    Sunday Roast
    Leang E.

I was excited to see that reservations were available on the day of on a Saturday evening at 6:15pm. We arrived on time, with my husband arriving a couple of minutes after we were seated. It took a few minutes to get our drink orders in and our food, but I noticed the meals themselves took much longer. There were people seated after us getting their meals before us. We started with the bread and butter and the hush puppies, No bread for me, but the hush puppies were really great with the strawberries and jam sauce. It was a nice variety of flavors with the sweetness of the jam, tart of the strawberries and a little bit of spice in the hush puppies. The Sunday Roast was pretty good as well. My complaint would be that there was just fried onions and no other vegetables on any other large plate menu option. I tried the meatloaf that my mom got and that was decent. The disappointment was trying the steak Diane that my dad got and it was at the end where my sister also got the dish and it was really salty to the point of bitterness. If I had gotten that as my meal I definitely would have sent it back. My husband had also requested a plain cheeseburger and that was also served with sauce that it comes with, so not sure what was going on with the kitchen. This definitely made me consider that maybe reservations were available because it's just not that great of a spot and busy. It was also my mom's 75th birthday dinner that we were taking her to celebrate, and despite us mentioning it on Tock and when we were there there wasn't even a single recognition of it. It was incredibly disappointing and probably not a chance that we would go back or recommend. I am also mad now that they changed the former delicious Poquito into this place.

Second time visiting the newly flipped restaurant, Lovejoy. The portion sizes do not align to their "small, medium, and large" menu categories. The food was flavorful, but I left hungry and unsatisfied. The cost of the dishes does not equate to the amount I expected. I will pick seventy six over neighboring Lovejoy next time.

As someone with celiac disease, eating out can be stressful, but when I informed our server, he immediately reassured me that they take cross-contamination seriously and ensure a safe meal. While they do offer outdoor dining, we opted to sit inside, and the service and food were fantastic from start to finish. To drink, I started with the kiwi pineapple margarita--they offer multiple types of rims, and I went with sugar, which was delicious. The summer sangria also sounded amazing, but I stuck with the margarita since it was guaranteed gluten-free. For food, we shared the ricotta with gluten-free toast, and for my main, I had the Beyond Burger on a gluten-free bun with a side of chips that were confirmed to be safely gluten-free. Finding a place that is this accommodating, knowledgeable, and delicious is rare, and it made our trip so much better!

I recommend getting an appetizer and pizza if you go as those are very good. Great drinks too! I love their outdoor seating in the summer! Definitely make sure to check out if you're looking for a good downtown dinner spot in Holland!

The…read morespace has a great vibe--they have an awesome outdoor beer garden, though we opted to grab a table inside this time. They also have a little shop on-site, which is a fun feature to check out! Their menu has items clearly marked "GF," and they offer both GF buns and pizza crusts, along with a huge selection of cocktails. When I asked about the seasonal sangria, our server was incredibly knowledgeable. She explained that they make their vodka in-house and while it's gluten-free, it's not certified gluten-free, but their gin is certified. I really appreciated that level of transparency! Our server even asked if I had celiac disease, which immediately put me at ease. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip, which they brought out with gluten-free chips, explicitly announcing it as "gluten-free" when they set it down. For my main, I ordered the garlic cheese pizza. The crust was really good--perfectly cooked and delicious. The service was attentive, safe, and welcoming from start to finish. If you are celiac or gluten-sensitive, this spot takes cross-contamination seriously. I will definitely be back!

Although it was busy, we were seated immediately. There's plenty of seating both inside and outside, which helped the wait. The menu is fairly short, but that wasn't an issue since there were still plenty of appealing options. I started with the Dragon's Milk Toasted Marshmallow drink. Based on the name, I expected something sweet, but it was much more bitter than anticipated. We also ordered the Hot Honey Pepperoni Pinwheels, and they were incredible. Crispy, flavorful, and easily one of the best appetizers I've had at a restaurant. I highly recommend giving them a try. For my meal, I got the Dixie Luau, their take on a Hawaiian pizza. It was excellent. The crust was the perfect thickness, and the toppings were generous. What really stood out was the pineapple, it tasted fresh and high quality compared to the canned pineapple that many places use. If the weather is nice, definitely ask to sit on the front patio. It was the perfect place to relax, enjoy the food, and do a little people-watching. The atmosphere was great, and I'd absolutely come back the next time I'm in the area.
