Was a line at the door for lunch time service( opened for breakfast and u til 2p). Two of us didn't wait long for seating at counter which was fine. Really extensive menu of many breakfast favorites and lunch terms. Service fast , efficient and courteous. Price really reasonable in diner atmosphere.

Everyone needs to dine at Windmill Restaurant at least once in their lives for a stick-to-your-ribs kind of breakfast. You can't go wrong with any option, especially the egg-based dishes and homemade breads...and THE CINNAMON ROLL. It's an icon. Try it deep-fried because you only live once. Also: waiting outside in line is part of the experience. Don't let your impatience get the best of you. You're just minutes away from a meal you won't forget.

We were in Holland to visit Hope College for a tour, and I'm so happy our hotel recommended the Windmill for breakfast. Anna was the sweetest server around, and she took great care of us. This feels like the perfect small town cafe with friendly service, hot coffee, and fresh baked thick cut bread used for their toast and French toast. Prices are great and the food is great - I feel like we found a gem on our short visit. The place fills up quickly so if you're not early you may have to wait...

Love this place. The line looked intimidating but it moves fast. I was here the last day of the Tulip festival so I'm not sure if there is always a line but the 30-35 min went fast. Great food. My only caution is to carefully read the menu. I got the hash brown omelette thinking it was hashbrowns wrapped around an omelette but the hashbrowns were a sub for the eggs. That was my mistake but in case you don't want a pound of potatoes and little protein, be my guest. The homemade bread was my favorite. Such great food

Lovely little restaurant right off of the main Street. Looks like a lot of locals come here but we saw quite a few tourists too. The menu has a lot of options on it. Primarily breakfast but there are some good lunch specials and lunch options. I had the Turkey club and it was very traditional, very good. Best of all, the prices are very reasonable for each of the entrees. Would definitely come back here again.

Super cute restaurant and snagged two seats at the bar before it started to get busy around 845 am on a Sunday. Two omelettes: spinach and feta with sausage patties and sourdough toast. Denver omelette with sausage links and sourdough toast. His links were much better had a great flavoring to it. Toast was awesome it had been awhile since either of us eat bread. Spinach/feta omelette was food and take note it comes with mushrooms and tomatoes, too. Sold. Coffee was super good and super hot. Cute little establishment and it hooked us up till dinner.

Hearty Breakfast. I had the 2eggs sausage , hash browns and home made bread for toast. So good! especially the hash browns. My friend had the homemade cinnamon buns. He did not leave a crumb. He said it was delicious. Service was excellent. She was friendly and attentive and the place was cute with a friendly atmosphere. It's a small place so you form a line outside the place to see who goes next.

The service was quick but I got the hashbrown omlette and I could barely eat half. It was very bland no amount of salt could help it. It was also covered with grease. The highlight of my meal was the crispy hashbrown bits and the raisin toast that was slathered in so much butter I had to get a napkin to dab some off.

If you are in downtown Holland this is a must go place. They close pretty early (2pm most days) & they go first come first serve, no reservations but if you arrive when it's busy check out the neighboring shops and pop back over! We really enjoyed our visits to the Windmill Restaurant during our vacation. The decor is adorable, service was great and we enjoyed every dish we had. The philly burrito is great, and they do serve breakfast all day - the french toast was delicious!

COME HUNGRY! We decided yesterday that breakfast away from our hotel sounded good. They open early and we recommend an early start to avoid the crowd. They offer different creamers for the coffee allowing you to choose from many flavors. My wife opted for the Bird Nest and I had the Hashbrown omelet. I cannot stress enough, come hungry! The portions are beyond generous, I ordered the smaller version and it covered the entire plate. It came with bread choices and I tried the deep fried cinnamon roll. My wife choose the homemade bread with hers. My roll was covered in house made icing and was delicious, just the right combination of chewy and soft. My wife's toast was more akin to Texas toast as the slices are thick cut. The diner isn't large and has comfortable booths along one wall and counter seating on the other, with the kitchen in back. We had a great breakfast here and can't fathom how anyone could finish what they serve!

This place is your typical small-town cafe: long, narrow restaurant with large portions of delicious food. Our server (Anna M) knew details of everything on the menu and her descriptions were perfect. My wife ordered pancakes and they were done perfectly and were a cross between fluffy and chewy. My sausage hash brown omelet was a work of art. It was, as you can see, a massive bunch of hashbrowns, cooked flat and filled with onions, cheese and sausage. I don't want to think of the calorie content but can assure you it was worth every bite! This is a restaurant you must visit if you are here on vacation or simply passing through. Keep in mind they are only open for breakfast and lunch.

Windmill is a fantastic brunch place! I in joy going there with my family for special occasions. On my dad's birthday they give him a cinnamon roll! don't get me started on their cinnamon rolls!!!! I also love their buttermilk pancakes. Everyone has to go there at least once in their lives. Make sure you go and support the people that work so hard to make that delicious food.

A true Holland classic! There's always a line, but it moves quickly and is worth the wait. The food is simple, nostalgic, and their cinnamon rolls are to die for.

One of my favorite breakfast spots. Hate to recommend because it already has a wait, but love the hash brown omelet and fried cinnamon roll.

Can you overnight ship one of your cinnamon rolls to Texas??! I would love to surprise my wife with one. She (well, me too) thinks they are amazing!

That would be an amazing idea! But I'm sure it wouldn't taste the same as it would if it were served right to your table! You'll just have to make a trip up to come visit us! Hope to see you guys soon!!!

I was surprised it wasn't very busy, as it was a very bright and welcoming spot. I loved all the plants and natural light. The menu had some really delicious sounding specialty lattes, but I went with a basic oat milk cortado, which is my go-to these days. I sat at the front window on a short and surprisingly comfortable stool. The wifi was free and fast, and my cortado was smooth and delicious. (I do have to note that they did not take my name for my order, just called out my drink, aka my biggest coffee shop pet peeve. But this does not affect my coffee shop ratings!) They have some food options like waffles, but it looked like they only serve those until 1 pm. I also saw a cocktail menu, which was intriguing! I like a good coffee shop/bar combo. I would definitely come back to this cute shop the next time I'm in the area!

I failed to mention that we came to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday as we are traveling out of town. We always choose to be peaceful in the restaurant, so I chose to not speak to anyone in management. They offer a percentage off of your meal for your birthday with a valid ID. I was so frustrated that I did not even want to mention we were there celebrating. The restaurant was very nice and I love you have a beautiful view while dining. The food was eh.
