If you're staying in Baltimore, Fells Point is 100% the way to go cobblestone streets, water views, history everywhere, and so much character. This hotel sits right on the marina, which makes it even better. The building itself is historic and full of charm. Exposed brick, dark wood, beautiful decor the hallways genuinely reminded me of walking through a classic old ship (Titanic vibes in the best way). If you love history, character, and atmosphere, this place delivers. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating from start to finish. Customer service here really stands out and makes you feel taken care of. The room was comfortable and well appointed. The bed was great, coffee was available in the room, and breakfast was complimentary each morning fruit, oatmeal, cereal, bagels, danishes, English muffins, plus a very fancy coffee machine that makes lattes, mochas, and more at the push of a button. They also offer a complimentary happy hour from 5-6pm with a free glass of wine, which was a really nice touch. That said, and this is important to note, not a complaint this is a historic hotel. Because of that, there were a few quirks. I had about 15 minutes of hot water before it turned cold on two of the three days, and the pipes/heating system were a bit noisy at times. Nothing unexpected for an older property, but worth being aware of if you're sensitive to that sort of thing. My rate was about $145/night (government rate), which felt very fair for the location, quality, and overall experience. This is a five star stay, no question. Any minor age related quirks are far outweighed by the charm, beauty, location, and exceptional staff. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates history, character, and a truly unique hotel experience.

Our room was a harbor view King bed and we had direct view of the waters. We were able to see the fireworks up close from our room! What we really liked was the setup of the room. The couch is at the foot of the bed facing the tv, making a great setup if you want to watch something or play your game console if you choose to. Most hotels should have this kind of setup in my opinion. The bed was super comfy as well. The toiletries smelled amazing and the bathrobe made you feel like royalty. Service was top notch, every staff member we interacted with, from front desk to room service delivery, was super professional and treated you like a valued guest. Note that there is no personal fridge and only a minibar fridge with overpriced weight-sensored drinks and snacks (do not touch them unless you're sure you want to eat/drink them, you will be charged). I would absolutely stay here again, though I wish they didn't go the way of most high end hotels and deny guests a simple personal fridge. It feels like they're nickel and diming you, but I guess if you can afford this place you wouldn't mind overpaying for drinks/ snacks.

The Vibes: Everything about this location is so charming, especially around the holiday season. The cobblestone streets, the musician playing live sax in the lobby, and the beautifully lit courtyard complete with fire pits, Christmas trees, and a champagne vending machine. Service: Every single person we interacted with from valet to front desk to maid service was absolutely stellar. Loved the turn down service and beautiful note card and desserts that waited for us after our show. Amenities: I loved the beautiful view of the harbor from our bedroom. The bed was super comfortable and the black out curtains were magic -- I don't think I have slept that well in years! Trying fancy hotel toiletries is my secret pleasure, and loved their body wash and shampoo scent. Dining: Our in room dining experience was truly a mixed bag in quality -- dinner was great but our breakfast the next day was mediocre (think long wait times, stale bagels, and egg shells / crab shells in our crab cake benedict). Overall, a pleasant stay.

And a courtyard for weddings right off S Front St. This is where the ceremony was held. The catering venue consists of four floors. Elevators are available for those needing it. The cocktail hour was held on the second floor under the City Lights. Dinner on the fourth. Wall murals all about Baltimore! Easy access via elevator or stairs. The food and beverage business at 1840's Plaza is exclusive to Rouge Catering of Hunt Valley. Exceptional team of professionals and food! Many shy away from evenings in town. Most of the time I can't blame them. But 1840's Plaza is well worth considering if you're planning a family or business event. Even if the fire alarm mysteriously goes off!

