This location had me and my girl friend waiting 15 minutes with 3 tables in the restaurant occupied. Two of witch came up to pay. There was a waitress walking around and did not pay me and her any attention shot of shooting us dirty looks cause we are an interracial couple. I was so mad we just had to leave. I will never go to another Bob Evans ever again. I have never been so disrespected so openly by a big company like that. read more

Bob Evans has great broasted chicken, just not THIS Bob Evans. We ordered an 8 piece chicken to go, which was advertised as 2 breasts, 2 thighs, 2 wings, and 2 legs. We ordered it for a specific pick up time (an hour and half after calling it in), and ordered two sides, and two gravies. After waiting ten minutes past the pick up time, we got 3 thighs, 2 wings, 2 legs and 1 breast. On top of that, the chicken was dry, old, cold, and disgusting. We only got one of the gravies, and the sides were less than fresh. Unfortunately, this was not the first time we have been disappointed here, but we gave them a second, and a third chance. If you are going to order out for Bob Evans, I suggest you skip the Chardon OH location, and just go to another location. This will be my last time at that restaurant. Gross. read more

Food is great and their menu is awesome. When they opened it was always packed and we assumed that the issues with the service was due to new staff and a new operation. Unfortunately a year later it has not gotten any better. Tonight dinner took over an hour with a long wait for drinks and meals. It's clear their servers do not have good management and there isn't enough of them or enough support in the floor. I hope at some point it improves but for now we don't be going back. read more

We had written off Bob Evans after their food and service went downhill a couple of years ago. Today being the holiday they were the only place open. "How bad can it be?" we asked ourselves. I ordered my favorite, a wildfire salad with fried chicken. My wife ordered a chicken sandwich and asked for home-fries as her side. Her sandwich was tolerable but the home-fries were uncooked and swimming in oil. My chicken in the salad was deep-fried beyond the charcoal stage. They are now back on the do not go list. read more

First visit was the week they opened. Service was terrible, mistakes made on orders, waitress forgot about part of the order multiple times, We gave them a pass figuring it was a new restaurant and it was going to take a little bit to get everything right. Well tonight we went there again (big mistake) to sum it up quickly ,after 30 minutes waiting for our food, we just got up and left. We would have asked about our food and where it was, if we could have found our waitress, but after the first 20 minutes she fell right off the face of the earth, we never saw her again ,bless her heart I hope shes ok. In the end they lost another couple of customers, there are to many restaurants in the area to come back to one that has such poor customer service. read more

This restaurant has been open for enough months to get their act together. The service can be fine or abysmal; the food as well. Is the problem with the local management or with the corporate level. The quality of food has become very processed and not what this brand used to be. I asked for more coffee and my waiter said, "Someone will be coming around with a pot." 10 minutes later, I had to ask again. I emphasized that I would like my bacon crisp or well done. This is the second time I ordered first time I ordered a year ago they messed up my order and gave me the wrong chicken so I decided today to try again I order the herb roasted chicken dinner for 4 people for for 1999. It was horrible I Got 5 chicken legs a salad I paid extra for mashed potatoes and gravy and when I got home the mashed potatoes and gravy were not there and the kid read me back what was in the bag and he was wrong I called they told me to come back I'm not driving 5 miles there and 5 miles back again for mashed potatoes I told her I'd pick him up next time and she said okay and they will be free of course they will I already paid for them how stupid can people be read more

I have not been to this Bob Evans since they first opened. I decided to go last night and was surprised by how much they have improved since my last visit. Our waitress, Mia, was excellent!! The food was good. I hope Mia is my waitress the next time I go. read more

We gave this place plenty of chances form the moment they opened, they have done nothing but disappoint time and time again. We feared Bob Evans coming into our community would shut down the small local diner(s). But I must say, it has probably done the opposite. I don't normally write reviews, but if you come here beware. This restaurant in particular is like a bipolar teenager: it will be amazing some days and absolute trash another. Unfortunately it tends to moreso be the latter. Today the waitress managed to mess up our order 19 times. Now that may seem like an exaggeration, but that's an honest tally we started keeping track with after 4 mistakes in the first five minutes. We waited 18 minutes for our coffees after we ordered them, and once they were brought they were wrong. Rather than wait another 10 to get the correct ones we just dealt with it. My blueberry crepe was brought out as a plain crepe, my potatoes became hash browns, and my bacon was instead ham on my plate. On top of that another member of my party never received their desert, and when asked for their banana bread that came unlimitedly with their order was charged extra for it. Overall just a real frustrating experience, and that was only to name a few of the problems. I highly suggest a more home-style diner where the food is better, cheaper, and service is nicer. Stopped in at 8pm on a Wednesday. Just a few customers. Staff mostly young and sort of hanging out with little attention to the customers. The place was filthy! Obvious food spilled on the floor in a big circle, crumbs and napkins on the floor. The waiter tried to sit us at the table where the mess was left right at the seat. I couldn't stomach that so he took us to the next table that hadn't been wiped off yet but he didn't give us another option so we waited. The broasted chicken and the turkey dinners were fine as well as the breads but I won't return there as dirty as it was. read more

