Currently in NC visiting family and decided to go for a boba run, which happened to be at Boba Baba! I tried the Matchata with boba at 50% sweetness. I really liked the strong hint of cinnamon in the horchata, although once I mixed in the matcha, it tasted very watered down and bland. My sister ordered a Hong Kong Milk Tea at full sweetness and it still tasted bitter, not sure if it's how it's supposed to taste but the sweetness was not there. I've been in North Carolina for two weeks and I've been to Boba Baba three times. They do ask that there are only a handful of people inside at the same time, and that people enter in one door and leave out another, but I don't see many customers following either request. That said, I've never seen more than 10 or so people inside - all of whom were wearing masks. However, if waiting around a lot of people isn't something you're comfortable with, BB's website allows you to place your order ahead of time. I really would recommend you utilize the order ahead feature so that you can also access drinks that just aren't reflected on the menu... or maybe it's just that certain drinks are only available on certain days. In any event, I found the mango matcha latte as an option online, but not on the menu board inside the store. Not all of their drinks can be modified, but if you have the option, I highly encourage you to get something around 25% - but even that can seem a bit sweet to me and I normally love really sweet things. Their lavender earl grey is my favorite, but their strawberry matcha latte is also a close runner up. I think I'll try their rice milk options and premium teas next, along with some of their baked goods (the cream puffs look amazing)! First time at Boba Baba this past weekend and it was a good experience! They were very busy but despite the line, the staff are very efficient and accommodating. We got the Thai Tea and the Mango Butterfly Fresca. We also got a Matcha Oreo mochi donut and loved it! Thai tea was good and they offer non-dairy milk alternatives. My mom did not particularly like her drink, it contains quite fragrant floral tea which she is not so into. She originally wanted a slushie but this shop does not do slushies. Their menu is quite short and sweet rather than extensive and overwhelming like other places (both pro and con). This boba place does a great job in maintaining their COVID-19 precautions--clean spacious indoor seating, curbside pickup available, staff wearing masks, etc. I'll be back to try other intriguing stuff on the menu--such as the matcha horchata! read more

I've been going to Boba Baba for a while now and the first time that I went, the drinks were strong (the tea flavor was strong) and boba aplenty. As time went on, the teas have been watered down (including the premium teas), which is a bummer. (I order my drinks 50% sweet with no ice, so there isn't any ice to dilute the tea while I'm drinking it, but recently the drinks taste as if they let the ice melt in the milk tea before serving it. Multiple times, I've also ordered drinks to bring to my friends, and they all asked me if I ordered their drinks with ice and the ice melted because that's what the tea has been tasting like for many months now. Wishful thinking that the watered down taste was just a fluke. The mochi donuts still taste the same and are really good and flavorful, but the tea is slipping.) Their boba is still chewy without being too soft, so that's good. On the weekends, they have mochi donuts and on most week days, they have cream puffs. My favorite is their passion fruit mochi donuts which have the perfect amount of tart to make the frosting not make-your-teeth-fall-out sweet (don't get me wrong, it's still sweet, but your teeth won't feel like they want to fall out of your mouth), but their other flavors are good as well (definitely worth a try if you have not had their mochi donuts before). The mochi donut texture is spot on with the center of the donut being chewy but still soft at the same time. If you go on the weekends, the lines can be very long, so definitely order your drinks online before you go and they have some shelves where they put your order when it is ready. The downside to online ordering is that you can only order drinks online, no mochi donuts nor cream puffs. Now, here is the warning for those who only want to order food (mochi donuts or cream puffs), which you can only do in person. Your order will be queued up with the drinks, so even though you didn't order a drink, you need to wait for all of the drink orders before your food order to be completed before they fill your order and call your name. So, if the line is long, be ready to wait for a while. When I was there last, after I ordered the mochi donuts (no drink), I waited almost 30 minutes for mochi donuts that were already sitting in the display case. I thought I was waiting for more mochi donuts to be made because maybe the people before me ordered all of the mochi donuts that I wanted, but that was not the case since no new mochi donuts came out from the back. My order was queued up with the drinks and they were filling the orders in order, regardless of what the order was. Definitely something to keep in mind if you are not interested in ordering their drinks and only want a cream puff or mochi donut. Overall, I won't be coming back for the boba tea because the tea is watered down, but will be coming back