Very pleasant and colorful cafe at the West end of Eton. Menu on the wall includes full salads, sandwiches and pizza. You order at the counter and take a number, then find a table. Tables are plenty, and there is an overflow room. My Mediterranean salad was two meals! I opted for chicken over turkey. Included were lettuce, cherry tomatoes, Feta, Greek olives, cucumbers, and garlic croutons. Pastries and cookies were in the glass case. This location is very nice. I recommend. read more

Am I the last person to realize that Stone Oven is now Cafe Honeycomb and is under new ownership? I walked in from the back, completely confused and an employee quickly assured me that although the name was different, they still offered the same good quality food and recipes. I came specifically for the Niçoise salad and although it was no longer on the menu as it was before (they offer a tuna salad salad), the employee assured me that they could still make it. I ended up getting the Mediterranean salad and added dry tuna and red onion. The salad was indeed just as good as I remembered and their balsamic is delightful and light. I also got a cinnamon croissant, which was flaky, soft, and delicious. My order came up to $21.70, which is so much for a tuna salad and croissant, but that's the way it is right now. The space looks like it got a minor upgrade, but nothing too drastic. Fresh paint and honeycomb details. All of the employees were super friendly and accommodating. I took a while to decide on what I wanted after the shock of it being a new place and the cashier was really patient with me. I also noticed her greeting many regular guests by name, which was sweet. The location was very nice and spacious. There was a lot of sandwich and salad options. They had fountain drinks as well as various coffee beverages. I tried the tarragon chicken salad sandwich and thought it was solid. The chips that came with it were kettle cooked which I liked but the iced coffee was honestly just ok. I'm in a salad phase so excited to check this place out since it's an area that I frequent. I had the choice of 8 delectable varieties and went with the Mediterranean. It was lunchtime and luckily no one in line. Greeted by a team of friendly staff and food came out in a jiffy. The entree was very generous in protein and easily could be a meal for two. Oddly there was no vinegrette type dressing and the default was a thick balsamic which did the job, although chunky in some parts. I would add that the fountain drink cup was very flimsy and collapses when you try to grab hold of it. I will definitely return to try other items. I love this place! We've come here a few times and it's always been consistent in good food, lots of study space, and friendly service. We came here after a busy morning of boxing and groceries (conveniently located in the same plaza as Trader Joe's) to eat breakfast and study. My partner always gets the bagel and lox plate which he loves. This time I got the quiche which was yummy! I also tried their seasonal chocolate covered strawberry latte with oat milk which was delicious. They have plenty of seating, free WiFi, and lots of windows and natural lighting. There's so much free parking and free restroom right around the corner. Best study spot! read more

They got my takeout order wrong -- Tuna sandwich is not a chicken Caesar salad. I returned to the restaurant, after driving all the way home and back, only to find the restaurant closed. The employee--same one who took my order and had no problem accepting the tip--opened the door. When I told her what happened, she said, "you can come back tomorrow." This place was a lot better when it was Stone Oven. They are expensive and not competent. Spend your money elsewhere. read more

I received toast, a small plastic condiments container of smashed avocado. The smash was ice cold with big chunks of not just unripe, but very hard avocado. I ventured out from my usual weekend breakfast spots and tried Stone Oven. Big Mistake! First, the girls behind the counter are so unfriendly and unwelcoming. The attitude they give off is that they are doing you a favor by waiting on you. No basic customer service skills like saying "can I help you", "thank you" or "enjoy". Looking at reviews, complaints about service have been going on for years. I can only assume the owners don't pay attention to customer feedback, or they don't care. Then there's the food. The Avocado Toast I ordered was literally a piece of toasted bread with a side container of guacamole. I laughed out loud when I opened the container and saw what it was. They charge $5.50 for this. If it had been any more I would have complained. I'll be sticking with Luna or On The Rise from now on. read more

