My friend and I waited only a few minutes for a table for two at 11:30 a.m. on a Saturday. The restaurant was busy with people waiting, so we got lucky. Our waitress was very good, and the manager brought us our checks. We got two meals and shared both. We tried the lemon ricotta pancakes. The lemon curd-like sauce was delicious. The potatoes with two eggs and avocado was plenty. Although the room was loud, we could still hear each other to have a conversation. We like First Watch. This location always seems crowded. Always people waiting for a table. A few observations... The hostess seems to have multiple responsibilities. She greets people coming in. She escorts them to a table when available. And also walks around taking inventory of available tables. Surprisingly, she also seems to be the person running to the back to bag up to go orders. This causes a backlog for check-in. Service was slow. Service wasn't bad, but took l Kind of long to get our meals. And then had to flag down the server to get our check. Seemed other tables were equally slow. We weren't in a rush, and glad they weren't rushing people out. Our meals were good. My omelet was tasty. We shared an order or Lemon Ricotta pancakes. This place never misses! I tried the Brooklyn breakfast sandwich and my party also had the chocolate chip pancake with egg and bacon. The service was great! They were busy, but did a great job clearing tables. I love it here and can't wait to try something different next time. The menu changes so I like to try different things. First Watch is generally a solid option for breakfast, but my visit to this location was disappointing. The wait was short to be seated, but we had to wait about 10 minutes for our waitress to come to our table. When she finally showed up, she brought a carafe of coffee, which would have been great if we had mugs to use. Sadly, our carafe was rendered useless because we never got mugs even though we asked. The food tasted fine and as expected (though my over medium egg was incredibly undercooked). We barely saw our waitress and she basically did the bare minimum. We saw that we were charged for coffee we never got to consume, but she never came back to our table so we couldn't address it with her. Thankfully, the woman seating people and cashing out checks took it off for us. The women's restroom was also in need of attention. Empty, broken toilet paper holders in the stalls which resulted in several rolls of toilet paper being strewn about the stalls. The paper towel dispenser on the wall was also empty and a roll of paper towels were placed on the counter near the sink, which meant the roll was wet too. I know good experiences can be had at this chain, but I won't be back to this location. read more

So first off the food, top dollar for the tiniest portions, 14.99 for two eggs and toast. Second our waitress was constantly incredibly rude like completely unwarranted it was honestly weird she also came to the table 3 times total out of an hour. Third, my lady's young sister had cross contamination in her food where she pulled an onion out of her chocolate pancake which is pretty gross. Overall really rude staff, incredibly expensive for tiny portions and the coffee tasted like urine. I want to love First Watch. There are so many things they do well, like the carafe of coffee and so many accoutrements at the table I don't have to ask for. The table service is regularly helpful and can answer menu questions and give recommendations. And, most of the time the food is good. What could be better: 1. Have outdoor seating setup. The outdoor seating at this location was out but not available, not enough severs, and it was a perfect morning to dine outdoors. 2. Don't burn the sweet potatoes in the million dollar hash. It makes them bitter. 3. Take payment at the table. We had to wait while a table of 4 paid separately and it took a long time. We didn't have a lot of time. 4. Serve half and half that's fresh instead of rip top disposables. It would be environmentally friendlier, tastier, and classier. read more