The transition was smooth! The ballrooms are spacious, vaulted ceilings, nice drapery but a bit outdated for my taste. I'm sure that's the theme of the place but I think even if vintage or retro is the theme/look, they could still use a facelift. It's wheelchair accessible! The courtyard is also love and spacious. Huge dance floors. 4 stars instead of 5 because of the food. It was bland, dry and bare served room temperature. For dinner we had dry stuffed chicken with some sort of flavorless sauce, green beans that were sautéed lightly, also flavorless and truffle mashed potatoes with caramelized onions. A rather bland seafood creole dish was on the menu as well. I took one bite and couldn't finish. They were absolute my delicious! I had two servings to make up for the rest of the food. We also had a seafood creole dish that tasted like canned tomato soup with with frozen shrimp and scallops. Others enjoyed. ‍

When I first entered the room I noticed it smelled pretty musty. Luckily the windows have a small section that opens. I thought I could open that and air out the room while I went to get dinner. Unfortunately, it didn't help at all. The carpeting and furniture are so gross looking I imagine the smell is coming from that and the window curtains but not really sure. The wallpaper is peeling off but as I was leaving I saw they were peeling it off in the lobby so hopefully they are working on replacing that. Water pressure is okay. If they replaced the carpet and furniture (or at least steam cleaned it) I think that would make a huge difference.

It proved to be an excellent base for a short family getaway. The Positives: 1) Room Setup: We appreciated having two queen beds, which worked perfectly for a family of three. Both beds were comfortable, and the room layout felt functional rather than cramped. 2) Location: The hotel's proximity to major attractions was ideal. On our first full day, we walked about 10 minutes along the waterfront to the National Aquarium, which made for an easy and pleasant outing. The next day, we made a similarly short walk to the Port Discovery Children's Museum (formerly known as the Children's Discovery Center). In both instances, being able to walk back and forth without relying on transportation made the trip significantly smoother with a young child. 3) Staff and Service: The staff were consistently helpful. The concierge lounge attendants were friendly, and the front desk team handled check-in and check-out efficiently. On our departure day, we were able to store our luggage seamlessly after checking out, which allowed us to enjoy a few more hours in the area without feeling encumbered. 4) Elevators: This may seem like a small operational detail, but it mattered. We were on the 21st floor, and the concierge lounge is on the 31st. Because there is no direct elevator connection between those floors, we frequently had to ride down to the lobby and transfer elevators. Despite this added movement, the elevators were consistently quick and efficient. We never found ourselves waiting long, even during busier periods--a notable plus in a large waterfront hotel. 5) Concierge Lounge: The lounge was a real asset, particularly on our first evening. After traveling, it was convenient to piece together a full dinner from the generous spread available there. The following morning was more uneven--they ran out of food earlier than expected due to heavier foot traffic--but this appeared to be more of a planning miscalculation than neglect. Overall, having access to the lounge added meaningful value to our stay. (Lounge access is limited to Marriott Bonvoy members with elite status, which fortunately my wife has because of her frequent travels.) 6) Breakfast Buffet: We opted for the breakfast buffet on our final morning. At $32 per person, it is undeniably expensive. That said, the quality and variety justified the price. The offerings were extensive: oatmeal, grits, pork and chicken sausage, bacon, home fries, scrambled eggs, pancakes, made-to-order omelets and waffles, juices, coffee, and more. It was a comprehensive, well-executed American breakfast spread. Overall: For a short family trip to Baltimore, the Marriott Waterfront struck the right balance between comfort, convenience, and service. The location alone makes it highly attractive for families planning to explore the Inner Harbor area, and the operational execution--from elevators to luggage storage--was smooth. We would gladly consider staying here again on a future visit.

My room was very quiet, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I loved the canopy - felt like my room when I was a kid! The hotel is in the Mount Vernon area of downtown Baltimore, and there were lots of charming restaurants and coffee shops nearby. I was also easily able to catch and Uber to work-related destinations and the airport, so the location is incredibly convenient. On my final day in town, I had an late flight and the front desk allowed me to leave my luggage there for the afternoon, which was incredibly helpful! As a business traveler, the room did lack some of the amenities I prefer on a busy trip (like an in-room fridge, coffee maker, an in-room desk area, and adequate outlets for charging). While I would most definitely stay at the Ulysses again for leisure trip, I don't know that I would choose this property again for a business trip.
