Great outdoor and dog-friendly patio and good service. We stopped in for a pint of Guinness and Magner's and also tried the baked feta. Delicious!

When exploring Holland saw many dining here & felt like fish & chips. In downtown so convenient location. The fish & chips portion was huge and really liked the fresh Cole slaw. Also sampled the Reuben which was delicious as well. Very busy but wait staff was helpful & was worth the wait.

We came here on a Sunday night, not very many places were open and this place was very quiet but we were greeted by a friendly server. My daughter loves fish and chips, but here I would say the chips are much better than the fish - which was bland and disappointing. The fish tacos were recommended by the server, but it was really just a piece of fried fish like you get from the frozen bag at Target served in a plain tortilla with a bit of salsa and cream sauce. The cocktail was tasty and the french fries were really good.

When I first moved to West Michigan 3 years ago, a dear friend who's been to Ireland several more times than I suggested that the Curragh Irish Pub in downtown Holland, Michigan, was the best pub in West Michigan, so I had pretty high hopes I started over at 4 PM on a Saturday with the pub only half full of patrons. After being immediately seated at a table for one, I waited 15 minutes for the wait staff to greet me and take my order (apparently a mix-up in shift change). I ordered a pint of Sir Arthur's best on draft (which is never as sweet as the samples at St James's Gate in Dublin) and was pleased to see a proper pour, at least. I expected a complimentary appetizer or something as an apology, but I received nothing. I ordered the fish and chips. The presentation was what I expected for a high-scale pub. The house-made coleslaw was good and a nice local variant that wasn't too sweet or tangy. The steak fries (chips) were spot on. The fish, however, was somewhat of a disappointment for a $24 dish, as there was not a lot of flavor from the Guinness batter mix, and the fryer was not hot enough to make the fish crispy; it was primarily soggy due to the oil being at too low a temperature in the fryer. Overall, it was a $15 meal that cost $34. If you're looking for a high-quality pub, maybe West Michigan is not the place for you.

Amazing Irish food here. It is a darling place. Our waitress was so sweet and gave great recommendations.

    Reuben eggroll

This is the first time I've ever left a zero dollar tip. The waitress was on her phone more than engaging with her customers. The Reuben eggrolls had hardly any meat in them. The service was awful. When we cashed out the waitress gave us our bill amount in cash of $36 and did not return the amount for $100 cash which was $64 in change. The manager from back of house came out and engaged with us more than the bar staff. I don't think we'll ever come back here. Disappointed in a barn restaurant that appeared to have good curb appeal.

Great spot for drinks! Pro tip, come in the winter and sit by the fire - super cozy atmosphere. They serve traditional Irish / English pub fare. We didn't get them this time, but their mozzarella sticks are famous and a must try if visiting!

My wife and I stopped by for appetizers and beer. We started with a crock of beer cheese soup. It was rich and hearty with potatoes and sausage. It was delicious and well seasoned and thick. The spinach and artichoke dip was awesome very rich with a hint of garlic. The dip was served with both chips and sourdough toast. The chips were the hands down favorite. We also had the loaded potatoe skins. They had cheese bacon green onion with a ranch dressing dip. They were good. The beer we got was the speckled hen . It was malty lightly hopped with a nice mouth feel. A well rounded brew. Our server Damon was very attentive without being pushy and did a fantastic job. The restaurant looks like an Irish pub and was very clean and well staffed.

We sat out on the patio to enjoy people watching & the decent July weather. We had a fantastic waiter who made honest and excellent suggestions. We followed his advice on several options and we were all pleased with our selections. And, this may seem trivial to some, but the side of veggies that came with my shepherd's pie were so delicious! I hate when the veggies are an afterthought, so I was so happy with these. Also, the Irish soda bread was great, too. My husband had fish tacos and it was suggested to get the cilantro lime salsa in the side, which he did. He really liked his meal. My daughter had fish & chips and thought it was fabulous. She couldn't quite finish all the fish, but my husband was happy to help with that. I come from a family of Old Fashioned drinkers and I made my Dad envious when I sent him a pic of my cocktail. It was soooo good! Clean bathroom was a bonus.

We only chose this restaurant because we were enjoying the live Irish music out front and figured by eating there, we could still hear the music. But we were amazed by good the service and food were - next time we're in Holland, this would be high on the list to return to. Shayna was one of the best servers ever. She came at all the right times and struck the perfect note of being friendly without talking too much. I asked if I could get salmon on the Mac and cheese which she knew I could but didn't know the price. I ordered it anyway, but she came back to tell me the price. By that point, I'd reconsidered because I wasn't very hungry, not because of the price, and I opted against it so I was glad she'd come back. A weird mixup happened with the salad when someone brought it and when we alerted our server, she immediately rectified it through quick problem solving. And the food was delightful. I'm picky about Mac and cheese as I find it's usually too rich for my stomach. But this was flavorful without being too rich. And the veggies were also surprisingly flavorful so rather than just getting them down for the vitamins, I thoroughly enjoyed them. My husband got chicken which was lightly breaded and cooked perfectly without drying out the chicken. Crispy without being greasy, potatoes. All in all, a perfect dinner.

