We were assigned a room on the same floor as the lobby, just past the fitness center. From the outside it was as if we were on the second floor. Our single bed was quite wide, the ceiling above the bed was very high, but the bathroom was small, had no spare toilet paper, and only two hooks to hang anything, which made it tough to hang clean clothing and towels to dry for two guests who do not share towels. Speaking of which, towels provided were limited, so when I found a stain on my bath towel and requested a fresh one, they brought me a whole set. After our time here I saw a video by theholdernessfamily mentioning hotel bathrooms with barn doors that don't close tightly. I didn't realize that was a thing. But it proved true here! Also clear glass shower doors which make it impossible to share the bathroom with a gal pal while someone is showering. Our across the hall neighbor was loud. It was as if there was an open house party each night from about 10:30pm to 11:45pm with all the loud comings and goings. Their 24 hour gym had a water fountain. They have a Grab & Go stocked with a variety of snacks, drinks, some ice cream, and useful things.

When we first arrived no one was at the front desk and I wasn't even sure if that was where we were suppose to check in because it looked makeshift. Arriving in our room it was cozy, there was a note sealing the door, stating that the room had been sanitized. It was small but the bed was comfortable and the shower was huge. The room at first site appears clean until you start seeing the smaller details. 1. Black hair found in our bed on the sheets 2. A towel that was neatly folded, had blood or feces on it 3. Note sure why the restaurant is closed because of "covid" 4. No breakfast service as listed in their website. 5. $200.00 incidental charge that you won't get back for up to 10 days. 6. Was told your room could be between 68-85 degrees. There was no time when they knew it would be fixed. Being we sleep with fan and had it with us, we wanted to give it a try. Front desk offered us a lower floor with the thought hot air rises and the higher floors would be warmer. Got to the first first and there was a mold smell, toilet didn't flush and the mattress was stained and had hair all over it. Changed rooms and it didn't get any better but worse. Bathroom had black mold in it and bed wasn't any better. Checked out and went somewhere else. Doing a last minute booking caused us to have to pay an additional $400 for our stay. These conditions are not acceptable. These photos are from the two rooms we tried.

Upon arrival we were informed that the pool was closed for repairs and the HVAC system was on the fritz, no air below 70° was coming out of it. We were offered the option to cancel our reservation but everything in the area was $200-300/night now so we decided to stay. We checked in and were given room 401 first, it smelled moldy. As always we inspected the room, the bed had hairs, both long ones and some 'short curlies'... there were also stains on the mattress and the toilet didn't flush. Second room was I 616, we checked it out, again, hair, stains, black mold in the shower, and it smelled funny as well. We decided not to stay and found out from our other traveller that his bathroom sink wouldn't drain and he was going to leave as well. On the plus side, the front desk staff was very friendly and patient with us. We got checked out and went down the street to the Hampton Inn and Suites... Edit: after looking at the photos from other guests, I noticed a familiar stain... it was the one from 616 and it was posted 11 months ago! This isn't housekeeper oversight, this isn't a manager not inspecting a room... this is willful negligence by the hotel's general manager!

It has the charm of a better days Baltimore, but it's nice the building was saved and reused. The only option for cars is valet, which is a very slow and unclear process. There are a couple of spots outside to drop off, but if there's no one there, then it's unclear if those spaces are full and waiting to be moved to the garage where you should wait and that you should go inside after parking illegally to ask because the rest of the curb says no parking. The front desk was helpful and the lobby spacious if you want to hang out with your party. There was also complementary water. The rooms are nice and quiet, but housekeeping didn't come by during our 2 night stay, which given the price, I don't think removing trash/remaking bed is too much to expect. Breakfast is included but is limited, and due to the line formation against a bunch of tables, the area gets very congested with other guests not knowing how to put food on their plate. The location is in walking distance of the inner harbor, which is very convenient. Overall, it's a decent stay for the area, but some of the amenities (parking, breakfast, housecleaning) weren't quite up to par with what one might expect.

And when they finally came, all they did was replaced towels and take out the trash. No replacing of cups, no replacing of many toiletries, and definitely no making of the bed (not even straightening the sheets).
