Had the Parmesan crusted walleye for my entree and it was SO tasty, totally recommend trying it! I love margaritas, but this blood orange margarita was not what I expected. It was too sweet for me and I personally would not recommend it. Does not taste like a margarita at all. The outdoor patio ambiance during the summer has the best sunset views. My husband surprised me with dinner at RedRock Grille for my birthday. It's been a while since I've had a 5-star meal so I thought I'd better throw out some kudos. First, the food. What can I say? It was very delicious. I was delighted that my filet mignon arrived sizzling. The asparagus and potatoes were devoured quickly, and I couldn't get enough of my husband's french fries. Next, the ambiance. Aside for the fact that we had the restaurant all to ourselves for most of our stay, the view was amazing! The dinner experience alone made me feel so fancy and underdressed. I can't wait to experience dining in the summer. I would go for a walk outside or have some drinks by the fire pit. The numerous Christmas trees and hanging ornaments gave the place such a festive vibe. Last but equally important, the service was fantastic. The place was a triple treat for my milestone birthday. Been coming here for a while and going to finally give a review. We went on Friday night and the place was very busy and lively. Our waitress was very friendly and kept our drinks and waters filled. I got the hot honey fried chicken sandwich and it was very tasty, the chicken was the right amount fried and cooked through. The chips are an underrated side. For desert our party of five got three chocolate chip cookie skillets and it was one of the best deserts I've ever had, more than enough for two people to share. I got a seltzer that was $2 off and my friend got $4 off a glass of white wine. We each ordered an appetizer because they were also $4 off on special. A friend recommended this place for a nice dinner with our family. I like the ambience, the windows make it feel open. We went at night soft lights and not too loud background music was also appreciated. Although I really think instrumental should just be the go to in most places. Personal opinion. The menu had a good mix of items that all four of us could find something we wanted. Service was excellent. My steak cooked to order in the lava rock was great. I wouldn't have minded a little instruction on the best way to navigate doing it. But I got it figured out. The fajitas that come out on the same plate were a bit messy. The oil splatters a little as it rests on the rock. Overall the food was delicious the service was great. This is a great place to go on a date, or with a group of friends! This place is really pretty. RedRock Grille is located by a golf course which adds a nice touch to the clean and minimalist scenery. We went during dinner on a Sunday night, so there weren't many people there. When you enter the building, you will walk down a set of stairs to the restaurant. The interior is beautiful and has a slightly darker sophisticated vibe to it. We got the tuna steak and the 12-oz NY Strip, and I would recommend both of these dishes. These dishes come out on hot, thick, sizzling stone boards that cook the meat. They basically continue to cook the meet as you are eating them. I liked the concept of it cause this allowed me to have complete control of the meet on how ready I liked it to be. The NY Strip had good tenderness to it and was hearty and filling for one person. You can choose two sides - one starch and one vegetable. I got the herb roasted potatoes and brussels sprouts. The brussels sprouts were good - well, I think they would have tasted amazing if they hadn't been over cooked to the point they were burnt! I was surprised to see how burnt they were... but maybe that was a one time thing. Despite the burnt parts, the seasoning was really good. I'd actually probably ask for it again and just hope they aren't burnt... but the potatoes were really good too! The tuna was soft and I love the sesame seeds on them. The edamame stir-fry was SO fresh - the colors were so nice!! Anyway, service was really great - our waitress was super nice and friendly. Took my daughter and her friend to Easter Sunday brunch. We were seated down in the ground floor overlooking the golf course which was very pleasant. As far as buffet go, it was very good, well prepared and many options. The waitress was kind and responsive. All was great until the manager came over and told us that the table was booked for 12:15pm, it was 11:50am and we were having dessert. Basically felt like she was telling us to hurry up and get out. RedRock Grille is located inside of Macatawa Legends Golf Course on the lower level and open to the public. Upon arrival, we asked for a table for 3 and they were able to seat us within five minutes. The restaurant was semi dim lit and very clean and nice looking inside. Lots of windows that open up to see the golf course and I bet it's beautiful during the day or sunset. Our server was able to get us waters right away and was very kind to us all night. We ordered our alcoholic drinks and waited for quite a while. They were delicious though! For an appetizer, we ordered the Pull Apart Cheesy Herb Bread which was house herb focaccia scored and baked with garlic herb butter, a cheese blend, and parmesan, served with pepperoni marinara. Sooooo good! We also ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp which was huge succulent shrimp that were battered and drizzled in their house made bang bang sauce. I absolutely loved this appetizer and enjoyed the crunchiness of it!! RedRocks most known for their 500-degree rocks to cook your food tableside. Both of my friends ordered steak and it was awesome to see the food and hear the sizzling of the meat. They pan sear your meat and you can cook to your own preference. If you're not interested in that, they have plenty of other items on the menu to choose from. I chose the Faroe Island Salmon and it was delicious and cooked perfectly! Normally would rate this place 5 stars but because our service experience was pretty