. Holy just holy! Drink and croissant were really good! I came in set on ordering a different drink but their seasonal monkey matcha (banana matcha) caught my eyes. Might be my all time favorite banana matcha. You can taste that it's not syrup banana. For any banana and matcha lover, I feel like this the spot to get your caffeine fixed. Matcha does taste as strong but everything paired well! As for the pistachio croissant, it was flakey, buttery with pistachio paste in the middle and pistachio nuts on top. Everything tastes fresh and not artificial. A big plus, the owner himself warmed it up for me. He was so friendly and attentive.