Service was desperately slow the morning we were in -- but four stars nonetheless because our server came over and told us that the kitchen was shorthanded. Eggs, omelets, pancakes, Benedicts, and a few other variations on breakfast themes. I opted for an omelet with the cheesy grits, which were a little disappointing for someone who's used to that dish prepared in the south...but a good attempt, and a perfectly good breakfast. Unfortunately it definitely wasn't the fastest service but we went on a busy Saturday morning so we weren't expecting much. Staff was all very accommodating and friendly. We sat outside which made for plenty of people watching because it faces a parking lot of a large shopping center(which I recommend looking around). The inside was nicely decorated and most importantly clean. By far the best iced coffee I've had! We all tried something different and everything was great. Great sized portions and cost was great. I have eaten at many First Watch locations and this one is bottom on my list. Other than the server coming to our table and bringing our drinks, taking our order and dropping off the bill there is no service given. Our food came out and was cold so we sat waiting for our server to return to check on how the food was and she was nowhere to be found. My daughter had to hunt down the hostess(who by the way was doing everyone's job and hers) to ask her to get our server. After we were finished and needed a to go container - again server nowhere around - oh we did see her and rest of servers in the kitchen area more focused on looking at their phones. When she finally saw my daughter placing her food in the to go container she walked over and said 'oh good you got a container' well yeah no thanks to her! I always loved First Watch. It was my go-to-place at home and while traveling. However! It has changed. On one visit the avocado toast was toast with a small scoop of avocado. Other trips, I had to sent the potatoes because they were so salty they burned my mouth and my daughter's. Go to today, I ordered the elevated egg sandwich and asked that the bacon be replaced by an extra egg since it came with one egg and I am a vegetarian. First, I was not told there would be an additional $2.39 charge for the egg. Which cost more an egg or bacon? Four extra words. Then, I looked at the avocado on the sandwich. It was a tablespoon's worth on one side of the bread (see picture). I told the server, before I knew about the up-charge for the extra egg, and barely got, "sorry about that." Once again, some forkfuls of the potatoes were super salty. Folks can always add the amount of salt they want after they get their meal. Hypertension is real!!! These are symptoms of management/leadership/team members not caring. So sad, my go-to-place has become an only-at-last-resort-place. First Watch you can do so much better! There was nothing to write home about them. It was like you put some smoked salmon you got from the store and added eggs on top. Not so much flavors there. My boyfriend got carrot cake pancakes and million dollars bacons. The pancakes were good but not mind blowing. I wanted more carrot cake flavor coming through such as cinnamon and raisins. Fortunately, It didn't take more than. 45 minutes to get seated so that was exciting. Their text message service was amazing to communicate our table was resdu Our service was cool ! Worst breakfast experience ever. Took forever to be served. Ran out of some food items at 10:00am which my vegan wife wanted to order. I ordered a tri athlete and my breakfast came to table after 30 minute wait super cold. Mind you they still did not have the other dishes ready and my kids had to wait another 15 minutes for their eggs and pancakes which also arrived cold. Did not even get a thank you. I walked out of restaurant I was so mad. The cold disgusting food was not charged to us is the only good thing to happen. We only went there because Pancake House which is way better was closed Easter Sunday. Fyi, I get it was the Easter holiday, but the kitchen had lots of workers and the seats were half empty inside. Being a fairly well known chain, I don't think I need to comment that much on what First Watch is. As of the review today, I also will say that we are understandably in an environment where kitchens and front of house find themselves short staffed with difficulty finding good help. I think that's the only issue with this First Watch as the food coming out of the kitchen didn't seem quite up to par as what we traditionally get. Service was quite slow for just a small party of two, but we were sat very quickly and it does help that they leave a pot of coffee on the table. Bottom line, I'll likely revise this rating again as we'll likely go back after the labor shortage in the service industry improves. Otherwise, a good offering as always from First Watch with mediocre and slow execution currently. read more

We went on Sunday around 11:30a which is obviously not the best time to come as there was a 45 min wait. We met two lovely ladies, started talking so the time flew. We had the most patient, professional, considerate and honest server I have had in a very long time. Wonderfully refreshing especially after my horrible experience two days prior at City Works also in Pinecrest (Ck out my review for the brutal truth there). Two of us ordered the Chickichanga. Beautifully presented but after two bites, it was room temperature. I guess they sat waiting for the other dishes, but not good. Hot food should be hot. We brought it to Bridgette's attention and she explained they don't have a microwave because all food is Fresh. It would have to be remade from scratch. Not a problem, done and served HOT! We wanted to share a Lemon Ricotta pancake and she kindly explained that one is $7 and two are $9 so it's more cost effective to have two. Done and thank you for the tip! She was on point with the service and didn't have to be asked to clear the table. As a matter of fact, she stacked plates for 4people and balanced them all at once and their plates are heavy! I wanted to assist since she is so petite but, like I said...she is a Server Champion! Two little bits of advice for the Manager. 1. Move the cash register. It's very frustrating to have people waiting to be seated standing where people need to pay. Having the server pick up the bill or have portable registers would be more convenient and productive. 2. The door says 9am but when me and my coworkers walked in the very rudely told us we needed to leave and they wouldnt be open untip 10am because they are understaffed. While walking out another women ran after other guests that they turned away and said you guys can come in if you want but we are sold out of alot of items, so you get what you get. By the time the server came to check on our table after the staff from the back delivered it, I was almost done with my French toast and didn't even want my eggs. But the topping on the cake Was when I was paying at the cashier. The tap and pay did not work and while I fumbled with the card to insert it in the reader, the cashier began tapping her fingers as if she had Something else to do. Yeah. Not coming back. If I must visit a chain, First Watch is probably it. I don't eat at chains often, but when it comes to brunch, First Watch never lets me down in a pinch. If you haven't made a reservation elsewhere (and can't do the 1-hr wait), this First Watch almost always has a quick table available. This First Watch keeps things moving inside and the staff work hard. I like the first watch menu. Its big, with lots of options, and has a nice drink menu of non-coffee options. I enjoy their juice mocktails/juice drinks and their new Purple Haze is so satisfying (lemon, cane sugar, butterfly pea flower tea). For brunch, I usually go for the french toast or the biscuits and gravy. You can never go wrong with those staples! In the two times I've been here, there's been no issues. The restaurant is clean, the servers are very friendly and the service is fast, especially if you're in a rush. It's a great place to grab a quick breakfast. Literally anyone can find something on the menu and I have yet to leave unhappy. read more

Although the place was not crowded, our breakfast dishes came out and were placed in front of customers at a different table!! Aftrer BOTH plates were put in front of the others, one server, picked up the posted and proceeded to bring one plate to my wife. Mine...disappeared! Flagged down our server, who apologized for the serving to the wrong table. My plate had to be reordered. Finally the dish was served. Upon paying the bill, the mgr asked the usual, how was everything. When I explained that happened, the mgr stepped right up and comped our meal. Kudos to the mgr for stepping up. Will I be back?