for the mochi donuts if the line isn't long. It's definitely not worth a 20+ minute wait if I'm not ordering a drink and only want a mochi donut from the case. I've gone to Boba Baba several times now and my experiences have varied greatly. Ultimately, I think it's improved a lot and once you find a good drink, it's quite good. I highly recommend the hojicha latte and the iron goddess premium milk tea. These were great. I wasn't a fan of their matcha drinks--the matcha wasn't strong enough, and didn't impress me. I also didn't like the strawberry matcha one either because it was way too sweet for me--and the strawberry was from syrup with sugar, not fresh strawberry. I came to post a review because I finally got to try one of Boba Baba's cream puffs, topped with matcha cream and matcha crinkle! I usually dislike such heavy cream pastries but matcha makes it a lot more subtle so you can basically treat it like matcha ice cream, and Boba Baba has always been so light with their cream- anything you eat or drink here will not make you feel bloated even if you're lactose intolerant (very important.) I have a lot of friends in NC and they always posts about Boba Baba. I happened to be in NC this past weekend, so I had to stop by. I really wanted the mochi donuts that I saw on instagram, but they didnt have it. Apparently they only do cream puffs or mochi donuts, not both :(. I also tried to call the cafe to see if they had it beforehand, but they didnt answer any of my calls. My mom and I got the last four thai tea cream puffs, mango rice milk, and a matcha latte. THAI TEA CREAM PUFFS: I was surprised at how strong the thai tea flavor was, normally places do not get the flavor right and just add a bunch of sugar and add the orange color. The puff itself was nice and crunchy, which paired nicely with the thick cream. It was a delicious cream puff. (Please take your lactaid before consuming) MANGO RICE MILK: I was in a haste when I was ordering, so I randomly chose the mango rice milk. I was really hoping it would be good and it was! I think it was made out of rice milk? It didn't taste like normal milk and hah my lactose introlerant body didn't react poorly either. It was really delicious and actually had a mango flavor. This drink was light and refreshing! Their tapioca pearls were also the perfect consistency!! They're soooo good, I've been to manyyyy boba shops and the pearls are always too soft. Boba Baba has by far the best drinks in the Triangle (that I've tried so far, but I'm not really motivated to keep trying after this). My go-to order is the Tie Guanyin, 25% sweet (to my tastebuds it's still pretty sweet). No add-ons, it just messes with the perfect floral shimmery aftertaste of the tea. I also think their mochi donuts have a really unique texture - like tteok but not as gummy. Springier - your teeth will go through clean on the first bite. Great quality boba in the Triangle. Definitely the largest boba location I have seen ever, I think that subjectively, this place is the best in terms of atmosphere. There is ample seating for everyone, although when I went, it was mostly empty. Streetwear brand decorations adorn the inside of the store, combining for a cool vibe. There is also a cute sitting area, and a photogenic mirror that seems perfect for the gram. The menu is average, I've seen larger menus, but I appreciate the inclusion of milk alternatives. I ordered the thai tea with boba. Needless to say, it was good. It was sweet. Boba was chewy. But I felt the drink was not as rich as I would have liked. Maybe it was because I chose oat milk instead of regular milk, so this may be different. Depending on your tastes, there is a lot of room for customization. You can choose between hot or cold, adjust your sugar levels, and of course change the milk. There is enough near my town where I don't feel the need to come here all the time. But when I'm around the area, I'll definitely be revisiting. I still have yet to try the cream puffs which I hear are also pretty hype. Finally some high quality boba near me! I've been here twice and was equally impressed both times. Such a lovely spot to study, great staff, and most importantly great milk tea. Came in this past week and got their Thai milk tea with boba, while my friend got a matcha latte with boba. The quality of the tea was amazing, and there was a great tea to milk ratio which I love. I liked how they swirled the condensed milk, this made the drink perfectly sweet. The boba was also just the right amount of sweet, and the texture was also not to hard or soft. The place is relatively expensive for the area BUT on par with other higher quality milk tea places I've been to. You can tell the drinks here are made fresh with real ingredients and you pay for that! I've also had their hong kong style tea which was delicious. When I went in they weren't serving those delicious cream puffs yet, I can't wait to go back and try one of those out as well. I went with the Earl Grey Lavender boba tea, light sweetness-- it was perfect! The Earl Grey flavor really came through. I got it with oat milk which isn't an upcharge like it is at most spots. Alternative milks for the win! I also try the strawberry matcha boba and it was delicious. I'm not always a huge matcha fan but theirs was mild and not super earthy. I would definitely go for that the next time I head in. I wish it was closer to me so I could