We've been to Element 41 about a dozen times over the past year. We typically go for Sunday brunch and enjoy their hamburger specials, truffle fries, etc. While at our last visit, the server had asked me what sauce I'd like with my sweet potatoes fries. I told her to surprise me with one. She brought two. I also noticed I had two separate charges for both sauces on the bill. I decided to ignore and keep in the back of my mind. During the Maple Festival, my son stopped in with one of his coworkers bc her mom had ordered a salad and the salad dressing hadn't been included. The server refused to provide them with a little container of salad dressing, claiming they had no proof. In the end, his coworker ended up making nearly $2 for a small amount of salad dressing. Still, I decided to ignore. Today was the last straw, we had brunch. Six of us were there, we had a mixture of hamburgers, truffle fries, breakfast and drinks. Two of us ordered 3 beers, 4 of us Ordered soft drinks. When I saw the $200 bill, I noticed the server had charged us for 8 soft drinks. When I spoke to her, I asked her if they no longer offered free refills on soft drinks. She said, there isn't really a rule. I told her they really need to post "No Free Refills" bc charging more than $7 per person to have 2 glasses of pop was absurd. To her credit, she did offer to take 1-2 charges off, but come on. Either offer free refills or don't. We were there eating a ton, gladly paying upgrades for truffle fries and such. To slap us with a ridiculous charge for 2-3 ice filled classes of coke was ridiculous. Such a shame bc we did enjoy heading there 1-2 x month on Sundays. We will not support other local business who are not so stingy with well paying patrons - I could maybe understand if 1) it was posted in menu, 2) it was a consistent rule and/or 3) we had only ordered a small amount of food. None of those were the case. Very disappointing...

Service very nice and friendly. Checked in with us appropriately. Salad was well dressed and good. Burger of the day I'm told was good as well. It came with Cole slaw and fries which were good. Pretty steady with customers on a late night shift. Seating outside too.

5 words for 5 stars. The words? Hot maple smoked chicken wings. Located on Chardon Square in the heart of Geauga County maple syrup country, is this airy and convivial space with great staff, wonderful drink menu and occasional live music. It's just a fun place with really tasty food.

Got the chance to revisit Element 41. We were originally going to go to Square Bistro for a weekday lunch but found out they're not open. So we walked down the sidewalk and went to Element 41. We've been here before, but for some reason we noticed more in today's visit than before. Upon walking in, you'll notice how dark it is. Then the host counter, just by the steps and it looks like it's being fixed. Somehow I believe it's been like that for sometime. Sitting down, immediately noticed that the chairs are a little sticky to the floors. Maybe it has something to do with the painted floors? The walls by us could get a fresh coat of paint, or maybe a Magic Eraser....something, it just needs a bit of touching-up. The decor, bar and music are all confusing. And finally, they have one big window but chose to plaster a big banner on it, so that doesn't help with the natural lighting. The food was good. Really enjoyed the soup and the burgers are very generous with beef and cooked to perfection. Loved the fries, reminds me of fair-fries. The pickle on top of the burgers are a nice added touch, just remember the juice that comes from it when you bite it. Overall, nice offering, but not a place we're dying to return-to. It was a descent option for what we were looking for.

First visit here. Good space with lots of tables and small bar. Waitress was friendly and accommodating for our need to have a quick bite to eat. Great selection of beers and a full bar. Had the smoked wings and 41 burger. Wings were meaty and had a great flavor. If you like smoked food, this is a must try. The burger was delicious. Fresh with great toppings and excellent flavor. Various local cheeses to select from. Reasonable prices. Good service. Will be back when we can spend more time.

So I'm actually giving it 3.5.stars and rounding up since they don't have half stars here on Yelp. Even though my seat was extremely uncomfortable, and the chairs were sticky the saving grace was that the food was delicious and well prepared. We all enjoyed our meals and that was a huge plus and the bathroom was clean as well which is another plus.. Our waitress, although a nice lady, did not do a great job at making sure we weren't sitting around with empty drinks for a while and we were constantly looking to see where she was and we couldn't find her. The drinks did taste really watered down especially for what we paid for. Other than that I would give this place another shot and see if it's better the second time around.

One of our favorite things to do, is find great breakfast spots with our "BFF" Carol and Steve. Last Sunday was another 'find'! Taking advantage of a delightful fall weather day, we met up in downtown Chardon for our breakfast. Even though from the outside one wonders what is inside, inside is delightful. Cozy and quaint, it includes a small full service bar, and table to accommodate their guests. Has a great everyday menu, but we were here for breakfast. And then we ordered. Many mouth-wateting choices were offered, we all choose the 3-egg omlets. They offer a vegan omlet, as well as create your own. The ladies went with build your own, veggies unlimited! The guys went the same with meats included. The omlets were served hot, and overflowing with the ingredients picked. The egg portion of the omlets were fluffy and seasoned to perfection. Everyone raved about the dish. Also each was served with the houses's version of home fries. Actually they were fresh, thin sliced potatoes, deep fried like home made potato chips!! And the HUGE order served, was readily devoured by all of us. Finally, there was a choice of bread served as well. Unlimited hot coffee was there when needed. Heads up to the only draw back. There is only one restroom used by all. May not be an issue some, but just a heads up. Overall, Element 41 is a gem on the square! We'll be back and maybe sure to try for other meals ad well.

