Got a fun surprise when I came here that they do half price entrees on your birthday, which was great! The views are beautiful along the water. The outdoor dining area was closed but they have large windows that overlooks the water. The mac and cheese was AMAZING. I got a picture of the cheese pull too. It came out in a hot skillet and it was some really good Mac and cheese. I got mine as-is but you can add stuff to it if you want.

This is a must visit if you're in the Holland area! I was thoroughly impressed with the location, decor, and atmosphere of this waterfront gem. Located adjacent to downtown Holland, Boatwerks offers a premium sensory and culinary experience. The interior features modern wooden accents and exudes and nautical charm. The outdoor seating area is expansive and provides panoramic views of Lake Macatawa. It was a privilege to enjoy a beautiful late May day, dining al fresco, with a refreshing breeze. What a setting to enjoy some superb food. I opted for a vegetarian-friendly version of hot honey pizza. It was exquisite! The crust was crispy and flavorful. The mix of feta and honey was tantalizing, and when you add in fresh lake air, the meal was sublime. The Teriyaki Bowl was a rich mix of vegetables and protein, a large 6oz salmon piece. I truly cannot rave enough about this place. I am visiting from California and would like to visit each day of my visit to try a new dish and enjoy the stunning views. Service is friendly, helpful, and efficient. They take the time to answer questions and provide recommendations to enhance your dining experience. Boatwerks far exceeded my expectations. After flying overnight from San Diego, landing in Detroit, and then driving to Holland, enjoying delicious food at Boatwerks, in the sun, breeze blowing, it was pure bliss.

Such a nice location!! We stopped by for a small snack, unfortunately just too cold for us to sit outside that day Good service and that appetizer was really good !

I loved the outdoor seating here! It is right on the coast of the lake and covered by a large pavilion with flowers and string lights adorning the space. The cocktails were well made and the food was delicious. Be prepared to fight bees over your drinks though.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted promptly and put our name on the list for outside seating (they do not take reservations). We were given a wait time of 30 minutes and it was exactly that. Our server then arrived promptly at our table and although she wasn't overly friendly, she wasn't rude and she was very efficient. Be aware that if you're eating at dinner time, the sun will be setting which although gorgeous! may be a problem for your seatmates if they don't like the sun in their face the whole time. Wine, cocktails and food were ordered and came out quickly. Everything was delicious! Two of us got the salmon with orzo which was fantastic, one got the walleye sandwich and the other the cornmeal dusted perch. Everyone loved their meal. The creme brulee was ordered for dessert and it was also delicious. A fantastic meal. The place was hopping! You can tell it's a place the locals also go. Oh and while we were eating, a hot air balloon also flew over the lake. A fun experience!

Boatwerks is the waterfront destination in Holland, MI for elevated American fare. The location is the biggest attraction here. The menu changes regularly, so there's always something new to try. Because the menu changes consistently, the dishes are often hit or miss.. most dishes were dry or lacked flavor. Definitely worth visiting in the summer for a drink and app on the patio overlooking lake macatawa.

It has been a very long time since I have been to a restaurant and the server completely altered our experience. I asked could my toddlers food come out with the appetizer and her response was "if it's ready," as she shrugged her shoulders. I also asked would it be possible to do all strawberries for my toddler sided, so she doesn't waste the other fruit... Her response was that it already comes premade and they can't separate the fruit. As it was brought out to the table (as we can see in the picture) it separated. Lastly, Annie asked the other tables around us if they would like dessert... We were not offered dessert at all. I failed to mention that we came to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday as we are traveling out of town. We had a great experience with the other staff; from the host, other servers, to Grant (who ran our food out), to who I think was the manager on the floor. We always choose to be peaceful in the restaurant, so I chose to not speak to anyone in management. They offer a percentage off of your meal for your birthday with a valid ID. I was so frustrated that I did not even want to mention we were there celebrating. The restaurant was very nice and I love you have a beautiful view while dining. The food was eh. I ordered the shrimp tacos and it was all breading. The shrimp was completely overcooked. Our crab cakes were decent. My husband ordered the tortellini and was not happy with it as it. My daughter did enjoy her pizza. If we were local in the area, we probably will not be back

Service mid. My water wasn't filled until the meal ended, but waiter was pleasant. Food was absolutely trash. I ordered the ceviche, calamari, lake perch, and walleye. Ceviche was a solid 0/5. I would give it a negative review if I could. The most bland appetizer. Think a mixture of ingredients with no flavor. Calamari was all batter and stingy with octopus 0/5. All chew, no reward. Again, complete lack of flavor. I was disappointed yet again. Lake perch was 0/5. Think defrosted and fried fish nuggets. Terrible. Lacked flavor profile and depth. If I could describe it in two words, it would be salty and greasy. Walleye 3/5. The only thing that gave this fish any flavor was the sauce on the side, but again, they were stingy with the sauce. Needless to say, I'm not returning. Save your money and taste buds folks.

The view, how can you go wrong with the view from sitting outside? If I were rating the view, I would give 10 stars! Food: I had a burger, which I am convinced was a Gordon Foods frozen patty, fries were OK. Service: We saw our server three times 1. Take drink order 2. Deliver Drinks 3. Deliver Bill They must use food runners here, which makes sense as I imagine summers are incredibly busy here. Although the view was nice, we were next to some flowers which were being enjoyed by bees. Thankfully neither of us are allergic but, how scary if you are allergic to bees. I have learned to not swat at bees and they will leave you alone, which they did. All and all this was a "Meh" and the absolute only reason I would return is for the view.

