We were in Suite 18, which sits in a separate tower connected to the spa. The room itself was well appointed. You can tell nothing in there was inexpensive, and everything was fresh and well maintained, no wear, no chipped paint, nothing neglected. If I'm being honest, some of styling is starting to feel a touch dated in places, but that's a matter of taste more than quality. One note, and to be totally fair it was an unbelievably hot day: when we returned from dinner the room was in the mid to high 70s, and it took about an hour and a half to cool down. The staff explained we needed to lower the thermostat in 2-degree increments rather than setting it straight to our target, and they were right, it worked. Still, that's a bit of a workaround at this price point. A lovely property with genuinely gracious service. We'd stay again.

It was difficult to choose which one to have. All sounded great. I appreciated that they were either from a Black owned or local company. The art everywhere is amazing, down to the frames and mats. All are museum quality. I had room service as well as meals at Magdalena but I'll review them separately. ‍ My room was amazing! The four poster bed was so divine. I slept quite comfortably. The soaking tub was deep enough to swim in. The spa gifted me with a bath bomb which made for a truly relaxing soak session. I will most definitely be returning.

The real highlight of the stay was the pool. It is right on the water, with an incredible view of the harbor, and has plush loungers and towels. The bar service was not great - there never seemed to be enough servers - and the drinks were wildly overpriced and tiny. But that is kind of to be expected in this type of environment. Still, this was a very relaxing experience and worth the stay. They also have a house car you can check out like a library book, and e-bicycles (although they were not in service during our stay).

I make it a point to stay once every summer to enjoy the pool as that is the highlight in my opinion. The rooms are gorgeous and comfortable. I will say, this last stay seemed to be different than years past. You can tell the new ownership is strict. You need to carry your key card at all times, even to access the bathroom at the pool. I understand making sure this is a guests only property, especially considering issues I have encountered in years past, but it's excessive. The drinks at the pool bar all seem to be watered down and extremely small.. for $17-$20 a piece it's unacceptable. Staff are friendly but the front desk never seem to have an idea of what is going on half of the time. Some requests need to be asked multiple times which can be extremely frustrating for the money you pay. However, the one thing I have noticed with the new ownership is all of the fun offerings which we really enjoyed, specifically the sail boat ride and the Crab social. All in all, Pendry management has some kinks to work out, but this hotel will always hold a special place in my heart.

I was in town for work nearby and I quite like having a suite where there's a microwave, full fridge, stovetop, and a little more room to spread out. Big plus for the breakfast. While it's still mostly heat-and-serve style food, it's more than the bad bagged continental you get at so many places these days. There were eggs, sausage, waffles, and it changed every day I was there (though I only stayed a few nights). The room was fine, good bed, decent sheets and towels, and plenty of channels to flip through. I wish it was a little closer to food, as there's only one restaurant in walking distance and it was a very pricey Greek spot. But you can order in from the nearby strip mall, or stop in and grab a pizza or fast food, which I did one night. Parking is limited around front, so you'll have to park in back if you don't nab one of the front lot spots. It made walking out there a little longer, but the lot is big, free, and has room for larger vehicles or even trucks and trailers if you're needing more space.

I did not go downstairs for the complimentary breakfast but my husband did and he enjoyed it. The last place we stayed at said complimentary breakfast and it was literally only muffins and coffee. This was full breakfast. The only downsides: it was a little run down in the hallways, the elevator was out of order (not a problem for me but just stating it) and the ice machine in the room was broken (also not a problem, we just went down to the lobby and they gave us some right away!). The Dear Charles Restaurant is inside the hotel and offers a varied menu for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, or a quick bite. Parking: There is an affordable Metropolis parking garage behind the hotel. When you stop to check in, scan the QR code (the clerk will give you paper to scan the code) and add your phone number, license plate, and payment method.

It's on the site of one of the Carroll mansions and close to the flag house. Lots of history to consume. There is also lodging on site. And a courtyard for weddings right off S Front St. This is where the ceremony was held. The catering venue consists of four floors. Elevators are available for those needing it. The cocktail hour was held on the second floor under the City Lights. Dinner on the fourth. Wall murals all about Baltimore! Easy access via elevator or stairs. The food and beverage business at 1840's Plaza is exclusive to Rouge Catering of Hunt Valley. Exceptional team of professionals and food! Many shy away from evenings in town. Most of the time I can't blame them. But 1840's Plaza is well worth considering if you're planning a family or business event. Even if the fire alarm mysteriously goes off!

If you've stayed at SpringHill Suites by Marriott Baltimore Downtown/Inner Harbor or other Marriott properties before, you pretty much know what to expect here. Nothing particularly fancy or surprising, but it's comfortable, clean, and gets the job done. Not that I really care, but typically upon check-in, they will recognize your status, but they did not this time. I had to ask to ensure my Marriott number was associated with this reservation as when they didn't mention anything to me, I was concerned it wasn't for some reason. The location worked really well for us. Inner Harbor is about a 15-20 minute walk, and Oriole Park at Camden Yards is only about 10 minutes away. Just keep in mind that you are in downtown Baltimore, which unfortunately isn't the nicest area. We generally felt safe during our stay, though. After the Saturday night game, there were plenty of baseball fans walking back to the various nearby hotels, so we definitely weren't the only people out and about. There is no onsite parking, but they do offer valet service. You simply pull up in front of the hotel entrance and they'll take care of the rest. However, here's a little money-saving tip: the parking garage they use is literally across the street. You can park there yourself for roughly half the price of valet. Unless you really don't want to deal with parking your own car, I'd skip the valet and save the money. Our room was nice and spacious, with a mini fridge, although there was no safe. One slightly odd thing is that you have to put your keycard into a slot inside the room for the lights to work. So if you leave the room and take your keycard with you--as most normal humans would--you'll be coming back to a dark room. They offer free breakfast, which is perfectly fine as long as you keep your expectations in check. You'll find cereal, oatmeal, breads and bagels, sausage, yogurt, a waffle maker, and mini egg omelettes. There's also coffee along with OJ, and apple juice that comes from a machine dispenser. Unfortunately, the OJ was out when I tried to get some. There was plenty of seating in the breakfast area, so we never had an issue finding a place to sit. There's also a bar if you want to grab a drink and hang out in the evening. Overall, we had a good stay. The location is the biggest selling point, especially if you're visiting Camden Yards or Inner Harbor and want to walk rather than deal with parking. The hotel itself is pretty much what you'd expect from a SpringHill Suites--comfortable, reasonably spacious, and nothing overly fancy. We'd stay here again if we were coming back to Baltimore for a game or another downtown visit.