The establishment that usually comes to mind is "Square Bistro". It sits on the scenic square in downtown Chardon. The beautiful small town atmosphere is very calming. Great for a pre or post dinner stroll. You don't have to be concerned in any way about safety before or after dark. It's just a great place to be. Making reservations is easy... but definitely necessary. Lots of people love this establishment. It is always full. They have a very nice conventional menu as well as an excellent Sushi bar. And currently they are having their "Fall Clam Bake" with loads of options. We entered and met Megan, our server for the evening. She had a smile that never quit. Her bubbly personality made for a very fun evening. She was very attentive but never intrusive. After ordering our beverages and appetizers she gave us plenty of time to get comfortable and investigate the menu options. A basket of the most wonderful warm bread was delivered to the table and when it was gone another appeared in it's place. All 4 of us ordered the "Tomato Salad" - Organic Heirloom Tomatoes | Fresh Mozzarella | Basil Olive Oil | Aged Balsamic Reduction | Fried Garlic & Shallot Chips. It is one of my favorite items from their menu. Everything is so fresh and the house made dressing is wonderful. I always look forward to it. For our entrees my brother and I ordered the "Veal Milanese Piccata" - Panko Herb & Asiago Breaded Veal Cutlet | Lemon Caper Cream Sauce | mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. Our spouses ordered "Crab Crusted Grouper" - Pan Roasted Gulf Red Grouper | Cajun Crab Crust | Lobster Saffron Cream Sauce | Chef's Grain & Vegetable. I always enjoy the food at "Square Bistro" so I must say, during this visit the Veal was not quite up to their standards. It had good flavor, however the breading was too thick and a bit dry. Also it needed some additional sauce. I only make that note because it was not the norm for them. I'm sure it was a one-time misstep. Everything else we ordered was excellent as usual. After dinner was followed up with an excellent cup of coffee and fabulous desserts. We had "Pumpkin Spice Creme Brule", "Ice Cream Bomba", and "Candy Apple Tart". Each and every one was exceptional! So, as usual, "Square Bistro" on Chardon Square was a wonderful night out. It was a great evening as always. This establishment belongs on your "must see list".

They seemed pretty busy but not too crazy. Food is good however they forgot our $18 sushi which was the main part of our meal. They also have a bowling machine and a pool table. Now let me tell you about the wings and the fries. Ooooo weeee they are delicious -now go and get you some!! 5 for $5 or 10 for $10 and I'll bet you could get 15 for $15 or 20 for $20 if you wanted to .

The onion rings (Huge & solid, that bite cleanly instead of pulling out all at once. Leaving a handful of hollow batter) & fried mushrooms ( pretty killer too) are addictive. The burgers (I'd easily say that it is one of the 2 best burgers in Geauga County. The other being JC's up the road just before the square in Burton. Hah.....Take that Cleats ) & the giant chili dog are spot on (moist but not greasy). Speaking of the chili, we all enjoyed a bowl by itself & plan to order it again. Also look forward to trying the French Onion Soup. Really good potato skins that I could make a meal of on there own. The Buffalo hot wings aren't greasy & better than Cleats in Chardon as well (but not as good as the Pterodactyl Wings from the old Maxx Doogan's in Chardon that broke our hearts when it closed............SIGH ). Nice atmosphere & it is quite pretty inside as well. Folks were friendly, professional & helpful too. Based on what I have seen I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to take the children here for lunch or dinner. All in all very happy to have found them & hope it stays this way !

It is a comfortable, intimate environment. Very nice people that work very hard at giving you a good experience. We were greeted by a pleasant young lady that also functioned as our server; as well as the establishments bartender. She ran all night. Everyone worked hard to fill the gap but I think the room could have used some additional help. The menu had a nice selection of offerings making it easy for anyone to put together a satisfying meal. The wine selection was satisfactory as well. I had a nice Valpolicella. One of the most pleasant surprises was the ability to place half-order entrees. This addresses the problem most restaurants have in oversized servings. I find nothing enticing about a plate overflowing with more food than any normal person can eat. The half serving addresses this problem nicely. I started with bruschetta that was simple, flavorful and sized perfectly. I followed that with a half order of Boar Bolognese. It was nicely done. Veal, boar, beef and pork in a nicely seasoned sauce served over properly cooked pasta. My 3 dinner partners were all quite satisfied with their meals as well. I must make note: my wife ordered the Gnocchi special, knowing full well how difficult it is to prepare properly. We were both impressed how well it presented. We finished with a very good cup of coffee and dessert. I had Afagatto with pistachio gelato... excellent. However, my brother had the cannoli. They were a disappointment. The filling was dry and flavorless and the shells were too thick and hard. All in all we had a good experience. We will definitely return for another try. I recommend you give Cremona a try as well.