We had a fantastic group (8) outing on the Boatwerks patio. The patio is modern, upscale, wraps around the building, well-spaced, and clean. Steve was attentive, warm, and eager to please; Steve was the best server we've had all summer. Drink menu has something for everyone. Specifically, we enjoyed the Basil Lemonade; it was refreshing and different. We enjoyed the chicken sandwich, salad, salmon, burger, tacos, ravioli, and everything else we ordered. Request Steve, sit outside, enjoy the view, stick with/order the basics, and enjoy your evening.

12 oz steak & sides for $20!
Jayson D.

Get there right now!--there's a great deal going on: Twelve ounce steak, mashed potatoes, and veggie of the day for $20! Not sure how long this will last. Otherwise, Boatwerks is still a solid choice for a good meal and ambiance. I usually prefer to sit in the bar area. It'll be jam-packed in the summer, but don't shy away from a winter visit to take advantage of the more laidback vibes and homey recipes. But yeah--there's a $20 steak dinner going on. Chow down while the deal lasts!

My husband isn't always a fan of tapas restaurants, but this place did the trick! We started with their manchego fries. These were thick cut fries covered with finely shredded manchego and served with a side of aioli. I'm a sucker for fries and was happy to find they offered them as well as the usual Patatas bravas. Next, our scallops arrived. The yellow sauce was so bright and lovely. Then came our burger. Woah. This was definitely one of the best burger we've come across anywhere. It is very fatty (it's topped with a thick slice of Brie as well as aioli and panchetta), so sharing might be the right choice. The bun was the perfect balance as it was super fluffy with some buttery, toasted edges. We'll be hard pressed to top this burger anytime soon. Lastly, we got their tiny tacos. The beef was so tender and totally filled the little wonton taco. It was topped with a red sauce that reminded me of a hot and sweet salsa - so good! Our server was very attentive and great at answering all our questions. We will definitely return on our next visit!!

If you want to find a place to try with friends, family, or a date, this is a pretty cool place to try out! There are pretty good options for food on their menu. The dishes that have borders around them are what the chefs recommend. Me and my friend decided to go that route. Warm Goat Cheese - really good! It had a really thick and gooey texture, and I felt with the warmth it added to the deliciousness to it. It really is a comforting dish to try out. I thought the Spanish tomato sauce really complimented to the warm goat cheese. They offer 6 pieces of bread; if you need more, they will give you more! Smoked Chicken Empanadas - this dish was pretty good. The shell was very crispy, but the chicken inside was actually pretty dry, to my surprise. The salsa tasted good though, and I really loved the red pepper cream. Beautiful dish though! I don't think I'd get it again though. I do prefer my empanadas slightly on the softer side. Garlic Shrimp Adobado - this was probably my favorite dish. My friend thought it was a little too strong with garlic, but what else would you expect with "roasted garlic, confit garlic butter, garlic chips" as the description?? I personally didn't find it too garlic-y. I loved it and would recommend it. It was flavorful and I loved the soft cloves of garlic. It wasn't too heavy of a dish. Smoked Bacon Wrapped Medjool Dates - this was also one of my other favorites. If you're getting this dish with other ones, my suggestion is to eat this last because the dates are naturally pretty sweet which almost make it feel like you're eating a dessert dish. The bacon was sooo good and cooked so well with the dates. Super decadent dish and unique! If you are not familiar with tapas style, the front of the menu talks about tapas and the communal aspect of it. I loved that they did it! True to tapas style, the restaurant can serve you one to two dishes at a time, which I would recommend. The service was great. Super friendly and warm. On the slower side, but I think it was just because it was pretty busy that night.

Very good but a tad too salty for our taste. So many times when restaurants try to cook a variety of different Asian dishes from multiple countries you end up w/a variety of mediocre dishes. This wasn't the case w/Taste of Asian where each dish had its own unique blend of seasonings that made it unique to the country being represented. Our host Lena was very helpful in helping us choose our dishes. The young girl (probably her daughter came out to check on our needs several times). Her 4 year old son was tasked with bringing out a sticky rice ball wrapped to each table. I asked him how many girlfriends he had he held out his hand w/4 fingers. The crab Rangoon wonton wrapper is thick, too thick and heavy. The creamed cheese inside has an odd texture and leaves an unpleasant after taste, not what I expected, super sweet. Color looks odd. The whole thing is off and doesn't taste right. The dipping sauce is not quite duck sauce or what I expected either. I have a feeling today's lunch will be interesting. I am hopeful the rest of the apps and meal goes better than the first starter. The chicken satay is super dry. The peanut sauce is thick as heck. The spring roll had some older lettuce, not great. The sauce was not peanut sauce, just topped with peanuts was all. The fried rice is meh, nothing special. The main dishes aren't big portions. The drunken noodles aren't too bad, small portion, which is fine. The drunken noodle was the best part of the meal, that's not a good thing. Service and most of the apps and food leaves much to be desired.

I think the Meyer lemon butter made the dish was so oddly sweet it mixed in with the rice underneath. Overall, this dish was sadly disappointing since we were looking forward to something savory and herby but got what felt like a sugar bomb for chicken.