When we arrived we were asked if we wanted to be seated inside or on the patio. We choose the patio. When the waitress came to take our order we were told the kitchen is about to close so we quickly put our order in. Restaurants close early in town. Being a pub you'd think it would be open late. They close at 8pm. I ordered the shepherds pie. It came with steamed veggies. They weren't seasoned, I ate most of them because they are healthy. The shepherds pie was really good. Good flavor and filling and mashed potatoes were the right ratio. My husband the Irish stew. The best part was the slice of Irish soda bread that came with it. The meat was tough. The carrots and one big hunk of potato was under cooked. He would not recommend it or order it again. I'd recommend this place. Just note that the kitchen closes early. I don't recommend the Irish stew. I recommend the Shepard pie.

I wanted so badly for this to be THE pub for the St Patrick's Sunday but I have to say they were just not on top of the day. I understand that the day before was Hollands big St Patricks day, but you do have to understand that even though st Patrick's day is on a Sunday, people are still going to want to go out and celebrate and those people included me and my mom and dad right at 11am when they opened. I guess there were staff arriving late and drinks and cups not prepped for the morning. Our bartender bless her heart, was visibly stressed and I really felt for them just wish it was better organized for the chaos that came shortly after. The place was packed within an hour and drinks were going out in all different kinds of glasses. Some people got bigger drinks than others and it was just a. Little chaotic. Overall, we enjoyed the Irish dancers and appreciated the ambiance of the pub.

Not impressed. Server was pleasant but absent for long periods. Received a diet coke instead of regular that was ordered. That in itself wasn't a big deal, but there was an extended stretch of time before the waitress came back to let her know. Food was very boring. Started with the "spicy" whipped feta. Which had the consistency and taste of cottage cheese mixed with salt and the black pepper which was used instead of the red pepper flakes in the description. The honey mixed with these flavors was a weird combo. It was accompanied with vold and dense pita bread and a crudite that didn't pair well. I also had the blackened cod caesar salad that was just okay but served strangely with a stale dinner roll.

We had to go around the block multiple times before we found a space behind the parking lot behind the restaurant. When we got into the restaurant was packed on a Tuesday night. There was a short waiting list that moved pretty quickly. The main reasons for going there was to try their James Beard award winning Trumpet burger. I also ordered an amber ale that was pretty good. It was good but coming from Chicago there are several burgers that I feel are better. Places like Au Chaval & Little Bad Wolf to name a few. My wife ordered a Mediterranean style pizza. Again coming from Chicago the pizza was very average. How can you compare this to Pequods or Lou Malnati? Hops draws a large crowd and really packs the people in. They have a good lively crowd w/a nice selection of food & beers. It was an enjoyable meal in a very crowd friendly. As someone with celiac disease, eating out can be stressful, but when I informed our server, he immediately reassured me that they take cross-contamination seriously and ensure a safe meal. While they do offer outdoor dining, we opted to sit inside, and the service and food were fantastic from start to finish. To drink, I started with the kiwi pineapple margarita--they offer multiple types of rims, and I went with sugar, which was delicious. The summer sangria also sounded amazing, but I stuck with the margarita since it was guaranteed gluten-free. For food, we shared the ricotta with gluten-free toast, and for my main, I had the Beyond Burger on a gluten-free bun with a side of chips that were confirmed to be safely gluten-free. Finding a place that is this accommodating, knowledgeable, and delicious is rare, and it made our trip so much better!

The service was extremely slow, and when we first sat down to eat, it was not busy. It took a while for someone to take our drink orders, then a while after that to order our food. We were told the tator tots had a new seasoning that had lime with it, and that we could get them without the seasoning, so we opted for that. Our meals took a very long time to arrive, and the tator tots had the seasoning on them, lime and tots do not go together. Neither my fiancé or I liked them. We asked to get fries instead, and ate our burgers while we waited. The burgers were great, we both enjoyed them. We waited a while longer for our fries, well after we finished our burgers, and decided to just tell our server to omit them from our order and give us our bill. They did take them off our bill. My fiancé ended up having to go up to the bar to pay, because no one came to our table in the meantime. Overall, just okay. We decided to eat here based on the fact we were staying at the hotel it's in. Also, $1 for a side of ranch and other condiments is a bit pricey, in my opinion.