Third visit because I kept saying it had to get better. Coincidentally, second time I got dirty silverware. Our waitress was wonderfully attentive. She brought our drinks and menus right away. Took the order in a timely manner. After 10 minutes she said she'd check on the order. Twenty minutes in she apologizes and says the computers are down and our paper order had fallen behind something but the cooks were working on our order and it would be right out. Food was flying out of the kitchen all around us. Our waitress kept checking but at the 35 minute mark we had nothing and I asked to speak to the manager. Waited another 10 minutes then went to the register. We were telling the assistant manager what happened and she said the manager was right there at the next register. We're trying to explain what happened and he's saying NOTHING! Assistant apologizes ands he still says NOTHING. We proceed to leave and he says, "have a nice day." I am shocked by the negligence of this manager - not taking control of his kitchen, not really listening to a customer's concerns, not trying to make it right. It's Valentines Day and I'm NOT feeling the love! Get a regional manager out here to fix this very sorry excuse of a Bob Evan's. PLEASE! read more

Tonight was my 4th visit to the Chardon Bob Evans, and I do believe it will be my last. Each time I have gone in I have had HORRIBLE service. I work in the industry ( I am actually a General Manager of a restaurant) so I notice more when things don't seem OK. The first time I went it was the first week so I cut it some slack. 3 of us went to eat (one being a small child) and all the orders were wrong accept the kids meal. When the server brought out the right food, she also brought the check and never once came back. We didn't even have literally ONE BITE and she never came back again. Second time I went the service wasn't too bad. BUT, my friends 8 year old ordered grilled chicken tenders. Thankfully she asked what was inside of it, and that's when we saw the chicken was COMPLETELY RAW. By this, I mean pink. It was still cold. It looked like chicken when you buy it from the store. We didn't even get so much as to an "I'm sorry" from anybody. Our server said "Oh let me go and make sure they re cook this for you." she then came back to inform us it would be a few more minutes but the manager was "yelling at the cooks." When we went to check out the manager was the one that checked us out. He had no idea what he was doing on the register, neither did the other young man trying to help him. I fought the urge to go back there and do it myself. Bu I asked him if he knew about the raw chicken that was served to a young child and he responded with "yeah I'm sorry about that. I did yell at my staff." I was shocked to say the least. I informed him as to how wrong I felt it was that he personally, as a manager, didn't come to the table to let us know they were sorry about that. The little girl could have gotten poisoned had she had taken a bite of that. The server didn't even take the fork with it that was used to cut the raw chicken. So. Against my better judgement, I went back again but this time with my parents and daughter. Again, the order was wrong. Not only wrong, but we waited almost 45 minutes to get our food. Mind you, the table to our left, as well as the table to our right, both with more people, and who got sat after us, got their food before us. Again, blew it off as to being a new restaurant and a pretty young staff. Tonight. Same thing as far as food goes. We were sat close to the kitchen so I was able to see everything that was going on behind the scenes. Me having the experience I have saw so many things wrong it wasn't even funny. I watched a side plate of bacon sit in the window under the heat lamp for almost an hour, and then served to a customer. My poor server tonight was so nice and sweet I couldn't even be mad at her for the fact that our food took 45 min to get to us. Again we watched the tables around us get their meals before us even though we ordered long before them. We had a chicken dinner with a sweet baked potato, a bowl of chicken noodle soup with french fries, and a pot pie. I watched most of our meal sit in the window for over 15 minutes, while the cooks scattered to finish it. I do believe the problem was they got confused about the sweet baked potato. The poor server kept trying to tell them the order was wrong, while the cooks and the manager who was cooking were ignoring her. The cooks looked like they had no idea what was going on. The servers were all clustered together not helping run other peoples food but rather talking and laughing with each other. I also heard the manager tell a server to run some of the food and she looked at him, quickly walked away and went to one of the computers letting somebody else run the food. The manager said nothing. I think that this company needs to get some new management and new staff that actually know what they are doing or it will never survive. I know myself, will probably never go in there again unless I am dragged in there.. read more

Never got a table. Went in with some family, there were a total of nine of us. People arrived after us and kept getting seated right away. Overheard the hostess say she didn't know what to do with us. The lady behind the counter was extremely lazy and wouldn't help people that were walking in. After waiting 35 minutes and watching a group of five get seated before us, we decided to leave. The service in the lobby was so horrific I don't think I would want to find out what it's like in the dining room. I would prefer to drive twenty minutes to Mentor where the staff is nice and well trained. read more

My wife and I decided to try Bob Evans for lunch after half a dozen breakfast trips. Most of our breakfasts meals were good, a few times slow service. We could see from where we set there was miscommunication between servers and cooks. So back to lunch!! We were promptly seated, drinks ordered, then lunch ordered. After twenty minutes I knew a problem existed, especially when people seated after we arrived had their lunch. Then the waitress shows up and says lunch will be right out. I got cold fries, cold hamburger, black lettuce around edges. I immediately asked her how she could serve me a lunch she knew had to be sitting a long time before she brought it and black lettuce !! Her answer was I can get them to fix another lunch. No thanks. My wife had hers so what was I to do? We could not eat together. Our pleasant time out gif lunch ruined. I wrote Bob Evans telling them my experience and so many of their locations having back food and poor service. I said look at Yelp at all your surrounding restaurants and the real poor ratings customers give them. I never got an answer but free fifteen dollars in coupons. We believe Bob Evans execs are satisfied enough with their poor performing locations. I am done with this company. Lots of others to do business with. read more
