Feels like they shredded a whole cabbage onto my plate! Definitely appreciated it with the sauce too. The chicken was so crispy. The sauce it came with was perfectly sweet too. The rice was incredibly soft but I do wish there was just a little bit more of it. This plate also came with a cup of warm miso soup. An incredible amount of delicious food for around 20 bucks. Well worth it. The ordering process was really simple. They'll call your number over the loud speaker so you don't have to be near the restaurant and can wait at your table. Really impressed with the quality and portions sizes. I will definitely be coming back!

The prices are super reasonable, especially for the portion sizes. The servings are HUGE. I can never finish everything in one sitting, so it basically turns into two meals in one (which I'm not complaining about haha). Their katsu is always perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Service is also pretty fast compared to other restaurants in the area, which I really appreciate when the food court gets busy. As for the ambiance, it's a small counter located inside a busy food court, and there are usually limited of seats available depending on the day. We've never had trouble finding a place to sit though! Definitely a solid go-to spot when you're at H Mart and craving something satisfying and filling!

(sorry no picture of the Pork Katsu because the hubby consumed it right away) We ate on a Thursday noon, service was quick, and they are polite. The vibe was very Japanese: it's simple. sit down and eat then go on your merry belly full way. This would be the closest to a legit Japanese curry taste we been looking for. Building is right to where you can park on the side of the street or if you prefer do the building parking where it is located.

We are there Monday for lunch and the guy was nice and very helpful. The food itself it's good cause the curry itself has bits of meat and you can tell has depth which means they really put some real ingredients in the sauce rather than just plain msg. Although the patty is small but I can sense there is onions and bit infused into the hamburger which this asian taste buds appreciate rather than just meat and no other flavor in the patty. We tried both the katsu and hamburger curry, we liked them both.....if you compare the price and portion with Americanized fast food chain like Ono Hawaii which give you "similar" food, of course, I can see it's no fun to have less food, but the prep and the outcome has difference in my opinion. The taste is also different. Like if you go next door to the main chick, it's also only two piece of fried chicken tender, they charged around 16, 17? I would pay more for the details you put in the food in the Japanese curry while the chicken tender next door is pretty much chicken tender with battery and TONS of msg like powder....no other "Whole Foods" are ingrained into the food. I know even McDonald is expensive these days, so what can I say, I get why people would complain! :) oh I checked the receipt again, its literally 15 and 16 dollars, plus tax, not 20, my bad

The place definitely reminds me of smaller mom and pop shops in the South Bay. We had just had curry, so skipped the lunch special combos and went with the cold noodle and rice, with an extra kaarage. We also opted for the upgrade to so a noodles. Food was delicious; nothing fancy, just good cooking and good ingredients. The chicken was hella crispy and juicy, the noodles just the right texture, and my mini katsudon was so yum. Friend had the mini tempura rice bowl and that was also tasty. Can't wait to go back, and bring some of my own duckies for the restaurant.

We actually ended up here by accident after losing our patience waiting for a table at the red 99 Bistro Grill down the street, I'm so happy we did. Even though it was our first time, it totally lived up to its "famous" reputation. The food is incredible and feels so authentic. We tried the " curry chicken katsu" and the "cold udon noodles". The curry has such a deep, great flavor, and the katsu was perfectly crispy. The udon was the real star, though. It's super chewy and had that perfect texture that reminded us exactly of the meals we've had in Japan. Service was great. The people here are very friendly and welcoming. If you're looking for a legit Japanese comfort food spot in San Gabriel, this is definitely it!
