We just had a spectacular 15th anniversary dinner at Reservoir! The restaurant has a great vibe. Our server JJ was absolutely wonderful! Started off with the calamari appetizer which was delicious. The scallops and shrimp with pasta were cooked to perfection! We ate every bite and topped it all off with a decadent crème brulee and chocolate cake for dessert! This place is so great! D- is for Dogs! you can bring your pooch to the outside deck. I have never been to a place that offered iced water bowls, a pup menu and servers so nice to all the customers! O- is for order. Our order was great the dog had a bacon bowl. She of course loved it. The men had pizza and it was fire! I ordered the bacon burger and it was so amazing, there were two patties with cheese in between. I don't like the bun so the kitchen served it up without! But I got that side Greek salad as a sub for fries and the bun- so total bonus points! G- is for Great! Our server was so kind and attentive they really nailed it! Great service, fantastic location, unhappy campers will find happiness here. S- is for So Fun! We had just a lovely time here and I am already thinking about another day trip maybe with some kayaking from the rental across the street and another great meal here! They are dog friendly on their patio which offers an excellent view of the water. We came here for breakfasts. Once by ourselves and the second time, we took our pup. This is her vacation, afterall! Food and service were excellent both times. They have a dog menu. I was super excited to try their soft shell crab Benedict but they were out so I had the carnivore omelet the first time and a bowl with sausage, bacon, veggies and covered with sausage gravy and eggs on top. Both were delicious! Birdie had some unseasoned eggs which she thoroughly enjoyed. Our waitress was super sweet and made sure Birdie was taken care of with a fresh bowl of water before her meal. My husband enjoyed his meals here as well. We were so grateful to have found a place so close to where we were staying that also accommodated our dog so well. read more

Stopped in for brunch and sat outside at a shaded table. Even though it wasn't on the menu, I asked about Bloody Marys, and they had them. Angelica, our server, warned us they're spicy. We like em spicy. We also ordered a couple Beach Please beers. We started with the Cheese Curds. These were the best cheese curds we've had. Perfectly seasoned. Light breading. The curds inside were pillowy soft. For our entree, we got the Gyro. The meat was tender and the pita was soft. We paired it with the kettle chips, which were salty and crispy. They compete with our favorite restaurant's chips. Angelica made the whole meal better. She was bubbly and friendly, offered us beer samples and was attentive without hovering. The view of the lake across the street rounded out a fantastic visit. We'll be back. read more

This spot is super cute. It's located right outside of the state park and has tons of indoor/outdoor and shaded seating overlooking Lake Macatawa. My friends and I met up there recently for a late breakfast before going to Tunnel Park beach. I appreciated that they had their own parking lot! We were some of the only people there so we were seated right away. The breakfast menu has something for everyone, including several vegan options and a kid's menu. I ordered the steak and eggs (medium rare) and others got the basic breakfast and the burrito. They have cocktails and boozy slushies but we all stuck with water this time. Our food didn't take too long to come out. My steak was a bit overcooked (closer to medium well) but it was still tender and really nicely seasoned. I wish the toast had more butter, but it was nice to get four pieces! Overall it was a good breakfast, and our server was really sweet and on top of water refills (so appreciated in the 90+ degree heat). I'm sure this spot gets super busy on weekends, so I'm glad we got to check it out on a slower day. I'd come back! read more

Our experience at Reservoir was fantastic. The staff was exceptionally friendly and the service was fast. The ambiance was upscale but casual. The food was out of this world. We started with the dip trio, our favorite of which was the spinach artichoke dip. For dinner, I had the fried lake perch, which was outstanding, and my wife got the chicken piccata, which she said was the best she'd ever had. We chose this restaurant because it had a dog friendly outdoor patio. It also had some delicious food! They had just opened but two employees were quick to get us set up outside. Our server was pleasant and attentive. They have a dog menu - absolutely adorable. Our pup's burger patty was brought out first, in a medal bowl already cut up in pieces. She loved it. Our orders followed soon after. The perch was sooo good! The tartar had good flavor but was unexpectedly sweet. Everyone who tried it liked it. The fries were crisp, not greasy. The human burger had good flavor, the cheese curds were a nice touch. The chicken pesto sandwich was pretty delicious as well. The grilled cheese bread was something more restaurants should do! So good. We rented bikes in downtown Holland steps away from our hotel and took a ride up to the beach finding the Reservoir for breakfast this morning. Great local spot with a view. Two Mediterranean omelettes with toast and hash browns. Added sausage patties on the side. Coffee was great and we were brought ice water without even asking. Huge! And..was offered refills on our coffee voluntarily without prompting. Huge. Portions are huge and the omelette had the perfect mix of veggies and the most fresh feta. Impressive! read more