I usually enjoy my experience with the Honeycomb Restaurant in Woodmere. However, today, I experienced utter disrespect from a young lady named Pam who claims she is the manager. I was just standing in line today, trying to decide what to oder; when all of a sudden , this individual named Pam decided to be very rude and nastay toward me for absolutely no reason. So, a young lady named Aja was very sweet and she decided to take my order. I gave a five dollar TIP FOR HER KINDNESS. Then the other individual named Pam decided be even nastier. She said, what's five dollars? She (Pam) started arguing with me in front of customer and the other employees heard her. She just wanted to have the last word. She said that I was mad that she would not talk to me. WHAT? NO! I told her that I did not want to talk to her. She just kept talking about me to the other employees, long after I sat down to eat my food. I was almost afraid to eat after a satanic attack from someone who claimed to be a manager. I am appalled and shocked that the owner of Honeycomb Cafe would hire such an ill mannered young woman. I told her that she would regret talking to me the way she did. I hope this restaurant responds. The joy of eating food out is half the quality of the food, and half the professionalism of the employees. Pam needs customer service training. read more

Got my sandwich order wrong for carry out. I returned and they remade it (incorrectly again, but I left with it frustrated). I also ordered a latte that contained no coffee, just hot milk. They remade it 3 times telling me I "must not be used to how their coffee machine makes coffee." Not one person that helped me apologized. When this restaurant was Stone Oven it had the best oatmeal in Cleveland. It appears that under new ownership there is a different recipe and approach. Unfortunately, it is quite bad. Please go back to the old recipe as there was no reason to change it. The current oatmeal is bad. It is meaningfully below the quality of instant oatmeal I can make in my microwave. 3.5 stars-The first time I ordered a salad from stone oven, it was phenomenal. The lettuce was fresh and crispy, the staff was great and friendly, and the salad was well made with lots of toppings and flavorful, well-seasoned chicken. The dressing was one of my favorites and the bread on the side was homeade. I was so impressed, that I went back and got another just a few days later. However, the second time (3 days later) it was totally different. The lettuce was wilted and slimey, I had to throw half of it away. The toppings were much less, and just thrown in a container. It was very messy and they even made my salad wrong that I ordered right off the menu, I had to go back and ask them to put chicken on my "asian chicken salad", which they gave an attitude about doing. When I went to grad school in the area I frequented The Stone Oven on a regular basis. The food is dependable and I mean that in the best way possible! The chicken curry sandwich with couscous is such a comfort food that I crave. It always hits the spot. So why just A-OK? I adore them dearly but the service can be brutal. I can't explain it, but there's always an issue or confusion. I've had a few times where I've spent nearly double the amount of time needed for a standard to-go order because of mismanagement of a short line or apathetic staff. Sigh. This seems to be a newer development recently. I believe this can change! Otherwise, Stone Oven has good coffee and strong wi-fi. It still holds up as a place to meet for coffee, just be ready for what you're getting into! This location also continues to be super popular because of its prime location amongst the hottest Woodmere shopping. I'll stick to coffee here for a bit. read more

This place fully deserves a 5-star rating, do not be dissuaded by older, outdated reviews which bash aspects that are not pertinent to the dining experience at the time of writing this post (January 2021). The Stone Oven on Chagrin Boulevard has not just adapted during the time of COVID but more so evolved into the ideal fast-casual cafe where working professional and busy people can get food with ease. I love supporting local businesses and I'm being completely honest when I say Stone Oven's foray into online ordering through the Toast Takeout App have made it so much easier for me. As someone who was limited time during the day to go out and get lunch, being able to order online and drive over to the restaurant to have my food ready when I get there is exactly what I am looking for. Convenience aside, Stone Oven has some of the tastiest lunch in the area! I always get the Chicken Romain salad with added cherry tomatoes and their house dressing. It's the perfect combination of crisp and refreshing from the lettuce and tomatoes combined with the savory crunch from the croutons and sun-dried tomatoes. The chicken adds heft and protein and the dressing combined everything in a smooth but tangy taste. She chose the Mediterranean salad, I the Asian Chicken salad, and both were quite good. The place is busy at lunchtime, and I appreciated it when one of the employees offered to take our plates when we were finished eating (especially since I was unsure about where to deposit them). I have eaten here in the past a couple of times, and each time had a good experience. While the menu is not terribly adventurous, our food was fresh and tasty, and on a future visit, I will likely order another salad. Service wasn't of the knock-your-socks-off variety, but it was certainly sufficient for what we needed.