slow I went down a star. I want to note our server was extremely kind and did accommodate to all our needs... but it just seemed busy or maybe he had an off night. We were interested in dessert but didn't even bother to ask for the dessert menu and just paid and went on our way. We came here for Father's Day, and were seated at an interesting location. We were near the back door where people would come through as it led out to the patio and golf course area. There are also floor vents right near the edge by the table and along the window area so it was quite cold despite how warm it was outside. Our server was a lovely girl named Hunter. She was a bit busy, but the service was just slow. We started out with the cheese bread and sauce and that was really good, and I had the NY strip steak, mashed potatoes and broccolini. We were there recently on a Friday evening. There were a couple of seats at the bar so we sat there. There were other groups there that were obviously golfers and regulars at Red Rock. We were literally ignored in spite of making eye contact for about 15 minutes, watching the regulars getting served even though we had arrived prior to them. We were briefly acknowledged, but never asked what we wanted. It was so shocking and obvious, that it would have otherwise been laughable. Having retired from years in the industry, I was appalled. We left and had an outstanding meal and service at Everyday People Cafe in Douglas. It will be a VERY long time before we go back to Red Rock....and we live in the neighborhood! Very good food, we were a party of 6 and most thought their meal was good and reasonably priced. I had the perch platter which was excellent. Lots of fries and onion rings are included. My wife ordered the gluten free pizza and liked it. Nice upscale restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating (in season). Indoor seats are nicely padded, outdoor seats are hard with no padding. Our server was excellent and catered to us attentively. All dishes were under $30 and seemed reasonably priced for the amount of food received. That's how I found RedRock Grille. While at the dentist in Indianapolis, Indiana, my hygienist and I started talking, and we somehow ended up on the topic of Michigan and Saugatuck. She asked if I had been to Holland and then told me about the restaurant. I checked it out online and was here the next day. This place is attached to a golf course, but it's definitely not golf course food. The atmosphere is a little brighter than I would have liked.. I had in my mind that this would be a dimly lit place and it's bright and open. I grabbed a table in the corner so I could people watch with my glass of Pinot Noir while I waited on my food. I arrived about 20 minutes before the kitchen closed and there were only two other tables that had people at them. They advertise many of their menu items come to the table on a 500 degree lava rock that allows you to finish cooking your steaks, ahi tuna or fajitas at the table. I saw one look of the Ahi Tuna and decided there was no way I could have anything else. I heard the sizzle before I even looked up from my phone and my server was carrying a tray towards me with my ahi tuna on it. She dropped it off and started to leave and I had to stop her. "How do I do this?" I asked. She told me to cut it in half and eat part of it while the other part continued to cook, which I did. RedRock's hook is their red rocks: Lava slabs heated to 500 degrees, then brought to your table adorned with your entree. The idea is you get to finish cooking your fish or steak or whatever to your liking. That's fine. When I go, however, I order my ribeye "off the rock." That means the chef uses their expertise to fire my steak the way it should be cooked (*they're* the culinary expert, not me!). I appreciate that RedRock offers this option. Speaking of the steak. It was pretty good. Holland doesn't have a lot of steak joints, and many of those are closed on Sundays. RedRock filled the void. Try one of their three homemade dipping sauces. Customize your cut with sautéed mushrooms or caramelized onions (or both!). Choose a potato and a veggie and it's a whole meal. Their Queso dip and chips is a five-star app all to itself. PRO TIP: Order the fingerling potatoes with your entree and dip *those* into the queso. (Who don't love some cheesy potatoes?!) Desserts could be more memorable, but they'll satisfy a sweet tooth. Our two American wagyu sirloin steaks (ordered medium rare, came out medium well) were horribly dry, leathery, hard to chew and impossible to cut with anything but a steak knife. It couldn't have been true wagyu. I asked our server, who was great, to relay this to the manager. Antonio, who was our manager, never came to the table and instead, left to go to the pool. He reduced each steak by $3. There was no visit to the table and no other explanation, until I tracked down the server. She thinks the batch of steak was poor and they will get a new shipment, but I couldn't talk to Antonio as he bailed. Also, stay away from the walleye. It was over cooked, the edges were chewy and hard, and the black burnt cake underneath was thin, greasy, salty and almost inedible. Stick with sandwiches, please. My co-workers and I tried this place for happy hour on a recent Friday (drink specials and half off starters) and it has quickly become a favorite spot! We have all loved the starters--the queso has the sweet-spot-balance of heat and flavor with house-made chips, the brie is roll-your-eyes-back-in-your-head heavenly, and the nachos have generous toppings and disappear quickly. The red rock keeps the dips hot for the entirety of our stay; there is no coagulation of the cheese. In fact, it actually bubbles while sitting on the hot stone. If you like a meal to stay hot, you will both love it here and burn the roof of your mouth if you're not careful. Recently, my husband and I invited another couple to join us to try their dinner service. The golf/game side of the restaurant looks like a sports bar but smells and serves food like a high-end steakhouse. Only at ridiculously reasonable prices.