I went here with a vegan friend who was impressed with the number of choices that she could order. I also brought my dog since they have a Puppy Patio with its own menu for dogs. I had the soft shell crab sandwich with house made chips. The sandwich had a nice spiciness to it and the chips were really good. My friend had the Herbivore Burgervore with the chips and enjoyed that a lot. My dog loves the grilled chicken breast. It was pleasant sitting on the patio on a late summer evening. If you're doing a girls trip to holland beach, stop by Reservoir for some delicious food and drinks! Located right by the water, this place offers indoor/outdoor seating for all the best vibes. Although they don't do reservations, we were able to have lunch there and sit together with 6 of us. My favorite part about the menu is all the diverse options from pasta to sandwiches to salads and burgers - they have it all! They offered vegan options and had both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks! I enjoyed my chicken parm and my friends got a vegan gyro, soft crab po'boy, pizza, wings, and ziti a la vodka. Winter Wonderland Wednesday! We like to support our local businesses and restaurants in the "off season!" A drive out to Ottawa' Beach in the Winter Months is a beautiful experience! Reservoir is I a great spot to enjoy either a drink and an appetizer after sunset or why not Just Drive out for Breakfast or Brunch!? They have a variety of different options for the sweet or the savory! A warm cup.off your favorite drink. The service is very good and in the winter they have a warm fire glowing. If you enjoy whoa game they do have screens. We actually had a find convert this morning with the patrons about the history of Cricket . We all walked away a little wiser! I enjoyed a Beautiful Omelette and My husband the Regular Breakfast. Some may say it's expensive at 12-14 dollars. But the quay is there for me worth the Price for the value! We had lunch here for Mother's Day and were initially impressed to be seated immediately. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. We waited a significant amount of time before having to flag down a server ourselves. Even after our orders were taken, we sat for another 50 minutes without food or a single check-in from the staff. While our children were patient, the lack of communication was unprofessional and left us feeling ignored. It's disappointing that a special occasion was overshadowed by such unprepared service. The manager selected who he greeted and clearly chose to ignore our table. We won't be returning, but I hope management uses this feedback to improve their holiday staffing. read more

Reservoir is a great near-lakeside spot with fantastic food and a gorgeous view! I came as an out-of-towner and felt right at home with the friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. We got the fried cheese curds as a starter and they were honestly almost enough to be a full meal split between two! We expected a small dish and got a full plate. I don't remember my partner's main course, but I got a really good chicken sandwich that I only had half of while there, since the cheese curds were so filling. I also got this really pretty blue mocktail that was citrusy. As a tourist, I'm not sure if I'll be back, but I definitely would be if I were closer! I went to dinner with some friends for their birthdays, and we chose the Reservoir because our first choice, unbeknownst to us, closed at 8:00 pm. We rolled up to the Reservoir. It's a casual, beechy restaurant just within Holland State Park. The selection was steak and seafood, sandwiches and burgers, pasta and salads. A little bit of everything. I ordered the Cacio E Pepe with a side of French Onion Soup. I also ordered an antipasto salad to take home for lunch the next day. The French onion soup was delicious and cheesy. The Cacio E Pepe had steak pieces on it, which is unusual, since it is usually meatless, But the steak was so tasty! My two friends got free desserts for their birthdays. If I had one observation, it was the service was a little slow, and the service didn't check on us. We felt like we had to flag them down for the bill. However they were friendly and accurate, so it was a small inconvenience. Overall, it was good food, pleasant service, casual atmosphere and pleasant scenery. read more

The fried perch was very greasy, actually not very tasty at all and we had two people order that. Out of two full orders only about 3 pieces got eaten. I had high hopes for my pizza but it was blah. I brought it home and fixed it to eat later. My granddaughter had her heart set on Alfredo sauce with pasta but this "Italian" place only had pesto Alfredo. The food ordered was good, the service was slow, but the kicker on a $57 order, I found it very inappropriate and cheap to charge me $.25 for a small slice of fresh inion on my burger. Cozy little restaurant along the main road with a great view of the lake, especially with outside dining. Parking lot is small, so if it's busy, expect to park along the road. The menu has a lot of good and unique selections, and the prices are competitive. The Gyro was good, as were the kettle chips. The lightly breaded calamari and perch was a bit too lightly breaded. The fried garlic curds were a delicious appetizer and we all enjoyed the oregano-forward marinara served as a dipping sauce for the curds and as the sauce for several of the Italian dishes. Overall a good experience and the service was good. The food was average but the menu has a lot of unique options so you should find something you'll be satisfied with. I had their cheese curd burger and while it was good I feel it was constructed the wrong way. The burger should be constructed in opposite (upside down) order. I actually flipped the burger and I thought it was 10x better! The pasta we ordered was so-so. I'm pretty picky with pasta dishes having grown up in an Italian home...im set in my ways a bit....however I feel 75% of people will be satisfied but overall I thought the dish lacked flavor. The drinks were OK - I ordered an old-fashioned and what's typical with restaurants is they put too much ice in old-fashioned' s so I was disappointed there as I had to pick ice out of the drink. Lastly we had the spicy lobster dip which was very good. This was recommended to us and I was very pleased. It's not very spicy so don't let that scare you off. read more