visit all the time! This is one of my favorite places in the Triangle. For someone raised in this area that's saying a lot. Since discovering them I come every time I'm back in the area and the result is always the same. Perfect boba tea and amazing mochi donuts. I normally get the 16oz mango iced tea with double boba and mango jelly half sweet. Unfortunately, due to the boba shortages they don't allow you to get double boba anymore even for a premium. Though I don't remember if they ever did, they don't serve mochi donuts during the weekdays. They are only served Saturdays and Sundays which is hella depressing. Mochi donuts are the perfect any time treat. Not to mention I literally starved myself all day so I could woof down at least three. Finally got around to coming here!! We got to try 3 flavors of their mochi doughnuts, the matcha oreo, strawberry and ube. The ube wasn't as prominent as I would've liked for something ube but still good. You can tell they are fresh and has a good texture. They were a little too sweet/rich for my liking but I'm sure there are plenty of other people who love more sweetness in their desserts!! It is called a dessert, after all. We also tried a couple of their drinks. My partner got a milk tea and I got a regularish tea with lychee jelly. The jelly wasn't my favorite but the tea was very refreshing!! I don't remember what they were called though. I will say that I wish they had their descriptions for the drinks on their actual menu in the restaurant, as it is hard to know what to order. Somehow over the past few years, boba shops have been popping everywhere around the Triangle! Boba Baba ranks high on my list, alongside Kung Fu Tea (High House/Cary Parkway) and Cha House (Chapel Hill, Franklin Street). Boba Baba's drinks are all made with premium ingredients, and you can definitely taste it in their tea. I've tried their Hojicha, Lavender Earl Grey, and Matcha Latte. I love how strong and prominent the tea tastes in their drinks and they're really looking out for us lactose intolerant Asians with the free milk alternatives. The unsung heroes. Prices are competitive with other boba shops, ranging from $4-$5 depending on what type of drink you get. Considering the fresh ingredients, as opposed to powder (looking at you Quickly), I think it's worth the price. Also it's right down the street from my house so I can't help but stop by whenever I pass. Service is fast and all the employees are really friendly. Strawberry matcha latte with Oatly and boba - 4.5 stars Got this with no ice, no sugar and less strawberry as it's presweetened. The boba was sweetened as well so the combination was too sweet for me - the first sip was great but I couldn't drink much more. The strawberry flavour was fresh and delicious though. Not sure I really tasted the matcha. If I got this again I'd get it without the boba. Maybe with the almond jelly. My brother who lives near a Boba Guys says it's indistinguishable from their strawberry matcha latte! Boba - 3 stars Chewy and possibly better than all other places here but still a little on the hard side and lacks that QQ texture KOI in Singapore/Taiwan does so well. Also too sweet for me. Hojicha latte with Oatly and almond jelly - 5 stars Fantastic! Strong hojicha flavour. It was my first time having almond jelly and it had a nice soft texture - the kind you get with gelatin rather than agar or konnyaku or aiyu or herbal jelly. Just the right amount of delicate sweetness. I'd definitely get this again! Ambience - 4.5 stars Loved the clean, spacious and minimalist interior. The wifi was fast. But the music was a bit too loud and distracting and there are no power outlets. The next time I'd get the hojicha latte with almond jelly or boba, or try one of their black milk teas. The interior design is very modern with skateboards on the wall, club type music, couch, and a few tables and chairs for guests to sit. I ordered the large Strawberry Matcha Latte with boba and almond milk, this was amazing! It tasted fresh not being too sweet or tasting like additives with added. My guest got the Hong Kong Milk Tea with boba and honestly it was just ok. Probably needed to be a little sweeter. What I like that other boba places I've visited don't do is Boba Baba lets you pick from three milk options (Regular, Almond, Oat milk), the type of boba and how sweet you want it. The sweetness would be 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%. This can help you better customize your drink to your liking. All in all I'd recommend going here as I am sure I am going to go back. read more

Cute decor with legitimately brewed bubble tea, unlike some boba shops that is only Instagram worthy in terms of aesthetics. The milk to tea ratio is perfect and and the tapioca is made with a soft chewy texture; not over or under-cooked. Ample space to study or hang out with friends. Solid music playlist as well. Plenty of parking in the shopping center and if you're passing through the RDU-Cary area or shopping near H-Mart, it's worth the drive. read more

I have to say this is the best donut I've ever had in my entire life lol.. I don't eat donuts often I just don't like them to be that sweet but this one is the perfect sweetness!! I love the passion fruit flavor the most, the one has crispy rice crackers on top is also amazing, others are good too they are super chewy that's probably why they called mochi donut!!
